Gerald Weeks
Born in London, England. I was a shy, sensitive child; as one of four brothers and, the least keen for school life! School zeal was limited for only: English and Art, Showing aptitudes for English composition and abstract painting to win successive Art prizes at end of school terms. I wrote my first poem of any note at 12 yrs of age and, at the same age, received my first Art prize - a book! Whilst self-educating and maturing, I seldom focused my creative energies until middle-age therein writing a sci-fi novel moreover Art sales and single poems published. Sharing to facebook poetry groups during the last decade, I now share within this book a gleaned compilation to create a unique, imaginative and fact based, eclectic anthology: ‘Heights and Depths of Wonder’ of personal muse, reveries, emotions, moreover profound empathic links with creation and nature, to link with you the reader.

Gerald Weeks - a born Londoner is a creative poet of great observation and perception. He has a global appeal because of his eclectic poetry celebrating wonders of this Earth and beyond. His second Anthology titled -’Lengths and Breadths of Wonder’ of is a sequel to his first Anthology - ‘Heights and Depths of wonder’. What I love about his poems that his themes are varied and his muse is the beauty of his imagination inspired by his own personal experiences of God, the human spirit, life and all living beings with elements of Nature. He is classic in his taste and very well read with exhaustive vocabulary at his disposal. His love for the deity and Nature is evident in all his poems. He is spiritual to the core and believes in the serenity of virtues and extols universal values.His poems are a journey of his own thoughts and philosophy of life observing the scents of time. It is a meeting point of his observation and reflection at an intersection of his wandering emotions and feelings with a higher goal of an enlightened mind. Most of his poems are an affirmation that human souls are connected at a higher level like a metaphysical poet.His endeavour is to exemplify and seek sublimity in his own unique poetic expression.
His poetry has the power of sympathy with the poetic truth and beauty by modifying colours of beauty by imagination which has a magical power with the proportionate reconciliation of sameness with differences. Gerald Anthology offers a panoply of poetic forms, themes, images,and delights.The book offers a range of poetic vision and insight; a mastery of words and forms, and an array of subjects into a kind of verse with a little of something for every lover of Poetry.His subjects range from banality of urban life ; to man-made calamity ;the intimacy of love and affection to the inevitability of change ; the interaction of culture and creation, and the immensity and the wonder of the cosmos.
I am confident that this Anthology shall reach out to readers in the length and breadth of wonder with all its enormity of style and panache.

51368.png51370.pngIntroduction: Mind Relates
Relatively speaking, I am thinking as I ponder my written input for both esoteric and generic audience; one can think or sound awake to listen to that which echoes as an alarm yet harmless ; a deliberate attempt to dissuade myself from being half-full, if a pot of ponder fails abjectly of total comply - I often wonder why this is so, if not so immeasurably extensive if being pensive; one cannot store ponderings in data-banks that are left to taint and render faint; such is the ado that no end will ensue if I don’t accrue them as renewed anomalies, or fireballs to extinguish; I therefore filter out somewhat if I believe the sieve is to conceive of it ;
I figure if I reckon so intently, I will tire of wondering if pondering is wired to repress or suppress, or just another process I have to monitor; by the way, no relatives are speaking - only objectivity and subjectivity - it was me all the time ! And it follows as inspired or from my imagination - at least as my original after-thought - it’s all quite eclectic, varied, and ongoing.. If a mind relates to the following : Lengths & Breadths of Wonder.

Poets%20Muse.jpgMy little Muse
M y little angel, my pretty little evangel, I co uld
see you fly under the tree’s petite leaves as living
underlings; inaudibly you flap, imperceptibly you clap;
so gentle, so pretty, so elemental, just to inspire me.
M y flight of fancy-free in the gentle breeze , a
little missive will please if you just message me.
M y little fairy, my flirty little contrary; I should see you
wearing wings as elegant as fragrant gossamer; fly above
me sweetly to rise and dive as a tiny heart beating for me;
do so keep nectar for me, replete to arrive in my hive alive.
M y sprite of light mobility, in the rays of
sunlight to energize; my little Mr or Miss,
deliver a prize of sun-kiss to me.
M y little delicate canvas that I picture, as my little ne xus
of scripture, I stood in awe of your art- palette and your
words:; my miniature, my diminutive, my lad or ladette;
my demure alluring air-cadet; my butterfly-filigree in forest
or field, my little nectar-merchant, selling words to me.
Partners in Rhyme
T ime for a dime in fine-fettle to find a slot thro ugh
a tangled web; a brain- nettle leaves no leaf unused
of sting in a poet - full of burning as poignant
kindling; a primed bomb of mind applied, supplied
as an oil for a kind of barmy mind- metal;
Hindering somewhat, but not of telling prose; it’s not that
which knows the plot of the unrolled - the ongoing, it’s
more a flowing verse of back-tide in reverse, waves that
settle a calm before the serene in metaphor dream of
REM-sleep - blinking words that scatter to reassemble and
pretend to tremble in reveries prize-kettle - boiling over
the point of sounding sublime, to anoint wordy inking;
Only then the holy- smithy emerges ere other pens daft
needle that surges as a vessel, injecting into a mind that
thinks in ink; methinks in poems blind-song that hums like
a hummingbird’s need for nectar- curd, as it stabs the hub
of a petal in spirit, and complicit with all bards adored, for
they plead assonance and innocence of sublime inking.
Loved and Gloved
F ingered kindred, be they as gloves - a multi-finge red
holy-warming; loves each day, week, month or year - I
weave friends until the ensue accrues a thousand score;
warming hearts with words in prayer, healing human-
extends as digits being covered by word-stool adore.
M y knitted-needles penned woven words, looped or
blended in coloured balls, endless extends of length
and breadth - from which I knit my multi-prong gloves;
my little, factual, fractional-strength, my love-gloves be
thermal-gliding doves, woolly-feathered, carrion birds.
N or do I tire of knitting rows of rainbows that bef its
friendships - uniting hearts woven as one golden
knuckleduster; my sheep-skinned units fingered into
notions, my ink-emitting probes become interlocking,
deft, finger-stockings, as the rest of the ladder exits.
L eft and right, two-prong growth stretc hes
and grips as gentle talons outreach; heart-to-
heart, love extends as love equips fingers; together
adjacent, inseparably apart, my spool has miles
of war-pen, and from an ink-well it ever sips.
Love in Arts
M y love in words is music to me from one deity of verse I sprinkle on strings taut - to dust with innuendo that which reaches high or low intense sensitivity; tension varies in crescendo as the licensee trembled on a web that a spider weaves spinfully; real or imagined colour - piano keys - ebony and ivory play stereotypic ally.
M y love in words is from some laity-stanza of bust or bonanza - speculatively; I groom to brush the gloom or boom productively, I am tactile or crude in pictionary credulity; I am fertile of palette with brush-strokes inking lyrical; inspiring lush rainbow-bands of capricious capacity, produced from basic mush paint erly.
M y love for words is poetry
