About this ebook

I am a retired math teacher and guidance counselor of thirty-five years. During my career and life journey, I have seen happiness and heartache, always hoping to find the right words to help others through good times and bad. Spoken or written words that are positive can have great power in building self-esteem, aiding in the healing process or just thinking and sometimes laughing about life in general. I hope the messages portrayed in my poems make you laugh, cry and think about the impact that people have on one another.

    Authors Note

I started writing poetry to help in the healing process.

I wrote a couple of poems and some scavenger

hunt rhymes for Christmas, but did not truly start writing

until the loss of my great-great nephew, Koda McKay.

Writing poetry helped me put my feelings down on

paper and reflect on life itself. Many of my poems are

sentimental, spiritual and humorous. I hope you enjoy my

    journey from sunrise to sunset.

    Our Perfect Little Angel

In loving memory of Koda McKay Johnson, my great-great nephew.

You were so loved even before your arrival.

But God had other plans for your survival.

He only takes angels in Heaven above

And fills their hearts with peace, joy and love.

He didn’t want you to suffer or feel any pain.

Truly, our loss is Heaven’s gain.

Our loved ones in Heaven will take great care

Of our precious little Koda Bear.

So, goodbye for now our perfect little man

Until we can hold you in Heaven again.

    Forever and Always

A loss of life is often hard to comprehend

Even though our loved ones to heaven we send.

No matter if their lives were short or long

Deep in our hearts, they will forever belong.

                      Whether death is
