The Epilogue
Romans 8: 35-39
linejpg.jpgWho shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Introduction
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,
declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
King James Bible (KJV)
linejpg.jpgI’m transparent, real and authentic as I share my testimony …
All of the great feats in my life came with me having to exercise extreme faith in God in order to achieve them, the type of faith that is the epitome of only the strong survive
. Throughout my life, not only did I survive my trials, I victoriously overcame them all. To reap the greater rewards that my faith has birthed into my life has ironically made the trials worth enduring.
As I give you a glimpse into my life in somewhat of a chronological order, I will choose to keep the theme I believe to be my life purpose at the forefront of everything I share with you. I hope to inspire you to believe in yourself and never give up on your dreams.
The writing of More Than a Conqueror- A Biographical and Testimonial Memoir is more so a spiritual practice as it is a therapeutic one. This process of writing about my life is and will continue to help me evolve, heal and ascend to a higher consciousness of life and my purpose in it.
It is my utmost desire that through the story of my life and within the pages of this book that you will be inspired to overcome the challenges that you may have to endure in this life. Furthermore, I hope that any inspiration that you may receive opens up the doors to your passion and allows you to go after that which you desire in life. But not merely go after your life’s desire, but go boldly with authority, class and poise regardless of the obstacles that you may face along the way.
Each of us possesses infinite innate power to accomplish anything that we set our minds to. The power that I speak of is the Dunamis power of God; the explosive, demonstrative power that has the ability to shatter the plans, plots, schemes and scams of the enemy. This power allows you to walk in the plans of good and prosperity that God has ordained for each of our lives.
It is in this great knowingness that I was and still am able to conquer any battle that I have faced in my life, thus far. I passionately refuse to allow life to take over me and cause me to live in defeat. Rather, by the grace of God, I have overcome and conquered, and will continue to overcome and conquer all that I have endured, including childhood trauma, alcoholism, a crack cocaine addiction, and so much more.
My life is God’s life and because of this, the innate God-given powers that abide inside of me have allowed me to overcome and prosper in every area of my life. Given the situations in my life that I experienced, it is a miracle that I abide in a healthy, wealthy, victorious, successful and content mindset. I say that with the utmost modesty and humility knowing that life gives us what we desire and ask for.
Every circumstance that I have experienced in my life has elevated me to a higher level of glory in God. Every trial that I have endured, allotted me the opportunity to experience God on a whole new level. Furthermore, each experience brings me back to a place of homeostasis where I remain centered, humbled and open to receive the lessons of the experience. The more I experience, the wiser and stronger I become. The wiser and stronger I become, the more I learn. Learning has no room for ego, so the more I learn, the more I realize I don’t know much at all…I am on a continuous life journey of learning and growth.
Regardless of what I go through, I always make sure to consider the highest good concerning the situation. I always look for the meaning or purpose in everything. I always make sure to yield to the perfect will and plan of God in all that I endure. Honestly, it is by the grace and mercy of God that I not only made it through, but I survived with class, poise, my dignity and without a shadow of a doubt, my praise.
By now, you have somewhat of an idea about my life story. The aforementioned introduction does not contain the in-depth real life situations that I experienced, endured and overcome. So, set any preconceived notions and prejudgments aside and embark on this autobiographical journey of my significant life memoirs.
Within the forthcoming pages of this memoir, I will share with you the innermost parts of my life, its challenges and the divine strategies and tactics that God has given me to overcome them all. I measure my life and its quality based on the amount of glory God gets from me testifying about His goodness, mercy and power in every area of my life. Please keep in mind that as you read, my ONLY intention in sharing this information with you is that you might be encouraged, inspired and motivated by the wondrous working power of God in my life and in yours. Now, allow me to take you further into my personal experience as I advance in the writing of More Than a Conqueror- A Biographical and Testimonial Memoir.
Prelude
Matthew 20:16
So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
King James Bible (KJV)
linejpg.jpgI was walking the streets, desperately looking for a john to meet with. I was a woman of the night, a walking zombie, and I was going to get in the first car that pulled up to the curb. I didn’t care who he was, as long as he wasn’t a cop or a creep. As long as he was spending some dough it was cool with me. When you are working the streets as an addict, you don’t think about the danger. All you really care about is getting more dope. These men out here are rude, repulsive, horny, and desperate. I was just looking for some fast easy money. I knew that if I could get an older guy, maybe even an older white guy, that I would be good for the night. They usually were lonely and just looking for companionship while they got high. Besides, they spent and paid very well. Occasionally, they liked their dick sucked, but that was nothing, because they were quick to satisfy.
There was nothing in the streets but diseases, drugs, guns and police. But I didn’t care. People without addictions don’t understand our thinking. How drugs affect the brain and impair our judgment. I did things while high or fiending for another hit that I’d never do when sober. Life isn’t easy out here in these streets; it’s a culture far different from what anyone can imagine or expect. At any moment of any part of the day or night you could get arrested, raped, robbed, cheated, abducted, shot, stabbed, or strangled and left for dead. Chasing the high came with many risks.
It was a busy night on the block. Dozens of people roamed about doing what they had to do to survive the night: hustlas hustling, prostitutes working, junkies and fiends doing what they had to do to get their next fix. Many of these young women and men had somehow, someway fallen victim to the immense, underground, international cocaine industry, including myself.
A car zoomed past me as I did my crackhead strut down Sigourney Street. My arms swinging faster than my legs were moving, causing my body to look out of sync. Someone yelled from the car window, Yo, that’s my girl!
I realized it was my boy, Tone. We were more like get high buddies. I knew Tone had what I was looking for. He wasn’t in Hartford at two in the morning for nothing. He was out here to cop.
I hopped in the car. Whaddup, baby? You got something?
I eagerly asked; that’s how crackheads greeted one another.
Bout to go and pick up,
Tone managed to mumble as the Newport cigarette pressed between his upper and lower lip dangled up and down when he spoke. Jackpot!
I thought. He would let me get high with him no doubt. There was an unspoken understanding, though. Tone liked his dick sucked when he got a real good hit… guess who would be the one sucking his dick while he got high?
We drove down Sigourney and parked behind an SUV. The driver tapped his brakes; the brake lights went on, then they went off. This was Tone’s signal to go and take care of the transaction. He got in the back seat of the SUV and copped…then we headed to one of our get high spots.
Pull over here, Tone. Let me run in and grab some cigarettes and chore
I said as we pulled onto the avenue. Chore is the filter in the crack pipe and is situated between the flame and crack rock. There is nothing worse than running out of chore and cigarettes while in the middle of a smoking session.
The brisk air hit my face as I exited the car and hurried into the bodega on the corner of Vine and Albany; one of the many 24-hour stores in the hood that sold crack paraphernalia, disguised as average household items.
Hey Poppie
I said to the store clerk as I pointed behind the counter. Let me get a box of Newport 100’s and -–
Pop! Pop! Pop!
…
My heart was thumping…beating so fast that it nearly jumped out of my chest. I heard the screeching of a car as it zoomed down the street and then there was a deathly silence.
Get down,
cried the clerk as he lunged for the floor. They shooting!
Chapter # 1
In the Beginning
Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
King James Bible (KJV)
linejpg.jpgNever in my wildest dreams did I think it would take, going through some of the most difficult life circumstances, in order to know my true identity in God. I had to get in a position of nothingness, in order for me to heed the calling that was placed upon my life. I had to get to a point in my life where I sunk so low that I had to look up to see the bottom. So low that reaching the bottom was making progress. At that particular time in my life,
