Heights and Depths of Wonder: Poetry Anthology
By Gerald Weeks
()
About this ebook
Meaning to consign a linear line so fine it vanishes into obscurity
Meaningful verse long or terse from impromptu incredulity
Really intending to append merely as invisible ink
Thinking this will be revealed if a reading solution is appliedI think
Therefore tense without pretense of what is concealed will be revealed
Moreover, appeal to your good sense if sensibility is so willed
What I really mean is of course is no recourse to an elementary discourse
Therefore, intend to score my lines indelibly with incredibly little force

Born in London, England. I was a shy, sensitive child; as one of four brothers and, the least keen for school life! School zeal was limited for only: English and Art, Showing aptitudes for English composition and abstract painting to win successive Art prizes at end of school terms. I wrote my first poem of any note at 12 yrs of age and, at the same age, received my first Art prize - a book! Whilst self-educating and maturing, I seldom focused my creative energies until middle-age therein writing a sci-fi novel moreover Art sales and single poems published. Sharing to facebook poetry groups during the last decade, I now share within this book a gleaned compilation to create a unique, imaginative and fact based, eclectic anthology: ‘Heights and Depths of Wonder’ of personal muse, reveries, emotions, moreover profound empathic links with creation and nature, to link with you the reader.

THE THINKER (introduction for Inspirations)
Lost in thought
Found within
Profound in suppose
Thinking therein;
Food for thought
Evaluate within
Postulate in pose
Considered therein;
Muse in thought
Meditate within
Contemplate in repose
Peace therein.

BAND OF BROTHERS (Inspirations
Group or band,
In heart or at hand,
We whoop in joy,
Bereft of coy!
Of delight in poetic-pen,
We are clansmen!
Sharing verse to converse,
Sublime or worse;
Is a consign we assign,
Within therein?
Or an opine?
Extended or terse?
Gentlemanly gifted,
To be enigma unsifted;
Mystery of poetry,
Meaningfully or symbolically,
Seemingly terrific!
We endeavour to compose,
Such a searchable rose;
Therein ink reposed forlorn,
Such a quest does loom;
In words prickly thorn,
Our rosy text will bloom,
To enliven a literal prose!
ARTS IN ACTION
Drawing on inspiration creates a picture,
Invention is the rhyme of parody,
Sublime verse is merely a juncture,
Tunes afford a deposit for melody,
Music composes the soul bereft of literature,
As art conceals painterly deals with harmony,
The arts seals in action-man’s hand signature.

INTRO FLOW (Inspirations)
Source! The flow is fickle!
For those ancient bards,
First inks flowed from literate, tongue-vanguards,
Who sipped from muses outcrops-trickle;
The stream of oral and written,
Emerged to by-pass nook and cranny,
Gleaned to accrue avant-garde-nanny,
Flowed into verdant valley-mitten;
Flowing with volume in depth and girth,
Meandering and grooving into arid earth;
As the pen-ink is to use and effuse,
So the flow must-as a river in direction dither,
Be bereft of tributary confuse;
Onward and relentless!
Confluence erodes!
Even rock yields to its fluvial codes!
So if ye inks paint storm and rock,
Nay be faint to stay in dock!
Sail as one would brush painterly,
To gush out of literal estuary!
Compose in sight of open sea,
There-like fish ye
