Acknowledgments
I would like to thank my granddaughter, Tori for managing to type up my story wading through my pages of scribbling, multiple changes and red notes in the margins. It only took a year, but that’s another story.
My appreciations go out to Sharon Horzmann for editing my story so the general public could read it. And her husband Bob Horzmann for his friendship, advice and letting me use his name and image for the illustrations.
This book was written, co-edited and illustrated by Roger C. Douglas.
A special note goes out to the folks who created the endearing and lasting Christmas songs referred to in my story: Here Comes Santa Claus
, Jingles Bells
and We Wish You a Merry Christmas
.
Dedication
When I decided to grow a beard during the pandemic this story just came to me. The next two months I wrote, rewrote and changed some things. There were more rewrites and changes as the story progressed.
My wife, Nancy, was there from the beginning. She watched the process take place and helped me work through it. She is there to encourage me when I need it and her advice has been right on.
She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Thank you for sticking with me.
