About this ebook

The purpose of this book is to give you hope and perseverance through prayer, knowing that when fear comes upon you through your circumstances, God will not let your circumstances overtake you. When you pray and depend on him through faith, God moves in the midst of your storm. He may not take you out of the storm but he will give you victory in it. If you would be steadfast and unmovable in the Word of the Lord you will win. This book is about my walk through the many storms I encountered in my life and exceeded through answered prayers. You will learn how to weather the storm through prayer and how to press through when God is silent. You will be able to withstand the devices of the enemy and to become more than a conqueror through Christ. This is where prayer gets ahead of potential danger.

I dedicate this book to my parents, the late Bishop Chappell and Mrs. Trannie Rush, for enabling me to see and understand God through their lives. To my twin sister, the late Renita White, for her faith throughout her walk in this life. Through her, I truly understand the scripture We walk by faith and not by sight. It was her faith that made me believe. To my daughters Whitney and Jasmine, my granddaughter Chamya, and grandson Jeremiah, that they may know that with God, nothing is impossible. To Andrea Chapman, who has been a great support. To Taliah Shabazz, Apostle Carol Peay, Reverend Feliciane Green, Minister Sherry L. Barnes, and Reverend Cheryl Mercer—these women of the gospel prayed and encouraged me through this transition. And to the Community Sisters in Prayer Ministry, family, and friends who have prayed for me, who have believed in me, who have worked with me, and who have served with me to see the divine manifestation of the prophetic vision that the Lord has given me.

    INTRODUCTION

I t is one thing to have a relationship in prayer and another to have to pray. A relationship in prayer is the intimacy you have with God. It was not an intimate relationship with God in the beginning of my walk. It was trouble! It was that I had to pray. My circumstances in the wilderness of life was not only being in the wilderness, but the extra occurrences in this place also pushed me to do strange things in tough places. It led me to another dimension in prayer, which shifted me into total intimacy with God. These occurrences drove me into the very presence of the Lord. The time I spent with the Lord enabled me to hear prophetically. It is when you actually hear from God and not from circumstances, not only to hear but to also see prophetically.

Learning to hear God’s voice is a growth process. To hear prophetically, you hear what no one else can hear. In order to see prophetically, you must be willing to be assisted by the Holy Spirit to reach a dimension in an unfamiliar area and operate in things that seem foolish to others. All external is shut off. No other interference, just you and God. The heart is designed to hear. The heart hears and discerns what the mind can’t see. The word says so faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. I had to get to a place where I could hear from God. Wherever the spirit led me to pray, I prayed. Through prayer, I erected an altar from any place or circumstance, any trouble or dilemma. The pain of life wouldn’t let me choose a conventional altar. I did not have time to wait for a pastor to lay hands on me. I had to prophesy to myself and speak life to the situation.

The storms of life, the rejections, the dream killers—those things pushed me into a praying posture, which took me to a level of prophetic intercession. A true intercessor is not just a person who intercedes for others. They turn their will over to God’s will. They allow God to use their lives in whatever way He chooses. Prophetic intercession is that which gets ahead of potential danger. When you begin to move in the realm of prophetic intercession, you will be exposed to seen and unseen danger. Intercessors are willing to be taken to the places where God wants them to perform spiritual work. I remember my prayer was Lord, do not let anything slip up on me. Prophetic intercession also gives you the right to have prophetic authority over the enemy. Prophetic authority attacks the potential danger through prayer.

Prayer brought me into a life of intimacy in praying and fasting with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Prayer makes the difference. It shifts, it directs, it pursues, and through the word of God, it obtains what is the perfect will of God for our lives. Through prayer, my steps were ordered by the Lord; and before I became anything, I became an intercessor. I can truly say that because of the severe storms in my life, my life has always been a life of prayer.

The purpose of me writing this book is to encourage and give you hope to persevere through prayer. Romans 5:5 decrees that hope does not disappoint us. Though the storms and the wilderness occur in your life, God uses these things for you to get to know and understand Him better. In fact, prayer does not take you out of your trouble—prayer gets ahead of it and sustains you through the trouble. It was not designed to destroy you. It was just a platform for God’s miracles.

    CHAPTER ONE

    Praying Through the

    Fight of Fear

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

    —Psalm 34:19 KJV

T he trouble I was in was causing me trouble ! I knew the word, which says if you worry, it causes you harm, but I must confess that I focused on the problems long enough for Satan to attack my mind. During this time of difficulty in my life, I was experiencing anxiety and stress, and I wanted God to come quickly. Why? Because the pain of it was so severe that I wanted an instant out. I turned from my problems and sought the Lord. In my crying out to Him through prayer, He said to me, Your way out is in. God took me into some circumstances and situations to fortify me. When I say He took me in, He took me all the way in. God allowed it to happen. In my flesh, I wanted to say " God, you’re headed in the wrong direction! I prayed for You to take me OUT! And You took me IN!" My first fight was the fight of fear. I was fighting the fear of losing. Everything was going just the opposite of my prayer. For me, as a believer, the enemy wanted
