About this ebook

Everyday Communication is a book that looks at how the environment and perceptions define and impact how mankind, entities, and nonhuman beings communicate. The book also tries to analyze how communication affects culture or how culture itself impacts on how we communicate. Man-made structures and natural phenomena impact the way human beings and nonhuman beings communicate or communication between human beings and nonhuman beings.

    William Murinda- Author

William Murinda was born in Umtali, Manicaland Province of Zimbabwe in Africa. All his education was by distance education from Zimbabwe Junior Certificate, Ordinary level with University of London, Advanced level with University of Cambridge, Bachelor of Business Administration with Newport University, Masters in Business Administration with Midlands State University (Zimbabwe), PhD in Business Administration with St Linus University. My thesis was on The Impact of Inflation and Interest Rates on Operational Efficiency of Rural District Councils.

William Murinda has worked in the Public Service of Zimbabwe from 1986 to 1988 as an accounts clerk, joined Deven Engineering (Private) Limited of Southerton, Harare as a management accountant from 1988 to 2001, and served Nyanga Rural District Council, Manicaland Province, Zimbabwe as a chief executive officer from 2001 to 2003.

Lecturing became a passion at the early period in life. The first assignment as a lecturer was at Trust Academy in Harare in 1999, specializing in cost accounting for Institute of Administration and Commerce, Southern Africa Association of Accountants and Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators.

The lecturing passion lived on adding more and expanding specialization. Corporate Governance, corporate finance, auditing and financial accounting were added for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Southern Africa Association of Accountants, and Institute of Administration and Commerce.

The lecturing passion was practiced at Speciss College, 2012 to 2014, Pace College 2010 to 2011, Genesis College 2012, ILSA Independent College 2012 to 2013, RECO College Harare, 2010 to 2014 and University of Zimbabwe Department of Accountancy- Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) Programme.

The author enjoys writing presentations of economic and financial analysis at macro level. More than ten presentations on Zimbabwe National Budgetary and Economic Analysis were made at Spot FM Radio of Zimbabwe from 2010 to 2014. Four presentations were made at Brooks Credit Consultants of Harare in 2012 to 2013 covering effective debt collection.

Two presentations were made for Southern Africa Association at Mandel Training Centre in Harare 2010 and City of Dondo in Mozambique in 2012, focusing on Management Accountant as a Strategist and Non Financial Performance Indicators.

The greatest pleasures in presentations were tasted when I presented ten papers at Sandton Conference Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa from 2010 to 2011 for ABS International Republic of South Africa. The papers presented ranged and varied from financial modeling to challenges of global terrorism finance.

At ABS International, I battled for honors with presenters from as far afield as United Kingdom, Australia, Kenya, Malawi and other countries, doing well in originality and concept applications.

    Preface

An Eagle has unique skill and determination and its prey is often caught unawares

    (William Murinda 2016)

Everyday communication is designed to help the reader understand about communication processes in action that could be around him, apply common communication techniques and to prepare for examinations in Communication for Accounting, Business and Administration programs at certificate, diploma and some degree programs.

Burma Valley, in Eastern Highlands Zimbabwe.

The creator was so thoughtful in the creation of perpetual life on earth for all living things!

    (William Murinda 2016)

What is the communication in physical features?

The book could be helpful to members of professional bodies doing Business Administration and Commerce, Management, and related tertiary programmes.

The author deliberately chose a commercial tone and practical approach to motivate the reader to observe communication in action around him or her and look at the world of various disciplines at large.

    How do beliefs affect communication?

Man’s concepts can be inappropriate and confusing! Life is Priceless, Irredeemable yet Very Precious. Its Loss is Irrecoverable! Demise is forever permanent! As such, there is no antidote and remedy for body and spiritual detachment
