About this ebook

Recent law school graduate Nevaeh Simmons is primping in the lobby while waiting for her second interview with a prestigious law firm when she meets Tyler Jones. He is six-foot-six with honey-colored eyes and a smile that could melt Mount Everest. Tyler is not only the man who will be interviewing her for a coveted position at Jones, Baker, and Morris, but also the man who has the ability to make her hungry for much more than a job.

A short time later after Nevaeh is hired, she finds herself weakly attempting to fend off advances from Tyler, who is married and obviously attracted to her. She is a virgin with a foreboding feeling and he is relentless in his pursuit of her body. But when she witnesses a shocking scene between Tyler and a client, she runs away in fear from him. As a chain of surprising events unfolds, Nevaeh must dig deep within to find the courage and determination to stand up and do what is right for her and for women everywhere.

In this tale of passion and inner-strength, a young woman attorney is led down an unexpected path after she begins working for a handsome law partner with immoral intentions.

    Prologue

Somebody should have told Nevaeh, all that glitters ain’t gold.

I was standing in the lobby waiting for the elevator. It would be my second interview with Jones, Baker, and Morris, the most prestigious law firm in Washington State.

I stood staring at myself in the mirror to make sure I looked presentable. I was meeting with the partners, and from what I had heard through the grapevine, I was competing against an Ms Glenda Baker, one of the partner’s distant cousins. I wondered if nepotism would come into play.

My hair was perfect—not a strand out of place. My teeth and my breath were excellent. I wore a black Armani pinstriped suit, black Christian Louboutin shoes, diamond-studded earrings, and a white gold diamond teardrop necklace. I looked professional and dressed for the job.

A voice said, You look just fine.

I turned around to see who was complimenting me. My mouth fell open, and I couldn’t close it. Oh my God, I thought.

The vessel behind me was six foot six and 180 pounds of pure muscle. He had the prettiest caramel complexion, eyes the color of honey, and a smile that would melt Mount Everest. He was gorgeous.

Thank you, I said after descending back to earth.

The elevator doors opened, and we pressed the button for the nineteenth floor at the same time. A surge of bliss shot straight to my va-jay-jay and caused the nectar to gush down my thighs when our hands touched. I broke out in a fine sweat on my upper lip, and my beaver began throbbing uncontrollably. For the first time ever, I think I had an orgasm.

Jones, Baker, and Morris occupied the entire nineteenth floor, and it was evident we were heading to the same office.

My elevator companion extended his hand. Hello. My name is Tyler Jones. And you are?

Nevaeh Simmons. I extended my hand. Nice to meet you, Mr. Jones.

Do you have an appointment with one of the partners?

Yes, sort of. I’m here for a job interview. It will be my second interview.

That’s a positive sign, Ms—or is it Mrs. Simmons?

    It’s Ms Simmons.

Tyler smiled and informed me that he heard the partners were extremely particular about who they hired. A thorough background check is done before even considering interviewing you. If you were called for a second interview, you’re almost in there.

The elevator stopped, and the doors opened.

    I turned and thanked him.

    Knock ’em dead, Tyler responded.

I was escorted to the conference room for the interview. I had arrived a little early. I liked getting a feel for my surroundings and basking in the atmosphere.

At one o’clock on the dot, the conference room door opened. Mr. Baker and Mr. Morris introduced themselves and informed me that Mr. Jones was on a call
