The Worship of God - Christopher Egbulefu

    ADMONITION

In this book I give you my conviction that is intended to enable you break down the walls of religious doctrines and blind faith and to expose you to the Light of God, but what you do with it rest solely in your hands, it is your responsibility which also you must give account to the Most High God to who alone is the kingdom, the power and the glory for all eternity. Amen!

In advising you true seekers who read the words of the Lord through my hand I quote the following:

Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.

    John 12:35-36

"And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it].

    Holy Quran 2:42

    PRELUDE

I remember my childhood days when after dinner my mom would tell us some Bible stories before bedtime. We always looked forward to those sweet Bible stories, and other concocted fairy tales my mom would package and feed us with. But over time she began to lose track of her stories and would repeat them in different versions, however we never forgot any story once told and will remind her she told the story before. Knowing we’ve discovered their tricks they decided to buy us a television set that relieved her problem of telling so many bed time stories and fairy tales.

The power of visualization and vocalization of Bible stories and fairy tales depicting fantasies embracing nature and spirituality helped drive home the knowledge more quickly and faster thus living forms in our virgin minds. These forms were further strengthened by the school curriculum where we were taught the Christian Religious knowledge which is an exposition of the Jewish tradition and Christianity. This activity also obtains in the churches where children and adults are taught the different doctrines and beliefs of the different Christian Churches. Basically people are born into one religion or the other and have their belief system shaped by the tenets or doctrines of their parent’s religion. With the contents of both the Church and School curriculum combined with the effects of socio-cultural norms and traditions our intellects and behaviour patterns were formed along with our belief systems. This also applies to every other religion where children are taught from cradle to conform to the belief system and traditions and in the process they become adherents out of habit and blind faith. By blind faith I mean the acceptance of a doctrine or teaching without investigating or examining the content in order to ascertain its authenticity, context and purpose. This is the case with very many believers and religious adherents today.

On the contrary living faith only comes when one is totally broken and then, awakens a conviction on belief. By belief I do no not refer to what is right or agreeing with ideologies or philosophies etc. but trust and reliance on the Living Word of God. This awakening brings you to that point of asking questions and examining issues, thoughts and events that assails you. This spiritual awakening compels you to asking questions about your place in God’s Creation and your path and relevance in this earth life. It is only then can divine illumination flood your mind and you start discovering your true self as you decipher the Scriptures and its meaning and relevance to your spiritual survival. It is also then the whole essence of Creation begins to make meaning as it opens up to you and thus bring you to the point of conviction. As your spirit opens up to receive illumination, the radiation of the Eternal Spirit of God flows into your being like a fountain of living water quenching all sense of taste and satisfying your soul by giving it an immeasurable peace, then arises the zeal for mastery and spiritual maturity.

The Holy Bible is often referred to as a book of mysteries because of the inability of folks in understanding the scriptures that are either written in parables, literal or symbolic terms. However, with an open heart that is devoid of bias and blind faith one is able to fathom the entire scriptures which are made plain and simple to the understanding of a searching mind. By understanding I mean the gaining of spiritual insight given by the Holy Scriptures and not the intellectual comprehension or understanding resulting from academic exercise.

The Holy Bible is a book of Creation that reveals the hidden treasures of life and immortality to mankind; it narrates the natural happenings in this life in relation to the spiritual laws as willed by God. It is the error of man that led to the wrong interpretations to some of the Scriptures which has resulted to the great controversies. But with a careful examination from a non-biased position and by the help of the Spirit guide one is able to comprehend these explanations and to discern the message of the Holy Scriptures.

It is in view of this that this book was written, to explain and provide answers to some of the issues that have formed subjects of great controversy among the Christians and non-Christians alike. While trying to provide explanations to some areas of contention among Christians about the Holy Scriptures, the book also gives some admonitions to believers. Sources were taken from the Holy Bible and the Holy Quran and the Grail Message and other relevant literatures in order to provide appreciable insight to the reading audience.

    CHAPTER ONE

    The Corruption

As a young boy I once asked a friend what original sin means, whether it is the first sin anyone commits. The answer I got in response got me puzzled. My friend replied that original sin is the sin of Adam and Eve. He went further to explain that it is the sin of disobedience, when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. But then I wasn’t convinced and engaging in an argument with my friend that the tree of knowledge was not evil after all, I questioned why God didn’t show Adam and Eve the tree of life? But he simply replied me saying that it was not for Adam and Eve nor anyone else to question God or quest to know why God planted the trees, but it’s for man to obey simple instruction and this Adam and Eve failed to do.

I often ponder on the biblical account of the creation of man and his ordeal in the Garden of Eden but the answers assailing my mind were so superficial and unconvincing. My inquisition led me into deeper reflection on the subject and to know why God meted such penalty of death sentence on Adam and Eve for mere eating of fruit. My search began from the Garden of Eden as narrated in Gen 1:26-31 and Gen 2:8-9, 15-17.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.(Gen 1:26-31)

And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.(Gen 2:8-9)

And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.(Gen 2:15-17)

From the beginning Adam and Eve with other early humans were more attuned to their spiritual anchorage, which through pure vibrations from the spiritual vivify and rejuvenates the physical realities. The purity of the intellect and intuition enabled mankind to accurately receive and transmit the vibrations of God’s radiation. The Biblical narration of Adam and Eve hearing the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day refers to the vibrations of God’s radiation which Adam and Eve were able to receive and thus were sustained. In reciprocation, they were able to transmit this radiation through their direct positive influence on other creatures hence tendering and maintaining Creation and exercising dominion over them.

The vibration of God which is perceived or discerned through the faculty of intuition is transmitted through the aid of the intellect in forms that could be understood and interpreted by man. These transmissions come inform of instructions, visions, dreams, inspirations, sounds and colours etc. The intellects in return receive and translate these vibrations thus giving them expressions through languages and signs. It is the corruption of the intellect and its disorientation that is responsible for the disharmony and evil consequences in the Gross Material World. It is the cutting off of the pure vibrations of God being assailed to this plane of Gross Matter by the corrupt human intellect that is leading to the decay and death of the Gross Material plane. In order to bring this happening to the level of human understanding the Spirit had to use the simple narration of the account of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Judging from what is obtainable or seen at present one can correctly assert that there couldn’t have being much fundamental differences when compared to early stages of earthly creation especially with what happened in the Garden of Eden. Looking at the present, man exists and lives in an environment influenced by natural elements that have led him to innovative thinking in quest of survival and thus bringing about a gradual development of self and environment which gave birth to what is called civilization. The state of mankind today is the direct result of his intellect and intuition through the influence of his will or volition. Being a spiritual creature inhabiting a body of blood and tissues, man is anchored and sustained by spiritual forces in relation to the natural elements that affect his physical body which is a shield to his spirit being.

Pay attention to the admonitions of Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:8 where he urge Believers to give due attention to their volition and their thoughts which are the factors that either builds a man or mar him both spiritually and materially.

Taking us back to the question about the original sin, many authors have given different versions of what they believed happened resulting to the fall of Adam. I’ll like to make a particular reference to an article by William Branham on the Original sin. According to the publication by William Branham’s ministry titled the ‘Original Sin’ the Tree of life and the Tree of knowledge of good and evil represented Jesus Christ and Satan respectively who were present in the garden. But a close look at the above scriptures in Genesis shows that William Branham’s assertion couldn’t have been correct. In Gen 2:8-9 we discover that both trees were made to grow from the ground, they were also good for food and pleasant to the sight. They were among the trees God created out of the ground. Both could be seen, touched and they bear fruits. Christ and Satan are both conscious spirits, Christ being the Creator (Heb 1:10 and Jn1:1-16) could not have planted or stationed himself as a physical tree, together with Satan who is a defiled spirit in a garden obviously waiting for who will eat of their fruits. The assertion portrays a competition between God and Satan which of course cannot happen. The Bible is explicit and precise in the use of words and the use of ‘Tree’ in this context could not have been symbolic since both trees were natural plants. God created the tree of life to give life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil to give knowledge. The Tree of life was a tree created to revive and build dead tissues as well as strengthen the human intuition through its spiritual power. This view is buttressed by the presence of some powerful herbs that possess some mystical powers that facilitates healing and exercises some spiritual influences on humans. Most of these herbs are used for the production of both orthodox and traditional medicine today. Read what God said about the tree of life:

And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever.

From what God said above, it is evident that the Tree of Life is a physical and natural tree from which Adam and Eve could easily stretch their hands to pluck its fruits. Secondly the fruit of the Tree of Life possess the life giving potency, in other words anyone that eat of the fruit will not die but live forever. However we were not told what nature of life God was referring to, i.e. whether physical or spiritual life. On the other hand, the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil brought man to the conscious awakening to reason. It exposed man to the over dependence on his intellect, and thus gradually cut him off from the power of his intuition which is the link to his spiritual faculties. As a result man continued to quest for knowledge being uncertain of his future because he could no longer connect to his intuition which is the tool for acquiring real knowledge that is readily available in his spirit.

The intellect is a faculty of man that relates with and interprets the physical environment of man, just as the intuition relates with and interprets his spiritual environment. By nature man possesses these two faculties for his experiencing in this physical world, but given the over dependence and over use of the intellect the human intuitive faculties became suppressed through man’s undue attachment and attention to physical realities and thus seems not to exist at all. This is what is termed the Original Sin. For several generations man has been trapped under the power of his intellect being made a slave instead of a master in the use of his intellect. This perpetual slavery is the result of the repeated cycle of tutelage where a child from kindergarten to
