INTRODUCTION
I SAT ON MY BED IN Amherst, Virginia, watching the heavy snow fall down upon the earth, my mind wandering off. I was thinking about what life was like for the first man and woman who lived in this world. I have only lived in this world for 57 years, but in this short time, I have seen, heard about, and experienced sin and death. I have also felt the pain caused by sin and death. I know we all realize that we are in a world where sin and death exist. With that in mind, I pulled out my computer and decided to try to complete a story I had started in Galax, Virginia—a story about the first man and woman created by God Almighty (Gen. 1:27 KJV). They were captured by sin and death, and today we are suffering from their captivity.
In the summer of 2015, my family and I operated a basketball camp for one week in Galax, Virginia. I woke up one morning out of a deep sleep at our friend’s house, after dreaming about Adam and Eve. I dreamt I saw a book titled, Where Are You?…Am I Dead? This book contained the story of the first man and woman on earth, and it sat heavily on my heart. I could feel the pain of guilt, radiating from the book. I have done a lot of wrong in my life, and I’m still fighting with the guilt of some of it today, but this painful feeling was different. This guilt was much deeper than I could fully express. The first man and woman, who were Adam and Eve, were the first to disobey God, the Creator of all things (Gen. 3:6 KJV).
I went to the kitchen where my friend was preparing our breakfast and shared my dream with her. She said to me, You should write it down.
I followed her suggestion and wrote down as much as I could remember.
In my dream, I could see things from Adam and Eve’s perspectives. They had experienced sin and death from a different side than we have. They once lived on the side of life where there was no sin or death, but they entered into sin and death through their disobedience (Gen. 3:22 KJV). We were born into sin and death because of their disobedience and have yet to experience righteousness. So, what is sin? What is death? Sin is disobedience unto God, the Creator of all things (Rom. 3:23, KJV); this action has caused man to be separated from God. Death is the result or consequence of disobedience unto God,. When one is separated from God, he loses his life and becomes an enemy unto God. Disobedience was the downfall of the first man and the first woman of all mankind.
Even though man was totally separated from God, He made a way, out of His love and mercy, for us to be forgiven through the last Adam (1 Cor. 15:45 KJV). When the first Adam failed, God had to make another Adam. I’d like to share this dream with you, as it unfolded before me. Also, there are other stories and plays added for your pleasure. I pray that
