Little Rowena: Story of Creation is a book for a young reader dealing with how the world was created. The Bible is used as the final authority for the explanation of the beginning of the world and this is contrasted with the theory of evolution which a young child learns the difference between the two concepts.

Little Rowena: Story of Creation teaches a young reader the basic Christian concepts of faith establishing understanding to a youngster who likes to ask a lot of questions and is discovering the foundation of Christian beliefs.

Little Rowena is a little girl whose family is rooted in the word of God. Tommy is her older brother and sparks his sisters interest in learning the word of God by reading to her from the Bible enabling him to answer her many questions with the Bible concerning creation. There is a focus on devotional time, which Tommy is able to teach and examine scripture relating to creation of man.

Tommy and friends are being taught the theory of evolution in school who do their own detective work on the subject of theory and faith. Little Rowena was in the kitchen looking for a snack. She thought about the Chocolate chip cookies her Mother had baked. Yes, she said, `I will get some cookies and milk". She pulled a chair from the table and pushed it up to the counter, where the brown cookie jar sat with the smiling face.

The jar was shaped like a teddy bear. The lid was the head, large ears and a smiling grin. She lifted the bear ears and the smell made her grin like the teddy bear cookie jar. Rowena grabbed a hand full of cookies when all of a sudden the lip slipped from her grasp. The cookie jar lid fell to the floor, the smiling face broke.

Oh, my’, said Little Rowena, `look at what I have done! Just then she heard the living room door shut. It was Tommy, her brother. He was returning from football practice. He is the quarterback of the Ike Eagles.

Oh, no, look what you made me do!’ said Rowena, `Now, Mother is going to be upset because you made me break her favorite cookie jar!

Now, Rowena, that’s not true! said Tommy. Tommy went to the refrigerator and poured a large glass of punch and made a huge sandwich while walking over to the glass table where he kept his Bible. Every word in this book is true, it is the word of the living God, he thought.

God wants us to tell the truth, said Tommy. You mean God saw me? asked Little Rowena. Yes, said Tommy. Rowena turned around looking up in the air, then said, but I can’t see him! God is a Spirit and He is very Holy though we can not see him but he can see us all the time, he said.

Little Rowena thought for a moment. What about the broken cookie jar? she asked. I will clean it up before Mother gets home, he said.

Little Rowena picked up the Bible and held it in her hands and slowly turned the pages. Is God really in here? she asked. "Yes, God speaks to us through his Holy breathed written Word", said Tommy.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.    2 Timothy 3:16

Will you read it to me? she asked. Yes, said Tommy, then he stuffed the rest of the sub-sandwich into his mouth and swallowed like an alligator.

Tommy cleaned up the broken glass. Tommy picked up his sister and carried her to his favorite chair then put her on his lap. God wants us to tell the truth, not just you but everyone, he said. I will tell you about God and how He created the world, said Tommy, turning the pages of the Bible and he began to read:

In the beginning God created heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.     Genesis 1:1

Is God really a Spirit? asked Little Rowena. Yes, Tommy said, as he turned the pages of his favorite Bible his father had given him and read:

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in Spirit and in TRUTH.     John 4:24

God said, Let there be light, said Tommy. Now, we must continue in the Gospel of John to get a better understanding, he said. Tommy quickly turned the pages of his Bible to the New Testament. Ah, here it is, he said:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word Was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without Him was not anything made.     John 1:1-3

Rowena grabbed a hand full of cookies

then the lid slipped from her grasp

You mean God just said, `Let there be light? asked Little Rowena.

Yes, said Tommy. God commanded light by his voice and there was Light! he said. God is Light! Tommy said.

And God saw the light that it was good; and God divided the light from darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night and the evening and the morning was the first day     Genesis 1:4-5

He barely finished reading when Rowena hopped from his lap and ran to the living room window and stared outside. Tommy is God still out there? she asked. Yes, Rowena, God is outside and in here too! he said. "God is omnipresent everywhere at once! he explained. God lives forever and he wants you to live forever with him!" said Tommy. They both gazed out the big picture window in the living room at God’s wonder of nature.

God has no beginning or end, said Tommy. Listen to Jesus—Yeshua Jehovah God’s only begotten (born of the Holy Spirit) Son speaking, said Tommy, turning to the last book in the Bible:

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, Revelation 1:8

We are to worship and obey God as long as we live, he said. If we obey God, he will keep his promises through his Son Jesus Christ—Yeshua the Messiah’s Words, said Tommy. These are called blessings, he explained. God created us from the beginning to fellowship with him, said Tommy.

How long is forever? asked Little Rowena. That is something we can only imagine but it means no end, said Tommy. Sometimes we get distracted, do not think about God, His Word, the way we should and do things we should not; called sin then we have to ask for forgiveness, he said.

What does distracted mean? asked Rowena. Well, it could mean when we put friends or things before God or doing things just to be cool, things you know is not right to be accepted with friends, said Tommy. We could be on cell phones and social media too much, he said. Buying things we really don’t need when we should be giving to God, he explained. Think about what God has said and what He wants us to do and not doing it, Tommy said.

You know what, it happens to grown-ups too, said Tommy, almost in a whisper. Rowena’s face turned pale with surprise. You mean GROWN-UPS get distracted too, she said, repeating her brother. But they are so tall and all grown up, how can this be?, she asked. Strangely, the same way it happens to us except a few more things are added, he said.

Grown-ups get distracted by too many bills, or trying to be something they are not, listening to people that really do not know what they are talking about then teach their children the same thing, said Tommy. I thought you didn’t have to worry about anything when you get grown-up, said Rowena.

Come Rowena, let me read to you about the second day, said Tommy God only took six days to create the world, he said. Gods time and man’s time are completely different, said Tommy, lifting Rowena up on his lap. Tommy began to read from his Bible again:

And God said let there be a firmament in the mist of the waters, and let It divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament and Divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which Were above the firmament and it was so.     Genesis 1:6-7

What is a firmament? asked Little Rowena with a frown on her face. Well, Rowena, it’s the great big space that surrounds the earth, said Tommy. Well, I didn’t see any fur in the sky when I looked up, said Little Rowena. Oh, no, not fur! Firmament, laughed Tommy, correcting his little sister and continuing to read.

And God called the firmament heaven. And the evening and the morning Was the second day.     Genesis 1:8

You see, Rowena, God created heaven on the second day, said Tommy. Heaven is a place Jehovah God is going to take all the people who believe in His Son, Jesus Christ—Yeshua the Messiah, he explained. If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ—Yeshua the Messiah is the Son of God, died for your sins, and God raised him from the dead, give Jesus—Yeshua all your heart and all your life, you are born—again into His Spirit, said Tommy. "Your saved from eternal death with the devil", he said. Turning the pages of his Bible and he began to read:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whosoever Believes in him should not perish, but have
