Near death, her son is protected by a police officer she loved. She asks that this officer take care of him out of the life of criminals near to her. At the end, he learns of her life near a murder and her life as an opera singer. He gives his life to God also.

Lucia DeRose

The author, Lucia, is an actress with a small part in the movie A Bronx Tale and Marci X. She studied at Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute (1986–1987) in New York City. She studied method acting and Shakespeare with teacher Ted Zurkowski. She also studied with David Gideon, who was head of Lee Strasberg with Anna Strasberg. She also writes songs. She studied registered nursing at Felician College, Lodi, New Jersey, which she stopped to become an actress. She is a graduate of the Jose Silva method of mind control, the Forum, and the Power to Unleash by Tony Robbins. She has an ethnicity of Italian heritage and is from the city of Orange, New Jersey, which inspired some of the book. She likes to sing, write, paint oils, and act. She studied ballet at New Jersey School of Ballet (owned by Edward Villella) and Gail Desantis Dance Studio in Orange, New Jersey.

Chapter 1

Shots fired Percelli is hit. It’s his arm. The 2 officers chase suspect on roof of building on Central Ave. Costello yells officer down get help on his radio. The suspect go down the roof –– jumps, runs across someones yard. Officer Tommy Fusco runs after suspect, gets closer – Stop Police. He the suspect trys to climb a fence. Shots are fired, his leg is hit. Suspect down. Tommy cuffs black man and calls for back up. An ambulance comes, Percelli’s arm bleeding, took him to OMH Hospital where he is rushed into surgery; other man, suspect is taken in a rescue squad ambulance to OMH too.

2 officers Tommy Fusco and Costello proceed to a squad car.

Proceed to station there Chief Morelli meets with both officers.

Chief Morelli – Tommy – what are you doin? You had to shoot the dam guy – these blacks are gonna go crazy, damn black (Tommy)

Tommy is trying to rob the pizzeria. What was I suppose to do? He would not stop. I hope (chief)

Chief the Negro lives you screwball. Your suspended till further notice.

(Tommy) What you mean – Tommy says → He had a weapon – he shot Percelli.

Chief – The guy has no gun looks like one of you shot him.

Tommy – What are you implying Tommy says.

Chief – You know the chief says you and Percelli are at each others throat.

Chief – I gotta keep you off work till this blows over. I know your a good cop Tommy but you just have a short fuse when it comes to your temper.

Chief – The force thinks you did this over Cirelli’s daughter’s case, since she was raped you blame Percelli for not arresting Tomaselli’s son – he knew it’s him causing it. No proof to arrest him. Closed case.

Chief – Shes your relative I know – but you can’t mix family business with police work. Go home air your head out, come back in 3 weeks I’ll make it look like nervous exhaustion. Keep it quiet now. I’m doin you a favor I know your a damn good cop.

Tommy – What about the Negro whats gonna happen to him, – had some pot on him

Chief will let him walk on a misdemeanor the prosecutor will cut a deal he’ll walk keep these blacks quiet so we don’t have a riot.

Chief – Quentin Walker is runnin for council; I’ll talk he’ll keep these blacks in check.

Tommy – Going home to wife Laura Lee.

Laura Lee – What the hell happen Tom? Tom → Police shit you know what there doin to me. It’s Cirelli’s daughter’s case hurtin my life. They think I have a chip on my shoulder now. Cause they never arrested the Tomaselli kid – you know he did it – so they let it go –– His father’s the D.A.

(Tommy) Bull shit, Rocco Z has all the wire taps to prove it and can’t use this shit –– not legal.

Tommy we gonna get the kid hooked on junk – maybe the croce kid could do it for us – will ask Marty Generelli – you know he has the Newark connections plus his Las Vegas pals. We’ll make it look like it’s him.

Get the Tomaselli kid a prostitute from Paroe St – a good mulato one – a real beauty – she could do it for us ok.

Tommy – I think I’ll do my music again and leave this God damn police force. Better off I turn my badge in. Percelli’s doin fine if he lives God damn turncoat Italian – cheats all the time with the Irish broads in Maxwells bar. Their all saints these cops, bookmakers near him all the time – crooked f’in cop.

Tommy the elections next week – you work for Marty – make it look good then will ask him for a favor concerning the Cirulli kid. Cook some gravy – have him over will talk re: the election then drop the news to him. I’m sure he’ll help – he loved the Cirulli girl – you know how close he is to her father, case close it’s a done deal.

Marty Generelli – Hey Laura Lee how you and Tommy doin? Heard about the shooting! How’s Percelli doing – these blacks are gettin out of control!

Tommy – Well they think he was high on somethin. Laura Lee – made gravy want to come in for some macaroni. Sure maybe we can talk about the election for council.

Marty – You know Tom the chief Morelli has his cops coming in my gas station and now my restaurant. You know I’m no bookmaker.

Marty – I leave that stuff to the masher and Diana Depasquale, I’m only a gambler; now these wise guys from Newark are coming into my restaurant and the chief has me a mafia man in the Luciano Family. I know lucky from Las Vegas and all the Jews from working here with Warren Rosen Baum as Deputy Mayor.

You think it will help me win the election. I need Laura Lee’s help.

I know my brother James was a good councilman but I have no college that Rufulo kida a big time attorney now. He looks real good. Do I have a chance?

Tommy – I can help you but you gotta tell your daughter Renee her husband can’t turn the Villa into a club. I know business can pickup but if you turn this into a go go joint these cops will ruin all your business. It’s a family town. Jakes not listening. He has his mother and my daughter Renee runnin things.

(Marty says) Marty – He’s my partner he gave me 10 G’s so he won’t leave me alone. What do I do your a good friend Tom – Laura Lee’s brother’s in council.

Marty – Should I run since Chief Morelli’s breathing down my back?

Tommy – Give it a shot – you know I’m a cop and I deal with all their garbage – crooked damn cops in this town – all Irish broads with them, Marty – ALL the Irish help me and wife – It can be a good thing as long as your on the up and up.

St Valentines Church is mixed Italian and Irish. Our kids get better they get the education we could never get. They don’t have to work with a pic and shovel.

Tommy – Your right. The Fallon kid helped me on the force with this Chief Morelli – We all know the Wiggins girl had an abortion cause of him.

Now, poor girl has to be on tranquilizers; a good Catholic girl.

Marty – It’s a shame

Tommy – Well the election we should have Rocco Z to wire tape the cops and the Rufulo kid; you know the chief’s backin him so it’s a tough race. Rocco will dig up the dirt on him. He and Tommy the chiefs son are best friends. He looks clean only thing he does is cheat on Angela once in awhile with that blonde from Garfield.

Marty thanks for dinner gotta go home to Barbara now.

Stay close will talk again.

I’ll have my daughter Francesca & son Jojo get the flyers out for the election. Gonna go to the printer. Laura Lee can work the poles for me. Cao!

Chapter 2

Dominic Brasco and Anthony Demiano at Marty’s house.

Marty lets go to Roosevelt or Yonkers.

Anthony – Marty wait till after the election you are looked at by everyone.

If you go to the race track now you will hurt your votes at the poles.

Marty – Your right. We’ll go to the Villa – Gino made some pasta and the fish for us. I think it’s the blue fish – never had it that good.

Dominic Brasco – Marty I’m low on money don’t worry I’ll take care of it. You & Anthony eat on me.
