About this ebook

Thor slowly entered with the sword in his hand and stated, I am only going to ask this once, and if I dont hear the right answer, Ill drench the floor with your blood. Is Defense Minister Jeshimon Bechorath alive?

All of them stared at Thor silently, in open defiance, daring him to make a move. Then one of them spoke up and said, Give it up, Sentinel. There isnt a thing you can do to us that will force us to talk.

Thor leveled his sword at the prisoners and threatened through clenched teeth, Tell me what I want to know, or you will all die!

Yeah right, Sentinel. You dont have the guts to do it.

Thor buried his sword in the side of a Lazertran prisoner then decapitated thee others, spun around, and shoved his sword in the chest of one behind him.

Gary T Brideau

I was born in a small house in Brooklyn, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1947 and moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut as a small boy. I met Lauren, the love of my life in1985 and were married years later and moved to Bristol, Connecticut. One night, I had a vivid dream that caught my attention, that spurred me to write it down, and sent it to my sister T. Jene Brideau, for an interpretation who also is a writer. She wrote and told me that the story was good. I took her encouragement and my imagination went to work. That’s when I discovered my God-given talent to write great space adventures stories. From then on, I have written over fifty stories of which only seven of them have been published with great reviews.

    ABOUT THE GALAXY SENTINEL SERIES

T hor, or Thor Manning Stromburg, is the Galaxy Sentinel, who is six feet tall, with dark brown hair and rugged features. He is in charge of the Institute, a five story red brick building that sits on top of a mountain, jungle-dominated plane toid.

The Institute is a five story red brick building that houses the galaxy's most feared and dangerous criminals, who are guarded by a highly trained staff of two hundred and fifty men and women.

Thor does not work above the law, he works with the law tracking down hardened criminals and locking up, out of society's way for good,

The law of the Planetary Alliance says, that if felon is caught committing a crime. There is no trial to find out if he is guilty, his actions are a testamentary against him and he is without excuse. A hearing is held to determine the criminal sentence. No lawyer, no long drawn out trial. The man was caught, in the middle of committing a crime.

However, if there is a shadow of a doubt whether he is or not guilty. There is a trial to decide his fate.

Thor's wife, Cherry Ruth Blossom, a six feet tall shapely woman with brown hair, stands by his side no matter what. She was born on Planet Haskel Prime, which is slightly smaller, then that of Earth. Cherry's younger sister's name was, Jasmine disappeared and was presumed dead, at the age of sixteen. But she was found later, on Earth.

Cherry's father died in a fiery crash, while serving on an ore spaceship when, she was five years old. From that time on, Cherry and her mother lived on what they could afford, which was not much. As the years went on Cherry received Christ at the age of Nineteen and developed an attitude, that she had to work extra hard, for the simple things in life. At the age of eighteen, she hoped to make something of herself and struck out on her own. She went from one dead-end job to the next, as misfortune hung over her, like a cloud.

At the age of thirty, Cherry finally landed a great job and a wonderful place to live. When hard times struck, causing her to lose her job and her home all in the same day. Distressed about her life she sat under a Cherry tree in a park weeping not knowing to do next. That's when Thor found her and they became the first, husband and wife retrieval team in the galaxy.

The Galaxy series also consists of Leprechauns, Sprites, Will-o-the-wisps and various types of aliens. The Institute is a vast complex consisting, an Arboretum, a beach at the foot of the mountain, a large housing complex, with a cafe, a large store and a Three Dimensional Particle Acceleration System on the fifth floor of the Institute that is far better than any hologram, and an underground tramway.

    INTRODUCTION

P lanets throughout the galaxy have enjoyed many years of peace, because Thor, the Galaxy Sentinel and his staff of 250 men and woman have kept a valuate w atch.

But something has happened to upset the balance of time in the galaxy and sent a signaled to the Time Master that Thor, the Galaxy Sentinel dead and the Institute was abandoned.

With only a few computer files to go on The Time Master has to set things in order once again.

    CHAPTER 1

    A Fallen Hero

A tall man with white shoulder length white hair and a van dike, held a five foot long golden staff in his right hand, which is called, The Time Master. Clad in a long, forest green robe, tied at the waist with a thick gold rope that hung down on his left side. His staff had a softball sized crystal orb, on top, held there by a scroll work of silver fingers. The Time Master stood in front of the beach house on Smile Lake and stared at the front door hanging by one hinge and muttered, This place is a disaster. Thor has got to get off his lazy butt and do something. His eyes widened, when, he turned and questioned, What happened to Thor's cottage? There's supposed to be a white cottage here at the foot of the mountain path. The Time Master, looked at his computer orb on top of his staff and asked, Anastasia, scan for life s igns."

The computer replied, There is only one life sign on this planetoid. Follow the gravel path, to the top of the mountain.

The old man carefully scanned the jungle undergrowth and found a narrow path crowded with jungle vegetation and muttered, That's it, Thor is getting a piece of my mind. This path supposed to be five feet wide. At the top of the mountain path, The Time Master stared at a vine covered, five story, red brick building, with the jungle encroaching on three sides and muttered, When I see Thor, I am going to kick his butt all over this planetoid, this place is in deplorable condition.

Inside the garbage strewn, building The Time Master, hollered, Hello! Anybody here? He pushed open the cafeteria doors and rammed the end of his staff into a four inch grey spider slowly making its way across the dusty floor. Scanned the tables he muttered, It looks like no one has been in here in years. What is going on here? His eyes then fell upon a table that had one place setting. He picked up the spoon and said, The computer is right, someone is here. But, where?

The Time Master left the building and entered the Arboretum, grumbling, This garden looks, more like a garden of weeds than a Botanical Garden. His ears then picked up the sound of a woman splashing in the water and he hastened his steps and found a shapely woman in her late thirties, skinny dipping in a pool beneath the waterfalls. He abruptly stopped and addressed the lady, I'm sorry to interrupt your bath, miss, but, could you kindly tell me, where everybody is?

The woman jerked her head up blushing from embarrassment, tried to cover herself and answered, I'm Cathy Loganberry and Who, might you be?

I'm The Time Master and I'm here to speak to Thor, the Galaxy Sentinel about a time displacement that I have recently detected.

I'll show you where Thor is but, first would you mind turning around so I can get dressed?

The Time Master turned his back, saying, Please forgive me for interrupting your bath ma'am.

Cathy called, Gideon! Bring me my robe!

A two foot tall blue bear, clad in a light-blue vest, black eyes and nose with no mouth, dragged Cathy's robe to the edge of the water and waited. She stepped out, secured her robe around her and explained, I wasn't taking a bath. I was swimming in the buff, if you must know. I take a dip, every day around this time. Since I'm the only one on this jungle planetoid why should I wear a bathing suit?

Sounds logical to me, now where is Thor and everyone else?

Cathy led the man to a plaque that read, In remembrance of Thor, the last Galaxy Sentinel.

What happened to his wife Cherry and his daughters, Tippy, Belinda, Abbie, Kara and Christina?

Thor was never married, Sir. He worked alone.

Thor was married and met his wife sitting under a Cherry tree one afternoon, brought her to the Institute, where he married her and they became the first husband and wife Retrieval Team.

Can you tell me, when he died?

Five years ago, Thor was after someone called the Nightwalker and followed him to the planet, Mystera, where he was killed in an explosion, while trying to save his friend, Ab. Cathy turned to The Time Master and asked, What gave you the idea, that Thor was married?"

Okay, this is how Thor met Cherry, stated, The Time Master, He was on a low priority retrieval mission, to capture Bob and had pursued him for over two weeks, compiling more information on him, than, on five low priority retrieval missions combined. One afternoon, Thor found a quiet spot to check out the information, he had and to make an evaluation. As he was setting by the beautiful blue lake surrounded with green grass and cherry trees which were in full bloom looking like something out of a storybook. He heard a woman crying and walked up to her sitting under a cherry tree wearing a red dress, looking very much like a huge Cherry. Thor asked, What the problem, ma'am? Can I help you?"

Cherry stood up and blubbered, all over Thor; about her problems how she had lost her job, her apartment and had to live on the street for the first time in her life. Thor told her, of a small diner just across the street, from the park, where they could have a great cup of coffee and a burger. Cherry smiled, for the first time in a long while and nodded yes. She thought that she was floating on air as she walked through the park, with Thor, as he explained to her the position that was opened at a place called The Institute. By the time they had finished with their coffee and burger, Cherry was smiling from ear to ear, eager to apply for the job.

They strolled out of the diner, down the street and Thor seemed to be a bit distracted about something, then, grabbed Cherry around the waist and pulled her into a dark alley. That scared the crap out of her; she thought Thor was going to sexually assault her. When they arrived at the Institute, he sat Cherry on a bench just, outside the Arboretum entrance so she could get her bearings before he introduced her to her new boss, Dora. A minute later, Cherry stood under the rose trellis; Thor took her in his arms and kissed her. He then married her, two months later."

Cathy commented, How romantic. Suddenly an arrow silently sliced through the air and found its mark in Cathy's stomach sending her to the ground clutching the arrow.

The Time Master slammed his staff on the ground, releasing a red beam of energy from the orb emotionalizing the assailant hiding near by. He knelt by Cathy, opened her robe, removed the arrow and was about to heal her wound when, she held out her hand saying, No, please, don't. I'd rather be with my Saviour, than to live alone in a galaxy that is corrupted as this one is. This time-line you spoke of, where Thor is alive. Can you tell me more about it?

In that timeline, this planetoid is alive with, the staff housing, Fire Pixies, Sprites, a Leprechaun, A settlement of Wee people; who are about a foot high. Thor and Cherry, adopted five daughters, Tippy, Kara, Constance and Abbie who are Will-o-the-wisp and Belinda, who came from a battered home. It was Abbie's special time traveling abilities that saved Thor, when that bunker exploded. The Time Master propped Cathy up, against a tree and ordered, Anastasia show an outing of Thor and his family on Smile Lake. A fog appeared in of Cathy then a scene of Thor and his family on the beach having fun came into view, Cathy smiled and said, Sir, take care of Gideon for me, he'll be a great help to you in restoring the timeline to normal. Gideon waddled up to Cathy, nuzzled against her face as she died. The bear stared at Cathy's lifeless body for a minute, then up at the Time Mater, with a forlorn expression on his face. The Time Master picked up the bear saying, Don't worry, Little Guy, I'll find the killer and restore the time-line to normal. But, first, I need to restore you." The Time Master touched the top of Gideon's head with his Staff. Swirls of yellow energy surrounded the bear for ten seconds. When it had vanished, Gideon was clad in a red and gold kimono with two silver handled katana strapped to his back.

The old man approached the short grubby looking thug who shot Cathy and released him from the effect of the energy beam and inquired, Tell me who you work for and I'll let you live.

Go suck an egg, old man. I'm not telling you anything.

Gideon held his blades in his paws, jumped up, bounced off The Time Master, landed on the assailant's shoulders then held his katana to the man's throat. The Time Master inquired, I would hate for you to lose your head. So, tell me who you work for and you'll get to keep it.

You're not going to kill me in cold blood and there isn't a thing you can do to force me into telling you.

Gideon pressed his blade against the thug's throat causing blood to trickle down his chest, but, he remained silent. The Time Master ordered, Gideon, on my shoulder, now. then said, "You can go. The man slowly faded into mist as he walked away.

The Time Master buried, Cathy by the falls, placed his hand on the grave with Gideon's paw and vowed, I will find the one who's responsible and make him pay. He rose to his feet and entered the Institute building, then in Thor's office and downloaded the data from the Retrieval computer into Anastasia. Gideon tapped the Time Master's shoulder and pointed to the door. He looked at Gideon and inquired what's up, Short Point?"

Gideon repeatedly brought his paw to his mouth, the Time Master's eyes widened and he muttered, Okay, I'll have a nosh before I go over the files I just downloaded.

The Time Master rummaged through the kitchen and found something to eat. Than returned to the office, found the date where Thor met Cherry. Put Gideon on his shoulder and said, Time's awasting. seconds later, The Time Master and Gideon were standing
