PROVERBS
-Never show your hand
Until you are beginning to play your hand
Else you give those to which you play against
Time to adjust for your attack
-It is the one that dips in the cup with you
That indeed does you most harm
For he is the one you least expect
-Failure is but another opportunity
To succeed
-Watch the one that whispers in your ear
For often poison flows from their lips
-Choose to live, and you will live to choose
I SAW GOD YESTERDAY
I saw God yesterday
Though He was not in a church
I saw God yesterday
Though He was not on the mountain
I saw God yesterday
Though He was not riding the sea
I saw God yesterday
Though He was not on Capital Hill
I saw God yesterday
Though He walked not amongst the kings and presidents
I saw God yesterday
Though He was not amongst the preachers
I saw God yesterday
Though He was not heading a religious assembly
I saw God yesterday
In a small corner of an isolated street
A street that man had long forgotten
Nestled among wrinkled News Papers of no news
I saw God yesterday
Glaring back at me with eyes so pure
From an orphanage filled with innocence
And hope and love unfeigned
I saw God yesterday
Walking the sinful pavement of city streets
Hoping someone would see Him
And invite Him in
I saw God yesterday
Outside of the marble church
With pretty stained glass windows
Hoping for somebody to pray
I saw God yesterday
Going into a shack where Christmas had long forgotten
But love was heaping abundance
I saw God yesterday
Sitting and laughing upon Skid Row
Of better tomorrows and temporary sorrows
With souls that time had simply burrowed
And tossed on the road with no plans to follow
I saw God yesterday
And I brought Him home with me
And asked Him to use me to be
The light for others to see
The God that is inside of me
As deep as the ragging sea
But shallow enough for the failing eyes to see
The conditions and situations that would not let me be free
