Educated in the United States of America, Gesiere Brisibe-Dorgu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, Minnesota and a Master of arts degree in Public Administration from Mankato State University, Minnesota. She is the founder and president of KEMSESE, Center for Young People in Need, a non-pro¬ t organization. Gesiere Brisibe-Dorgu is a self-taught visual artist.

A Feeling

          Your treasured presence, you deny me

          A crafty trick to make me crawl

          And plea bargain, with teary eyes!

          I have my pride

          A worthy prize, I hold dear

          That never fails, to keep me firm

          When my balance, goes askance.

          To be with you, is all I want

          A simple want, you must admit

          So drag not your feet

          When you feel as I feel!

          Think as I think!

          Yearn as I yearn!

          You fear a touch

          So take a run, to hide your care

          Until, busting at the seams

          You call to me, deep in the night

          Breathlessly kneeling by my bed

          But my bedstead curtains, I will lace

          And throw to you, distant kisses

          Until, hurting at the knees

          Your cool pretense cracks

          And the simmer, turns to a boil

          Making our auras intertwine

          In celestial salutation

          Creating a double dance, to delight sentinels

          Sent to applaud our patience.

          You my dear, I do adore

          Your tenderness, I can’t compare

          To anything I’ve ever known

          A cherished gift from a priceless heart

          Is what you are!

          Your treasured presence, please don’t hoard

          Since our paths do unite

          And hostage taker, you can become

          When you keep my heart, for a price!

A Promise

        The fluttering of your soul, speak to me

        In urgent whispers I can’t ignore.

        In your countenance, I read tales

        Of myriad visions and missions

        But the slump, of your shoulders

        Tell me a tale of fading hope

        Which, with measured haste

        Is fast escaping

        Like a waking dream.

        Conceal not yourself, from life’s counsel

        ’Cause back of your eyes

        Can still be discerned, a muted glow

        Of piled up promises

        And suspended glory!

        The fluttering of your soul, speak eloquently

        To they, whose soaring senses, borders banish

        As they send helpers, emissaries and solutions

        Artfully arranged, in masterful sequences

        Thus, exposing terrestrial mysteries

        In ordinary and marvelous ways!

A Spell

      My calm is muddied in waters deep

      Triggering turbulence, I’ve no need of!

      I am wise, so I can run

      From the waves of emotion, overwhelming me

      And swim to shore and to you

      Whose soothing voice, I long to hear

      In soulful songs, from before our birth!

      Put mouth to Akpede!

      And lose yourself in the lyrics

      If perchance I doze or sleep

      Patiently sing close to my ears

      For my conversations in dreamland

      Must be about you

      So stop not the song

      Cause I hear and feel you, deep in Theta

      As I traverse the clouds

      And keep company with Venus

      Whose generous gifts, I’ll share with you!

      Keep up the zest with ozi!

      To delight me and cupid, keeper of the crown

      In our dance with destiny

      Which beams its luminous
