    THE CHRONICLES OF THE BARON

    SCRIPT

    (Music; Private eyes)

It’s been several months since the events of Sarah Anderson had passed. The cool chill of late September could be felt in the air.

In the five months that have passed, several things have changed… . Agness Hennisson has moved out of her house, leaving it to her brother Robbie. Opting to reside with The Baron at his house.

Lowanna, choosing to stay in town for an undetermined length of time, moved in with Liz. Taking her old room back in the apartment.

Candice, being accepted into the family and becoming another one of Liz’s daughters also moved in with her new ‘Mom’. Giving Lowanna a ‘good run’ for the room. Marci, ‘dead bolting’ her door to keep them from trying to take her room. It’s the second largest bedroom in the apartment.

Atom was becoming more intelligent than ever, thanks to Marci and Marissa. Kept in check by restrictions put on him.

Larry was quickly becoming known in the judicial circuit as ‘The Bull’, not backing down from ‘a fight’ and helping District Attorney Paul Guiderno win every case that was accepted, including the Tolborn indictments.

Mr. Thomas accepted Chief of police Tyler Aimes’ offer and is now the head Forensics Instructor at the Police Academy Forensics’ Division. Still working part time as a police officer and teaching forensics’ classes at the Police Department.

Chief of Police Tyler Aimes received a commendation for his small part in the apprehension of Lawrence Tolborn and his accomplices. (A ‘small notch’ in his post.)

Victor Edington (Dragon Eddie) decided to stick around and learn what he could from the girls. (Marci and Marissa) Sometimes asking Atom to ‘break it down’ for him into simpler terms, which Atom did… . When he could!

Lola, still seeing Nathan. Finally telling him the truth, Introducing him to her Uncle. After the initial shock and surprise, Nathan wanted to work things out between him and Lola. Nathan not willing to give up on a relationship with Lola, making her very happy.

Rufus, still running the pool hall. Having Robbie and the other guards coming by weekly for a ‘boys night out’ with him Richi, Vic, and Mr. Thomas. Setting up a tournament type pool event.

Roland and Laticia, getting so many requests for dinning reservations on the roof, (After The Baron and Agness’ visibly noted dates and apparent success.) got the permits, made the necessary requirements, and opened ‘D roof’! Being completely booked by couples until seasonal closing at the end of October.

Jody and Trent, doing extremely well with the limo service. Hiring on new drivers, Miguel and Tyrell.

‘Beca’ and ‘Kat’ also became employed. Working at Rolando’s as hostesses. (Roland needing the extra help for the overflow of customers.)

Barthalamue got serious about law and the financial aspect, attending the law classes offered at the high school along with the sit in classes. Excelling very well, keeping pace with the others while holding a part time job… at Sam’s grocery store.

Agness, still going to work daily, mostly with Vic. (Her lab completely upgraded thanks to the Associates.) The two trying to comprehend and solve the riddle of Marci and Marissa. Not related, not even at the genetic level, but when they’re together… the normal approach to science… . OUT THE WINDOW ! They’ve created more new compounds, chemicals, and elements in the past five months than most scientists have in decades!

Richi still hangin’ with his ‘bro’, keeping watch over the City. And D-Day… The Baron… still keeping an eye on Johnathan Price… No movements from him or his contacts… . None whatsoever! . . . . Not even a phone call! Price being so cautious he no longer calls or deals direct… . Months of surveillance only to bring… . Silence! All thinking that Price had given up and ended his plans (whatever those plans were.) But The Baron knew… The game was just getting started, and someone else was running things for Price…

The Battle of Wits had just begun!

    DAY 1

(Music; Another brick in the wall)

The newly refinished fifteenth floor of the Jacobs and Hennisson Accounting and Investments Firm. A meeting of the executives was taking place in the boardroom.

Johnathan Price (standing at the head of the large oval table) was finishing his speech.  . . . . and so taking into account her long standing portfolio, years of company time, training and service, and her many successful acquisitions, showing that she is the right person for the job… . I give you ‘Veronica Pierce’! (The board members applauding.) Congratulations Veronica. said one of the board members.

It’s Ms. Pierce! Thank you! she replied (in a stuck up manner.)

That concludes our meeting for today. Thank you all for attending. (Johnathan ending the meeting.) The board members began to get up and leave the boardroom.

So! Where’s my office going to be? Veronica asked Price.

    It’s right across the way!

    Isn’t that Tolborn’s old office?

    Yes it is!

No offense, but I want another office! she said as the last of the members were exiting the boardroom.

What’s wrong with that office? . . . It’s been completely renovated and newly remodeled! he asked as she walked around the table. (running her index finger along the table top as she continued to the head of the table.)

I don’t wanna have to smell the blood of ‘losers’ all day, every day!

Alright then! Pick any office you want, except mine, and it’s yours!

(Looking at Price) I’ll take this one! (dropping herself into the large chair at the head of the table.)

    What?! . . . The boardroom?!

Yes! Have this stuff out by morning and have my office set up when I get here! . . . . And leave the chair as she got up. (Walking towards the door.)

    What a BITCH! said Price.

(Stopping at the door and turning around to face him. Not stunned. Not even phased by his comment.) What was that?

No wonder why I picked you!

Then it’s not just for the sex is it! (Turning and continuing through the door, shaking her ass in her short, tight, black, business suit skirt and black heels. Waving at him with her right hand over her head, leaning back slightly and looking back as she went out the door.) I’ll see you later!

(The Baron, sitting in the 300) Anything today Atom?

Nothing to date ‘D’. The last communication from Price was a little over four and a half months ago! It advised his contacts to move their operations, change identities, and no longer use any phones and numbers that could lead back to them… or him. I haven’t heard a thing since… . Sorry ‘D’!

It’s okay Atom. He’s good at playing hide and seek. . . . . Real good!

Atom, let me borrow your thoughts for a minute.

Go ahead ‘D’, I’m all ears!

    Price collects money and weapons.

    Check!

His collaborators give him money, but get nothing in return.

    Check!

It’s a long term plan, but he puts the brakes on thinking he might get caught.

    Check!

We don’t know his plan, but we do know he’s not done yet.

    Check!

His plan must have a time limit. It doesn’t make sense to collect all that money and stock pile that much hardware!

    Check!

Run it through your brain a bit… . Have Marci and Marissa help out! I need some answers! replied The Baron. (sitting in the 300, drinking a mango fruit smoothie, waiting.)

Agness jumped into the car. Thanks for picking me up ‘D’. (Giving him a kiss on the cheek. The Baron’s mind on other things.)

‘D’, are you at it again? . . . He hasn’t made a move in months! He must of given up by know!

No he hasn’t! He just found another way! . . . It might be slower, but he’s still moving! I have a feeling he’s gonna start moving again… full-bore! And I’m gonna stop him!

How can you be so sure ‘D’?

    I can feel it Aggie… . I can just feel it! . . . . Hey Lola?

Yeah Unc, (The reply on the phone almost instantaneously thanks to the girls and Atom.) what’s up?

Do you and Nathan wanna do lunch?

Sure, why not! . . . Where do you want to meet?

How about the outdoor café? It’s kind of warm today! And there’s no breeze.

    Okay, how’s twenty minutes?

    Sounds good! See you there!

Arriving at the outdoor café, Agness and The Baron got out of the 300. Atom, take a look around. See if anything odd is going on.

Gotcha ‘D’!(Atom closing the doors and driving off.)

Are you sure it’s safe to let him go out on his own ‘D’? Agness asked with some concern.

He’s a good kid Aggie… . He’ll be fine! The Baron replied as he and Agness walked up to the café.

Raul approached. Good day Senior Baron… Ms. Hennisson! (Tipping his head to the two.)

    Good day Raul. replied Agness.

    Hello Raul. said The Baron.

May I seat you somewhere next to the outdoor heaters?

Oh that’s okay Raul. We’re meeting family here… Oh! There they are! Agness waving to Lola and Nathan. The music at the outdoor café playing. (Love will keep us Together)

Please allow me! (Raul escorting them to the table.)

Hello Aunt Aggie. Hello Mr. Baron. Nathan greeted the two. (Agness giving him a hug. The Baron shaking his hand.)

Hi Aggie, Uncle ‘D’! (Lola greeting the two.)

Hi hon! replied The Baron. Hello Nathan. (The Baron giving Lola a hug as did Agness.)

Sitting down, the four ordered lunch and drinks.

I’ll have it right out sir’s, Madam’s. (Raul heading for the cooking area.)

    So how’s everyone today?

    Fine Uncle.

Nathan asked, You were in some kind of hurry yesterday, weren’t you Mr. Baron?

    I’m sorry… When?

Yesterday… you were in kind of a hurry. I said Hi, but you just blew right past me. You must have been preoccupied or something.

    Where was this at Nathan?

Over at the park, across from the firm. The other guards told me that they saw you there over the past few days.

Nathan, are you sure it was me? (The Baron with an odd look on his face.)

Yes, I’m positive! (Nathan giving The Baron a curious look as he was getting up from his seat in a hurry. Agness giving him a look also and then following.) Excuse us kids.

    What’s wrong ‘D’?

Sorry kids, I’ll have to take a rain check on lunch. Something’s come up! he said as he walked away.

(Raul coming back to the table with drinks.) Senior Baron? (Turning with the tray of drinks as The Baron went by.)

Go ahead Raul. Take care of them… . It’s on me, guys! (The Baron hastening his departure.)

Agness asked again with serious concern. ‘D’, WHAT’S WRONG?!

Atom, get over here right away! . . . . He’s on the move Aggie!

Who? she asked as Atom pulled up and opened the doors.

    JOHNATHAN PRICE!

Agness (getting in the 300) asked, How do you know?

I haven’t been near the firm in months. Now I’m being seen around the place by Nathan and the guards? . . . . I’ve been with Richi target practicing at the range and reviewing case files! . . . . I haven’t even been near that side of town! Something’s up! Atom, see who’s been in town lately that looks a lot like me.

I’m checking all incoming bus, train, and flight records for the past six months and… . Huh! This is odd!

What is it Atom? asked Agness.

What did you find? asked The Baron.

I was checking outgoing traffic as well ‘D’ . . . . it shows you left for Washington… at the end of May!

What?! He’s right here! . . . He’s been right here the whole time! exclaimed Agness.

It says you returned a week ago!

Atom did they use an I.D. for the ticket? The Baron asked.

Yes! The picture will appear in a moment, but the quality is bad due to the outdated software on their part. (Looking at a slightly blurry picture.) Atom can you clean it up?

    I’ll do what I can.(Cleaning the image.)

‘D’, That is you! exclaimed Agness.

I haven’t gone anywhere, unless… Atom! When did Michael leave?

After Sarah’s case was closed, but I don’t have an exact date!

    What about his phone?

    It’s still working, but…

What is it?! asked The Baron.

    I’m locating it’s position… . It’s in an airport locker… in Washington!

    Deric!

Yeah ‘D’! (an immediate response over the phone.)

    What’s going on with Michael?!

I don’t know? We’ve been trying to find him. He just dropped off the face of the earth! . . . He’s been checking in like normal up until about a week and a half ago.

Well, he’s here! . . . And it looks like he’s stalking Price!

WHAT? HAS HE CRACKED OR SOMETHING?!

I don’t know, but we’d better catch him and find out! Atom advise Liz and Richi… lets get to the coffee shop!

Arriving at the coffee shop, The Baron was met by the District Attorney. Paul (Standing at the front door of the coffee shop.) and a couple of police officers were waiting.

Hey Paul, what’s up? (Agness standing next to The Baron, holding him by the arm.)

Mr. Baron… I feel it is my duty to serve you this restraining order, barring you to stay at least five hundred feet from the vicinity or near any standing structure that Mr. Johnathan Price may be occupying.

(The Baron viewing the restraining order along with Agness.) On what grounds? (The anger could be heard in The Baron’s voice.)

We have video surveillance of you stalking Mr. Price at work, in the city, and at his home… . Will you abide by this order or shall we discuss this further downtown?

I’ll stick to the order… . for now! (The Baron entering the coffee shop, furious!)

WHAT THE HELL IS MICHAEL DOING?!

Easy ‘D’, we’ll find out! (Agness trying to calm him down.)

We’d better find him soon or Price is gonna pull off whatever it is he’s doing!

D’! (Deric entering the coffee shop through the store room.) Michael’s gone rouge! (Walking up to The Baron.)

    WHAT?!

He pulled up roots and vanished! He’s running around out here but we haven’t located him yet! . . . He keeps ‘popping in and out’! We know it’s not you because of Atom!

    Atom?!

Yeah! You still have Atom with you at all times. He knows where you are so we know where you are!

    But where’s Michael? asked Agness.

And what’s he up to?! asked The Baron.

I’m not sure yet but… . (Deric interrupted by Liz.) ‘D’! . . . You’d better get over here and see this! Liz calling him over to the T.V. The three walked over to the Television and right into a special news report. Turning down the music in the coffee shop. (Take me on.)

. . . Just moments ago our man in the field caught this image of C.E.O. Johnathan Price being confronted by ‘The Baron’! . . . After an exchange of words ‘The Baron’ shot Mr. Price three times, leaving him for dead! (the four watching the T.V.) Thankfully, the news crew reacted swiftly and paramedics arrived quickly on the scene, saving Mr. Price’s Life!

(Liz in shock) D’! WHAT DID YOU DO?!!! she said excitedly and aloud.

I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING!!! . . . I WAS RIGHT HERE!!! (returning the reply in the same manner.)

‘D’! . . . You gotta get outta here! . . . The cops just left! There gonna be right back to get you! Agness said frantically.

DAMN!!! . . . NOW I GOTTA RUN!!! . . . I’M GONNA FIND MICHAEL AND KICK HIS ASS FOR THIS! The Baron, furious over the occurring events.

‘D’, go hide in the storage bunker across the street! We’ll check on you later! said Liz. As The Baron ran to the back, there was a loud banging at the front door.

Atom, security protocol one! Liz said. (Walking over to the front door, looking out first then opening the door.) The two officers and the D.A. were standing in the entry. (pushing their way in.) Where is he? He couldn’t have gotten far! The shooting was only two blocks over! said one of the officers.

He left as soon as you did! replied Liz.

Search the place! said the officer. Call for backup!

Hey you guys! You break anything and your paying for it! said Liz angrily.

Other officers began to show up and search
