About this ebook

Date of Entry is a compilation of poems I kept in several notebooks in which Ive used to express myself throughout the years. I write about love lost and found, about self doubt, about low self-esteem, and about being in a relationship involving domestic violence and staying in it because I didnt love myself enough or felt worthy enough to get out early on. But through Gods grace, I did. One day in a dream, while I was in a medically induced coma for three weeks after an accident I suffered about four years ago now, I had an outer body experience. I was walking through parts of my life, looking at myself while traveling through dates in time. It was bizarre but so life-changing. I could see that from my first date of entry (the day I was born), I had been through a number of lifes inevitable trials, yet I was awake and still alive. Thankful for the experience and feeling renewed, I knew then it was time to finally fulfill my purpose in writing Date of Entry. I know Im doing what I was created to do. I believe that when we share, we teach and we inspire. And that to me is the sole purpose of this book.

Emmy Vargas

My name is Emmy Vargas I was born in Honduras. C.A. October 26, 1979. I am the last of three children. Because I am the baby I have taken the liberties of saying No more than my siblings. I was very shy growing up, always afraid of taking chances that were risky mainly because I saw how hard my mom worked to take care of us three alone i didn’t want to disappoint her. I’ve loved writing for as long as I can remember I wrote short stories in elementary my mom still keeps in a case that stores old report cards and mother’s day cards I made when I was younger. As a teen I wrote songs in notebooks I still have, somewhere. Don’t ask me where, But I have em! believe me. I was in love with singing for a while I even went to a performing arts high school called Talent Unlimited. In my freshmen year in college I fell in love with writing. My speech professor would assign stories for us to write and then share with the class for a grade. He reignited the love for wring in me. And I haven't put my pen down since. I love that even in silence words can be heard. Even with a mouth closed shut words can be heard.
