"What a fun book Connie Handman has given us in Kristie’s Crazy Christmas! My favorite part is when Kristie uses her imagination to describe the birth of Jesus in the stable. Kristie’s love of all animals weaves its way like a thread throughout the story. All the girls who love horses will identify with her devotion to Angel Boy.
I also appreciate the opportunities for the reader to reflect on how his or her life intersects with the story. Kristie reaches directly to the reader with her encouragement and affirmations. This is a perfect gift for that special child at Christmas!
Sharon Calhoun, Middle School Educator and Bible Study Leader at Northeast Christian Church
"What if Christmas Break were to be a bit less than normal for juvenile-aged students? Could it still be filled with experiences, challenges, opportunities, and even valuable lessons that relate to family, biology, and faith— all of which translate into the best Christmas Break ever?
"In her book—Kristie’s Crazy Christmas—Mrs. Handman provides the creative content and images that captivate
the interest of young readers and compel them to actively engage with the characters. I am well into adulthood, and I predict that her target group, as well as all ages, will immensely enjoy and benefit from reading Connie Handman’s book. I certainly did!"
Richard Hughes, Ed.D. Instructor, Dept. of Foundational and Graduate Studies in Education at Morehead State University
"My daughter and I had a good time reading together Kristie’s Crazy Christmas. We loved the talks it created— everything from Christmas traditions to ‘Is her horse like my ponies?’ It also spurred her imagination and reminded her that she is never alone and can always talk to God. Reading this book helped my daughter process how God can use disappointments to help make us more appreciative of what He gives us and how simple things provide great joy, like Calico having her kittens.
