    A- BA-BA-BY!!?? AHH-HA! I thought that we were entering into the studying of Mysteries. But you have placed before us Milk! Milk! Milk! I see the bottle. I see the vitamins, (Vitals), 1. Believing, 2. Repentance, 2.Baptism, 3. The Holy Ghost, 4. Holy Living, and 5. The BIBLE. Yes I Know; but I thought that we should be reminded that no one enters into the mystery studies without being reminded that in order to understand mysteries one must know the milk of the word; to develop a biblical word vocabulary. For these are the necessary tenants to understand mysteries. Myteries are for those that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts as saith the prophet Isaac in his book chapter 28:8, 9. This is the area where no mistakes are allowed in doctrines, and precepts.

    The Apostle Paul made mentioned that he had taught the Corinthians church the simplicity of the word of God. (1Cor. 2:1) However, he hinted that the mysteries are reserved for those that are perfect. (1Cor. 2:6) He wrote also in 1Corinthians 3:1, that they still were babes. In Hebrews 5:10 he speaks that they were unskillful in the word of God for they were dull of hearing.

    Paul wrote to the Ephesians' Church that he, and the other apostle had received the revealed mysteries of God. He gave some of them to the Ephesians' Church. (Eph. 3:1-11).

    No church, or saint will be perfect without the study in these mysteries. This has nothing to do with one obtaining salvation, but maybe more so that he may stay saved. And to be able to comprehend with all saints what is the height, depth, width, and length of his salvation.

    Therefore I suggest that we would rehearse, or be taught these fundamental principles of the word of God. And to employ, and enjoy this study in the Mysteries of God!

    PREFACE

    This book is dedicated to the new members of any church This book is also set to forth provide the sincere milk of the word for a newborn saint. The author does not confess that he has exhausted this most vital subject. However, to present the oracles and formula for the babe, these instructions are set forth as a guide in this new birth.

    In these pages you will be exposed to the systematic unfolding of the diet of the saints. The itemized steps show the essential requirements to prepare the saint for the meat of the word.

    Without meat there would not be enough strength to grow to the spiritual strength to endure the onslaught of the adversary. Therefore, the new babe would be destroyed for the lack of knowledge. Let this book be used if it was for no other reason to have an open forum to discuss the obligations of the new saints.

    The Author

    INTRODUCTION

    Abba/Father: No one has the right to speak this word, (Abba), but a son. This word is a bonding, and a filial relationship with child and father. It is a restrictive privilege and it is for heirs only. Men servants and handmaids were forbidden to use this phrase addressing the master. The emphatic meaning is: Touching the palate, or a father nourishing the son for growth. In another way of saying: The son will say, Father feed me for I am hungry. I cry Abba! The children of the bride chamber will not fast while the bridegroom is present.

    "Then came to Him the disciples of John, saying why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? And Jesus said unto them, can the children of the bride chamber mourn as long as the Bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the Bridegroom shall be taken from them and then shall they fast." (Matt. 9:14, 25).

    A child must have a continuing feeding and nourishing for timely growth. His father has set a time for maturity. His growth must be timely. He will not receive the inheritance until he is grown. He differs nothing from a servant, as long as he is a child. He must desire the sincere milk that he may grow thereby.

    "Wherefore laying aside all malice; and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings. As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious." (1 Pet.2:1-3).

    A ba -be needs pure milk. This is to build strong structure. Healthy teeth are being developed so that when the time comes for the child to be weaned, he will then begin eating meat. Meat is for maturity and it establishes the power to endure for a while from one meal. While on the other hand, milk must be kept close by the babe for instant/infant feeding. This means that a babe is not to leave the presence of his mother until it is weaned.

    WHAT IS THE MILK OF THE WORD?

    Milk has to do with first things. Note the following: "For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the Word of righteousness: for he is a babe. ¹⁴ But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." (Heb. 5:12-14).

    The key persons that a baby or neophyte need in its life, are teachers (Father and Mother). The child must be taught phonics. To give a child phonics requires lecture. Lecture is the sounding of a word before the ears to establish familiarity of what is meant from the sound. This is also accompanied with gesture and pounding; Or a pictorial display for hearing and seeing what is lectured. A picture is worth a thousand words.

    The teacher must demonstrate so that a student may imitate. Most learning is derived from observation and participation. A teacher must practice what he teaches. It is important to note this: "Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to His disciples, Saying, the scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not." (Matt. 23:1-3).

    The teacher must be an example of what he teaches. It is striking to note this: "Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end or their conversation." (Heb. 13:7). The word conversation means the conduct, which is to follow the words of the teacher. In the words of the pursuit of philosophy: Idealism requires realism and realism requires pragmatism. Pragmatism is the practical end or the proven end of an idea. All truths and fancies stops there.

    What then is milk? Milk is the same thing that as the subject that is nourished. That is to say, that which is contained in the subject is found in the milk. Meaning; milk must contain the vitamins, minerals, and other substances the body have in its makeup. The milk is only the liquid form of it. It must contain all of the amino acids etc., to maintain a growing healthy body.

    What then is the milk of Word? The milk of the word is those principles, which have brought you into existence, or that by which you were saved. Those are the steps, which brought you into salvation. What were the first things you had to do?

    Let's see the list of the principles that brought us into salvation. "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God. Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment." (Heb. 6:1-2).

    Let's itemize the vitamins in the principles of milk in retrospect.

    1. Eternal Judgment (The white throne judgment).

    2. Resurrection of the dead (The faith in the death burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ).

    3. Faith toward God (The faith in the power of God to save).

    4. Repentance from dead works (The act of Godly sorrow).

    5. Baptisms (The washing away the sins in ones life).

    6. Laying on of hand (The Reception of the Holy Ghost).

    7. Perfection (Maturity).

    ETERNAL JUDGMENT

    Why the subject "Eternal Judgment?" This subject gives the basic needs to present salvation so that a believer may escape the Judgment of God. "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness." (Rom. 1:18). There is a time set when God shall judge the world.

    Based on this truth, everyone is required to make peace with God. As John the Baptist, said unto the Pharisees and Sadducees, "O ye generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? (St. Matt. 3:7). There is a day when God shall judge the world. Therefore God commands everyone everywhere to Repent (Acts 17:30). He gives everyone a privilege to be saved from the wrath to come (1 Thess. 1:10).

    THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD

    There is a time set for all those who have died shall be raised from the dead. Jesus said: "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." (St. John 5:28, 29).

    Daniel said: "And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." (Dan. 12:2).

    When Jesus was raised from the dead the Apostles went forth and preached the Gospel concerning the resurrection of Jesus. By Jesus being raised from the dead, this gives assurance unto all mankind that there will be the resurrection of the dead. This is the fundamental doctrine of faith. That there will be the resurrection of the dead: This is our hope steadfast unto the end. For if the dead rise not there is no need to preach it or to believe it. There is the paramount doctrine that the dead shall be raised and be judged as well.

    The book of Revelation reveals the Great white throne judgment. "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works." (Rev. 20:12-13).

    FAITH TOWARD GOD

    "Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." (Acts 20:21).

    This repentance to God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ is very vital. The beginning of our salvation is when we believe in Jesus Christ as our savior, the savior of the entire world. This is a very key and paramount duty of the minister getting a confession from the candidate for salvation. He must confess that Jesus is the only source of salvation.

    Our faith in Jesus Christ is the beginning of our salvation. No candidate is ready for baptism until this is confessed. When Phillip was preaching to the Eunuch "...they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. ³⁸And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the Eunuch; and he baptized him." (Acts 8: 36-38).

    It is Jesus not Buddha, who is savior. It is Jesus not Mohammed, who is the savior. It is Jesus, not Moses or Elijah who is savior (Matt. 17:1-8; Acts 4:10-12). The Jews did not receive salvation because they would not confess that Jesus was the source of their salvation (Rom. 10:1-17). They simply did not Have faith toward God.

    REPENTANCE

    Repentance is the next principle that must be realized in a believer's life. There is not much emphasis given in the modern day sermons on repentance. Repentance is the true attitude of the penitent sinner. He acknowledges that he is deprave of the righteous or right relationship with God. This acknowledges that he wants a right relationtionship with God. This is accompanied with the sincere desire to quit all evil deeds.

    All the sins of this life will be put on the table to get rid of. This is limited to the amount of deeds that he knows to be sinful. God does not require the sinner to find out what he doesn't know at this time; but only those sins he is aware of at the time. When the new babe is born, his father or Abba must instruct him, about the other things that must be dealt with such as:

    "Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious." (1 Pet. 2:1-3).

    This list is further instructions on the things that must be done away with.

    Malice_ One may have this ill feeling toward another person. Maybe your feeling is because that person has done you wrong, and have treated you so wrongly in time pass, but as Christ forgave you, you also must forgive others. ¹³ "Forbearing one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye." (Col. 3:13).

    Guile_ Guile is a deceitful tongue. That is to say, that if a person tells lies; he has guile in his mouth. There is but one thing in the world that is the truth. If there is any thing else proclaimed, it then is a Lie! If you are forced to say anything, tell the truth. Satan is a liar, and he abode not in the truth. If you speak a lie you are of the Devil for he is a liar from the beginning (St. John 8:44). "Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him:" (Col. 3:9, 10).

    Hypocrisies_ A hypocrite is a person who acts a lie without sayings a word. This person may throw a rock and hide his hand as though he did not throw it. He is a liar just the same.

    Envies_ Envy is a type of spirit, which causes one to desire what someone else has. It is associated with jealousy. Whatever you need, God can give it to you and more.

    Evil Speakings_ Evil speaking has to do with the use of curse and blasphemous words, Such as: swearing, telling jokes, using God name in vain and profanity.

    "But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father: and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be." (Jas. 3:8-10).

    "But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking nor jesting which are not convenient: but rather giving God thanks." (Eph. 5:3-4).

    Under this subject, Repentance from all sins must be dealt with, before and after our salvation.

    DOCTRINE OF BAPTISMS

    There is a doctrine, which deals with baptism. Doctrine is the basic tenets, which require a strict observance to the rule and commandments. A baptism is brought in with the term Doctrine. What then are the doctrines of Baptisms? Baptism is a ritual, which is commanded by God to be done for the remission of sins. The cleansing agent is the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. God has made baptism the contact place for the remission of the sins that Christ died for on the cross.

    It is very necessary to use the name of Jesus in the formula of baptism. Through Baptism, a candidate is identified with Christ, in His death, burial, and resurrection. It is where we enter into the relationship with His burial. The counterpart of the water baptism is the Spirit baptism. Both together equal the one baptism. As the scripture said "One Lord, One Faith, One baptism."

    Some have made an effort to belittle baptism by saying it is not necessary to be baptized. But if Jesus was baptized and commanded us to do so, we ought to do the same. (Mark 16:16) Peter said Repent and be baptized every one of you for the remission of sins. He also said that baptism doth save us. (Acts 2:38; 1 Peter 3:21) The scripture said: "Why tarreth thou arise and be baptized and wash away thy sins calling on the name of the Lord." (Acts 22:16)

    LAYING ON OF HANDS

    The doctrine of the Laying on of the hands is associated with the time when the Believer is seeking for the Holy Ghost. If a believer had not received the Holy Ghost, the minister were to lay hands upon the person who is seeking for the Holy Ghost. Note this:

    "Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost." (Acts 8:14-19).

    Paul does the same thing in Acts 19:1-6. If an individual had not received the Holy Ghost, the practice was to lay hands on them and pray for them that they might receive the Holy Ghost. Jesus said that God gives the Holy Ghost to them that ask for it. (Luke 11:13) Peter said that God gives the Holy Ghost to them that obey Him. (Acts 5:32) Jesus said that the world couldn't receive him. (John 14:14-18) This shows that merely believing does not prove that a person has received the Holy Ghost. From the praying with the laying on the hands causes a person to receive the Holy Ghost, which is evidenced from speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4; 8:15; 10:44; 19:1-6).

    THE ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH

    The thing that a new saint must practice is attending all of the main services as much as possible: So that he/she may learn the customs and doctrines of the church. (Heb. 10:25).

    Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.(1 Cor. 11:1, 2).

    What are Ordinances? The meaning of the term Ordinances is traditions. Tradition is a custom or a practice handed down by predecessors. It shapes the new children or citizens into a certain social mode with fellow adherents and citizens. This would blend in a more accepted social behavior with the related members of the group.

    This is seen in the medium of exchange. A common currency gives a more easy transfer of good and services. When a foreigner comes into another country, he must go through customs. He must go to the exchanger to have his foreign currency changed to the place he is visiting. He must abide by the rules that govern that country.

    Traditions are not always God given. They may be the result of a longtime practice of that socialistic group. The best interest of that person who is visiting is to learn what are the social norms of that group or society. Otherwise, he may have difficulty in associating with the people and become a spectacle. However, if it is shown that he is a foreigner they may well tolerate him.

    Now for the tradition set forth for the church, in the area of public tradition in the context of the above scripture, a woman was to be always in subjection to her own husband. A special headdress was worn to cover her head to show that she was in subjection and conformity with her husband. The head covering is not a commandment, but a custom acknowledged and seen by the apostle Paul in his day. This custom pervaded the social climate of that time.

    The women after they were saved in that day began to take off the headdress, and appeared in public assembly, prayed, and prophesied with their head uncovered. A woman in that day who had not her head covered made it appear that they were available for prostitution and lewdness. It would have been ashamed in that day for a Christian woman to portray herself in that matter.

    Therefore, Paul said unto them it would be embarrassing for Christian women if they did not observe. He wanted them to keep the tradition of that society.

    However, traditions, cultures, and customs changes in the process of time. This is prompting the idea that certain customs or traditions are not relevant for us in the new day, or horizon.

    The three areas of customs that we must not offend are:

    1. The customs of world.

    2. The customs of the Jews (Religon).

    3. The customs of the church.

    THE CUSTOMS OF THE WORLD

    "Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God; Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit but the profit of many, that they may be saved." (I Cor. 10:32, 33).

    This scripture shows that there are three areas we must be careful not to offend.

    THE FIRST ONE IS TO THE JEWS

    RELIGION

    It is interesting to note that there are many people influenced by religious practices that it is impossible not to offend in some points. However, in those areas that we may deal with, we must be careful not to offend.

    For an example if you know that a Jew does not eat pork, don't invite him to dinner and try to serve him barbeque pork chops. Something else you may serve that would not be offensive. This is true in reference to all Religions if you wish to witness to them. You are not to do that which is offensive if it does not contradict or conflict with the word of God.

    For example, if you are to talk with a Muslim you are not to start by saying that Mohammed is a false prophet. You would say more or so this: "Why do you say that Mohammed is the true prophet of God?" In this approach you would put him on the defenses rather than offenses. He would have to put up a defense or defend his idea. This method should be used in all religions.

    THE GENTILES

    It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. (1 Cor. 5:1).

    Though other cases may not be as heinous as this one, we must avoid many cases if they would offend the unsaved, such as the violation of the rights of others. You are not to drive reckless, or getting in front of others that were rightly ahead of you. You are not to allow your yard to become so weedy that it would bring down the value of the neighbor's property.

    THE CHURCH OF GOD

    In a church, there are different administrations and there are different traditions. Some biblical, and some are not biblical. However, in order to gain entrance into a dialogue with anyone of another faith, we must first learn the customs of that group.

    Attending church services are set by tradition. In the Old Testament, the keeping of the Sabbath was a commandment. But since the death of Christ, it is no longer required (Col. 2:14-17). The Sabbath is still carried on by some people in their weekly observance.

    A tradition evolved that certain ones' would assemble on the first day of the week to correspond to the Resurrection of Jesus. This was so often practiced as a tradition until most all Christendom observes the first day of the week to assemble see (St. John 20th chapter; Acts 20:7, and I Corinthians 16:1).

    It is highly recommended that a new convert would faithfully attend the main services, such as mid-week bible classes and special meetings for instructional growth. The Sunday morning service should be the climax or the beginning of the weekly services. In some ways, the sheep must be in weekly contact with the shepherd in his/her attending or excusing oneself from service (Heb. 10:25).

    TITHES AND OFFERINGS

    The tenth part of a person's earning is to be paid at the time of an individual's pay period. A tenth is ten dollars out of a hundred. If you miss church one week then the back tithes and offerings should be brought the next time you assemble (Malachi 3:8-10; Exd. 22:29; Matt. 23: 23; Heb. 7:1-8).

    The giving in other offerings for other reasons such as the building fund is also required as well (Exd. 25:1). There is an offering called THE POOR SAINTS OFFERINGS. (I Cor. 16:1; Acts 20:35).

    THE TRADITIONAL DRESS AND ORNAMENTS

    The customs of dress or costume must be addressed in the new convert's life. In most professions, Clothing carries signs or messages. The mailman, the nurses, the military, doctors, lawyers, harlots, Christians, and almost all forms of life are identified by some mode of dress.

    Clothing sometime has to do with lewdness, or modesty. In addition, clothing had to do with customs and traditions. There is some clothing made to distinguish a woman from a man, simply because there is a difference in a man and a woman. Clothing sometime attracts the opposite sex. They sometime woo or entice the passerby.

    In the time of Israel when God first saw them, they were not enticing. Israel was not an attractive nation until God found her and made her attractive. The scripture said:

    "And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live. I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare. Now when I passed by thee and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread My skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea; I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord God, and thou becamest Mine.

    Then washed thee with water; yea, I thoroughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil. I clothed thee also with broidered work and shod thee with badgers skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.

    I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands and a chain on thy neck. ¹²And I put a jewel on thy forehead and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head. Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work: thou didst prosper into a kingdom.

    And thy renown went forth among t is required he heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through My comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God. ¹⁵ But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was." (Ezek. 16:6-15).

    This shows that clothes enhanced the beauty of Israel and she became attractive and fell in love with many lovers. Hence, the scripture said: "And she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgot me, saith the Lord." (Hos. 2:13).

    The bible warns against the excessiveness in ornaments and requires that our clothing and ornaments be worn in modest apparel (1 Tim. 2:9-10; 1 Pet. 3:1-4).

    The question always arises what is the appropriate dress for men and women. The scripture speaks on the principle behind our public dress on this wise. "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God."

    The principle behind this is that there must be a difference in a woman's and a man's dress. While we are not under the Old Testament law, yet God's principle has not changed.

    Many societies have set the distinction between a woman's and a man's dress. In some societies, it may be the reverse to the other. However, a difference must be maintained. The scripture did not say that a woman could not wear pants, or that a man should not wear a dress. The point is that a difference must be made. In our society, (that is the American society) the pants have always been associated with the man, and the dress was associated with the woman.

    The decals on the public restrooms, suggests the customs of society. The signs, which show the picture of a dress, restrict only for the women. And the signs that shows pants restricts only to the men.

    There seems to be a cultural revolution going on for many of our societies. Since the 1960s, the women have begun to wear the pants or pantaloons, which has been previously worn only by men.

    The things that are so obviously seen, is that only the women are changing their dress mode. The men of our society still wear the pants and men suits. Our society would be greatly shocked if we saw men with blue denims dresses and high heel shoes on.

    The suggestion is that whatever we wear our conscience should be clear that we are not wearing that which pertain to the opposite sex. For the present time we desire that in our coming together to worship we should keep the traditional mode, and that the women wear their dresses and the men wear their pants. If when you leave the church, be sure that you don't wear that which pertains to the opposite sex. God calls that an abomination!

    Yes, traditions, cultures, and costumes changes but Jesus is the same yesterday, today and for evermore.

    A difference must always be maintained to reflect the distinction between man and woman. God in the beginning made them male and female. This will never be changed!

    THE HOLY WALK

    When the Babe is born in the church, he/she must become aware of what is good for him/her as for as social behaviors. Our social functions must not be with drunkenness, smoking, and doping and worldly music. Our life style must completely change. The clubs and the wicked places we use to go must no longer be tolerated.

    "Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God" (2 Cor. 7:1).

    The flesh and the spirit of our bodies must be clean. The smoking of cigarettes is an unclean fleshly lust that defiles the body. The medical fields have determined that smoking can be hazardous to your body. Your body is the temple of the most High God. "What? Know ye not that your body is the Temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." (I Cor. 6:19, 20).

    "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." (Rom. 12:1).

    "Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." (I Thess. 5:22, 23).

    "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind; for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot speakings evil of you: Who shall give account to Him That is ready to judge the quick and the dead." (I Pet. 4:1-5).

    "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, Who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.

    Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which are idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that we have put off the old man with his deeds;" (Col. 3:1-9).

    These are the negative things that newborn babe must not anymore be involved with which were the previous lifestyles.

    There are positive things that a newborn must put on as well such as:

    "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

    And above all these things put on charity, which is the bound of perfectness." (Col. 3:12-14).

    THE ORDINANCE OF COMMUNION

    The other part of the Christian tradition is the practice of the communion service. This is a celebration of the death of Jesus when he took on the sins of the world and died for our transgressions. This service depicts the suffering of Christ agony on the cross for every sinner. The purpose is to show, teach, and remind the saints concerning the suffering of Christ until He comes again. This is to be done from time to time without ceasing.

    There are various customs of churches of how often this is done. Some practice this every time they assemble. The various ones such as the Catholic do each time they assemble. Some observe it once a week as the church of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible Way churches, and the church of Christ do. Some observe it on the first Sunday of the month, as the Baptist do. Some observe it once or twice a year as the Pentecostal, and Apostolic do.

    There are no commandments that say it must be done weekly, monthly, or yearly: but that it must not cease to be observed until the Lord comes. However, the communion service was preceded by the Passover, which was held once a year. The service I suggest that it may be observed at least once a year, as was the custom of the Passover was observed. This shows the one time sacrifice of Jesus for the sins of the world. It is to be accompanied with fasting and repentance from any sins that may have accumulated since ones' salvation.

    This communion service is not to be taken in an unworthily manner: Or in disrespect of the suffering of Christ, and of the unity of the believer. It is a communion, a fellowship, an act of oneness and of doing the same thing for the same purpose with the one body which you and all belongs to. Hence, the Apostle Paul gives regulation to this service:

    "Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse. ¹⁸ For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

    For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. ²⁰ When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's Supper. For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. ²² What? Have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? Or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not. For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which He was betrayed took bread: ²⁴ And when He had given thanks, He brake it, and said Take, eat: this is My body, which is broken for You: this do in remembrance of Me. After the same manner also He took the cup, when He had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in My blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till He come." (I Cor. 11:17-26).

    This custom is practiced throughout most of Christendom. All saints must attend this observance when it is offered at the local church where he/she attends.

    FOOT WASHING

    This custom is also practiced among many church organizations. This is done to commemorate the same thing done on the night in which Jesus established the communion service. The foot washing demonstrates humility and esteeming ones fellow member as being the same as one self. Therefore being no lords over servants: But more so that we ought to be servants to one another. ³ "Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He was come from God, and went to God; ⁴ He riseth from supper, and laid aside His garments; and took a towel, and girded Himself. ⁵ After that He poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith He was girded.

    Then cometh He to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto Him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? ⁷ Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. ⁸ Peter saith unto Him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me. Simon Peter saith unto Him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.

    Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. For He knew who should betray Him; therefore said He, Ye are not all clean. ¹² So after he had washed their feet, and had taken His garments, and was set down again, He said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call Me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. ¹⁵ For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. ¹⁶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them." (St. John 13:10-17).

    PASTORAL OVERSIGHT

    "Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God; whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation." (Heb. 13:7)

    "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account; that they may do it with joy, and not with grief; for that is unprofitable for you." (Heb. 13:17).

    The pastor is the overseer or Bishop of the flock. He must give account to God for every soul who comes into the local church. He is the watchman who ministers to the spiritual welfare of the membership.

    There are directions given to the membership for stability of each member. Do not hesitate to ask him for his assistance in anything. If he can't, then he will put you in contact with the person or agency that should be able to help you.

    The church is a great place for social gathering. For in this society you will find strength and fellowship.

    Be always aware that many negative things may come against you or your family but don't let any of those things move you. Be a good soldier. Be diligent, be faithful, and be an example for the saints and others in letting your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

    As new born babes try your best to get involved in a bible teaching course at your local church. Also, ask your pastor as to what position you wish to work in the church.

    If you are in need for anything don't forget, or don't be afraid to call for your pastor. You should be in touch with only the pastor or whomsoever he may designate for counseling. Do not get any counsel from anyone except the ones the pastor has set aside to counsel new members. Communicate with the pastor whether any other outside of him should be counseling you. For if, you are not careful, the wrong advice can hurt or cripple a new convert.

    Should any problems arise that you can't handle as a new saint, be sure to contact the Pastor or his designee. You can be an Over comer!

    THE METHODS OF JUSTIFICATION

    The methods of justification are slated under these principles, which are:

    A. Justification by Faith

    B. Justification by Grace

    C. Justification by Blood

    D. (Justification by Works)

    After these four elemental principles are employed there are other criterions that must be envisioned. They are:

    A. Activation of faith. (The Believers' Confidence)

    B. Application of Grace (The Forgiveness of sins)

    C. Application of Blood. (The Baptism)

    D. Object of Salvation (The Sinner)

    E. The practical result of Salvation (Holy lifestyle and final state)

    F. (Justification by Works)

    JUSTIFICATION

    May I engage you with the subject: 'Justification' and try to determine what is the art of Justification?

    The word Justification means to validate, or to authenticate that a thing is certain. Much emphasis is given in the bible about the act of Justification. I will at this time give an expositional definition of the term justification.

    This definition taken from the Book of Romans the fifth chapter verses 12-18: "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: For until the law sin was in the world but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

    Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of Him that was to come.

    But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

    And not as it was by one that sinned so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

    For if by one man's offence death reigned by one: much more they, which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness, shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.)

    Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of One the free gift came upon all men unto Justification of life."

    From this passage of scripture one may see the requirements and methods of Justification by using two like circumstances.

    Such as: One-man sinned and all descendants of man became sinners. The balance or justification is that one man lived righteously and all became righteous. In Adam all dies and in Christ all live.

    Note this: For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (1 Cor. 15:21-22)

    When the sacrifices under the law were offered up but they weren't able to pay the penalty of sin. Those sacrifices were the life of animals. Animals are not the same equate of mankind. (Heb. 9:12; 10:1; Matt. 6:26)

    Therefore Justification requires the exact opposite in order to be balanced. It takes a positive to reverse a negative. When this is done there is no imbalance but rather, Justification. When justification occurs there is no negative remainder.

    Thus it is when God Justifies man there is no condemnation. There are no leftover sins. In the consequence of that is; there is no death to the justified. His sins are forgiven. There is no wrong doing of the justifier for the penalty of sin is paid.

    In order to have these conclusions the methodology must be exact or justified.

    THE METHODS OF JUSTIFICATION

    The methods of justification are slated under these principles, which are:

    E. Justification by Faith

    F. Justification by Grace

    G. Justification by Blood.

    H. Justification by Works

    JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH

    Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. (Rom. 3:28)

    The phrase Justification by Faith is an age-old flag flown by those who say that there is no other method, or effort needed by the believer to receive salvation. We will examine whether this phrase along is justified. Is the believer completely saved by mere faith along? Or what is the intent of the term faith? Could we say that faith is directional and not Omni directional? Meaning to what, or who is our faith directed to.

    Faith should be directional. We must put our faith in the one who justifies. Faith in anything is not a salvational step. A believer faith must be singled toward the person who meets, or authenticates his justification.

    The one, who authenticate the sinner, propitiates the believer.

    This brings in the person who is to be the object of our belief. This person must pass the test of qualification so that he may be used for that stated purpose. How then must this be done? The law, or act of condemnation must do the testing. That is the act (law) that condemns the sinner must be placed on the person so it may be determined that he passed the test.

    To be more exact Christ came to first of all be tested by the law. Gal: 4:4; Rom. 1:20 And was made under the law so that he may become the righteous sacrifice for the atonement for sins.` For Peter said: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. (1Pet. 1:18, 19; Rom. 3:22)

    Christ being placed under the law kept the entire righteous acts required by the law. Peter said: For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin neither was guile found in his mouth. (1Pet. 2:21, 22).

    Under the art of justification of faith, the first thing that is to be done is to justify, or prove the righteousness of the sacrifice. Since Christ is the one He must be cleared of any wrong doing. For in Romans it said: "Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and that all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets: Even the righteous of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference. (Rom. 3:19-22)

    The 22nd verse of this passage has a profound declaration in that it mentions the faith of Jesus Christ. This speaks of Christ's faith only. This is not the believer's faith. But rather this is the qualifying faith of Jesus Christ. He in this obeyed the law, and passed the test so that He may justify others. Christ fulfils the law, and became righteous under the law. (Matt. 5:17; Heb. 5:8).

    Jesus becomes the target of our faith. We must believe in Him who passed the test for us. He became our righteousness.

    This fulfils the prophecy of Isaiah when he said: "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days and the pleasure of the Lord shall proper in his hand.

    He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities." (Isa. 53:10, 11)

    Now the believer must put his faith in Jesus Christ, for Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believe. The only one that can save us is Jesus Christ. He is the only one who can make us right before God.

    "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth."(Rom. 10:1-4)

    Justification of faith is directed here to Jesus Christ. The believer is confident that he is able to save him. The believer is not saved yet at this point. He does know where his salvation lies: And is willing to obey the Lord's commands in reference to the application of the acts of salvation.

    Let me give you the example of a person who now seeks to be justified by Christ. This person is none other than the apostle Paul at the time of his conversion. When he became aware of the fact Christ was the source of his salvation he said And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city and it shall be told thee what thou must do. (Acts 9:6)

    We all must conclude that Paul is a believer. There remains something he must do. The application of salvation is not completed in his life. He therefore gives him direction. He said that he was to go to Damascus and it will be told to him what he must do. When he got to Damascus Ananias came and told him what he must do.

    Note this: And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts 9:17)

    This incident shows that Paul had not received the Holy Ghost. This means his salvation is not yet complete. He is not born of the Spirit. He cannot enter the kingdom of God. (St. Jhn. 3:5) If a person has not the Spirit of God, he is none of his. Rom. 8:9 He is not in the body of Christ. (1Cor. 12:12-13)

    When Paul testifies in the presence of the King he made mention of what Ananias said about baptism. Note This: Now why tarriest thou? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. (Acts 22:16)

    The thing that must be realized from this verse is that Paul's sins were still upon him. The benefit of the cross is not yet applied unto him. This was to done through baptism. This is where the blood of Jesus is applied to the heart of the believer. As Peter said: Repent and be baptized everyone one of you For the remission of sins." (Acts 2:38)

    The term Justification of faith is the conclusion of the believer in reference to the source of his salvation: Which he concludes that he cannot be justified in any other way.

    JUSTIFICATION BY GRACE

    "Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.

    What is Justification by Grace? This is a term not used by many in reference to salvation. There is a definite need for grace in our salvation. Mere belief does not save us. There is a need for grace. Grace too is distinctive. Grace is a sovereign act of God. It is given to the believer and is available for all. Along with justification by faith it must understood that grace is an necessary act of God.

    When we think of the Justification by Grace it must understood also that it is one of the tools of God to save the sinner. How does it relate to Faith? Grace is the independent act that gives a person a gift without any one meriting. This means that God gives it without earnings. It is the gift of God. It is not given because of faith more than it is given through. Faith becomes the channel through which grace comes. God give it unto a person who sees himself as a wrenched sinner. It is given because of God's compassion upon the penitent sinner. Moreover God grace was available be a person repents. This is simply because of his love for mankind.

    Grace is a choice of God independent of prayer or a predetermined thought that God have to do it. God said unto Moses I will be merciful to whom I be merciful. And will be gracious to whom I will be Gracious. (Exd. 33:18, 19)

    It has to do with the will of God and not the will of the penitent.

    It is necessary to have for salvation is not so unless God wills it so. "For He saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I
