About this ebook
Gideon slowly waddled forward with his katana in his paws, pointed to one of them then positioned himself.
The guy looked down at Gideon and chuckled, You want me to fight you? Youre a stuffed bear? Men, give me a sword. I have a stuffed animal to kill.
That is no ordinary stuffed bear, stated Thor, That is Gideon, the Avenging Bear.
Avenging nothing, I am going to slice it more ways that you can think of. Come on bear show me what you got. Then he took a swing at the bear and missed. Gideon leaped up in the air, twirled and sliced the guys left leg. The man screamed in pain lunged forward, only to have Gideons blade driven deep in his shoulder. The guy screamed, knocked the bear to the ground went to ram his sword, in the bear. Gideon rolled over, bounced off Thor and drove his blade deep, in the mans chest. The other men sprang into action after Gideon only to be vaporized, by an energy blasts from an unknown position.

I was born in a small house in Brooklyn, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1947 and moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut as a small boy. I met Lauren, the love of my life in1985 and were married years later and moved to Bristol, Connecticut. One night, I had a vivid dream that caught my attention, that spurred me to write it down, and sent it to my sister T. Jene Brideau, for an interpretation who also is a writer. She wrote and told me that the story was good. I took her encouragement and my imagination went to work. That’s when I discovered my God-given talent to write great space adventures stories. From then on, I have written over fifty stories of which only seven of them have been published with great reviews.

ABOUT THE GALAXY SENTINEL SERIES
T hor, or Thor Manning Stromburg, is the Galaxy Sentinel, who is six feet tall, with dark brown hair and rugged features. He is in charge of the Institute, a five story red brick building that sits on top of a mountain, jungle-dominated plane toid.
The Institute is a five story red brick building that houses the galaxy's most feared and dangerous criminals, who are guarded by a highly trained staff of two hundred and fifty men and women.
Thor does not work above the law, he works with the law tracking down hardened criminals and locks them up, out of society's way.
The law of the Planetary Alliance says, that if felon is caught committing a crime. There is no trial to find out if he is guilty, his actions are a testamentary against him and he is without excuse. However, if there is a shadow of a doubt whether he is guilty or not. There is a trial to decide his fate.
Thor's wife, Cherry Ruth Blossom, a six feet tall shapely woman with brown hair, stands by Thor's side no matter what. Cherry was born on Planet Haskel Prime, which is slightly smaller, then of Earth. Cherry's younger sister's name was, Jasmine disappeared and was presumed dead, at the age of sixteen. But she was found later, on Earth, recorded in the story, 'The Vanishing Hero'
Cherry's father died in a fiery crash, while serving on an ore spaceship when, she was five years old. From that time on, Cherry and her mother lived on what they could afford, which was not much. As the years went on Cherry received Christ at the age of Nineteen and developed an attitude, that she had to work extra hard, for the simple things in life. At the age of eighteen, she hoped to make something of herself and struck out on her own. Cherry went from one dead-end job to the next, as misfortune hung over her, like a cloud.
At the age of thirty, Cherry finally landed a great job and a wonderful place to live. When hard times struck, causing her to lose her job and her home all in the same day. Distressed about her life she sat under a Cherry tree in a park weeping not knowing to do next. That's when Thor found her and they became the first, husband and wife retrieval team in the galaxy in the story, 'Thor is the galaxy Sentinel in the Last Warlord.'
The Galaxy series also has; Leprechauns, Sprites, Will-o-the-wisps, who look like 6 foot pixies and various types of aliens. The Institute is a vast complex consisting, an Arboretum, a beach at the foot of the mountain, a large housing complex, with a cafe, a large store and a Three Dimensional Particle Acceleration System on the fifth floor of the Institute that is far better than any hologram, and an underground tramway.
INTRODUCTION
T he Planetary Alliance is under siege by hordes of street gangs, controlled by a lone mystery figure, who hides in the shadow of enigma. The pleasant parks have become a haven for the street gang's thugs, battling for territorial rights. The First General had to call in the military, to try to push back the onslaught of daily violence in the cities. But the street gangs were well equipped, to handle anything that was thrown their way.
The First General, Harry, calls Thor, the Galaxy Sentinel, to squelch the violence and to bring to justice those who seeks to use the law for their own means.
CHAPTER 1
The wrong move
S am, a stout man in his fifties with red hair around the sides of his head, charged up to Thor, a Herculean individual enjoying a cup of Hazelnut coffee on his front porch, growled, Are you nuts? You can't go to Crystal City, on Dicapl alone. Those street gangs will stomp all over you.
I have no choice Sam. The Alliance is under siege with numerous gangs roaming around the streets. Besides, somebody has hacked into the bank's computer entered an algorithm into the system, preventing everyone's digital wallet from working. All I plan to do is to scope out the situation. I do not plan to start a fight with them.
Trust me, you do not want to do this alone.
roared Sam.
I am going to be alright. If they start anything, I'll call for backup. It's no big deal. Like I said, all I will be doing is walking around, so, stop worrying, you're worse than Cherry.
Cherry, a shapely woman, under six feet tall, brown hair, stepped out on the front porch of their cottage, gave her husband, Thor a peck on the cheek said, Before you go on the mission, Doc Chrissy wants to see you in her office.
Thor patted Sam on his back, saying, Don't worry old friend I'll be alright.
Thor took his wife's hand and walked up the winding gravel path to a five-story red, brick building called the Institute, entered the infirmary hollered, Chrissy, you wanted to see me?
Chrissy, the Institute's sprite Doctor clad in a light green, slack suit, with a white smock over it entered the room, looked up at Thor and ordered, Take your shirt off and sit on the exam table if you please.
Chrissy placed a two inch circular, with micro circuitry patch, on Thor's chest and explained, With this, I will be able to keep track of your vitals, just in case something goes wrong.
Nothing is going to go wrong. All I am going to do is to look around, so, I know what actions to take. No big deal. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to be going to Crystal City.
In Thor's office, he stuck his light blue retrieval button, in his pocket stepped on, the pad and in seconds; he was transported, to the outskirts of Crystal City. Thor glanced around the peaceful, River Haven Street, lined with houses shade trees and muttered, Looks good so far.
A tall, gangling bald young man, with a bone through his nose, a tattoo of 'Leopards' on his head, clad in a leather vest and grungy jeans, approached Thor and inquired, What are you doing on the 'Leopards' turf? Peon.
A heavy set young man, with a Mohawk haircut, clad in the same attire, walked up to Thor, gave him a shove and demanded, Answer the question! What are you doing, on our turf?
A dozen or more of the gang members surrounded Thor, suddenly his head began to spin, as he struggled to stand, then he felt a blow, that knocked him out.
At the Institute, Chrissy heard as alarm sounded on her medical board, She hit the intercom and shouted,
Sam, Rock, Cherry, Thor is down! Cathy, I need you to monitor the Retrieval Computer."
Sam raced in the infirmary and asked, What happened?
I put a monitoring patch on Thor just, before he left. A warning buzzer just, went off signaling me, that his life signs are very weak.
Where is he, now?
questioned Sam.
Cherry charged in the infirmary questioned, What happened, to Thor?
I don't know, yet, but when, Rock, so, named by his muscular physique, gets here, you three are needed, to be, Thor's backup.
Just before Cathy activated the Retrieval Computer, to send them to their destination, Chrissy charged in announced, Thor is, at the Crystal City General Hospital!
At the hospital. Cherry slowly entered Thor's room stared at the grotesque figure, lying in the bed, who was her husband. Rushed to his side, broke down and cried. Sam turned to the doctor inquired, Do you know, who did this to him?
Yes, it was the
Leopards Street gang. One of the most brutal gangs, in the city. They injected him with a sedative and then beat him to a pulp. The only thing I can't understand is why he is still alive. By all the medical standards, he should be dead.
Cherry and her two Will-o-the-wisp daughters, Tippy and Abbie, both six feet tall with brown hair, Tippy has transparent wings, while Abbie's are white furry, rushed in the room with her sister Belinda, a young, human woman 5'2' tall. Curly brown hair with an upbeat, attitude, rushed into the room questioned, What happened, Mom? We were out shopping, when, Chrissy called us.
A street gang attacked your father.
Ab, an orange skinned alien, somberly walked in the room, stared at the disfigured man lying in the bed and said, The only chance Thor has of living is if I take him to Mystera. He'll be safe there, plus he'll have a ninety percent chance of recovering, over the thirty percent chance here.
Sam turned to Cherry said, Rock and I are going after the 'Leopards' Street gang. I promise you, there will not be one left standing.
Sam marched out of the hospital room said, Come on Rock, we have a few faces to stomp on.
On River Haven Street, a tall lanky young man with a bone through his nose, stuck a knife in Sam's face and stated, Time to die, old man.
Sam's right arm shot out slammed into his face, sending him staggering backwards, spun his javelin around, ready for action. Rock jumped up and kicked the thug in his chest, knocking him to the pavement. The rest of the gang rushed in from all sides. With his back to Rock Sam hollered, It's party time!
A seven-foot tall man in his early thirties, with a gold chain that looped from his ear to his nose, to his other ear, wearing a leather vest and pants, with slicked back hair stepped in the middle of the gang, stared at the unconscious gang members and stated, You stomped on my men. That means, I am going to put your lights out the hard way.
he pointed to Rock said, let's see, what you got."
Rock took a fighting stance and studied the gang leader's movements. Then quickly grabbed the leader by his chain, yanked it out of his nose and ears, then pounded his face several times with his fists. Sam charged in the middle of the rest of the gang extended his javelin, sending them flying everywhere. Rock stared at Sam and quipped, Hey, no fair. You didn't leave me any.
Sam pointed to a van parked in a driveway whispered, Rock. there is one hiding in there.
Rock walked up to the van, quickly opened the side door and yanked him out, by his collar. A hypo spray fell out of his shirt pocket on the ground. Rock picked it up shoved it in his face screamed, Is this the sedative you use when you are going to beat on someone?
Smiling sheepishly, he nodded yes. Rock's face turned red with rage slammed him against the van then screamed, You're gonna die for what you did to my Boss!
Sam placed his hand on Rock's shoulder, saying, Easy son, we're gonna need him for questioning.
Three police cars stopped by the gang that were tied up. One officer approached Sam said, Good job, but we'll take them off your hands.
Sam turned to Rock said, Bring them back to the Institute for processing. He stared at the officer stated,
They put the Galaxy Sentinel in the hospital, now, it's personal."
The officer hollered back, You can't do that. You have no jurisdiction in this area.
Sam bellowed, For your information the Galaxy Sentinel's jurisdiction knows no boundaries. Those thugs are going back to the Institute. So, what are you going to do about it besides hide in a White Forest Cafe sucking down coffee?
The police officer's partner walked up to him stated, Back off, bud. That's Admiral Sam the Stout. Trust me; you do not want to mess, with him.
Sam pointed his javelin in the officer's face and stated, Every precinct, in Crystal City, is going to be inspected by me. If there are any cops that does not meet Thor's standards he will be looking, for a new job. Now, if you will excuse me I have to be going.
The officer grabbed Sam's arm, growled, You can't set yourself up as judge, jury and executioner. You are coming with me Mister.
Sam face broadened into a smile as he stated, Yeah, I can. But you two are history,
Sam touched the light blue button attached to his belt, sending him the two officers back to the Institute."
The officer's partner bellowed, Joe, I told you, to back off. It will be a miracle, if we ever get out of here.
Stop, your whining, they can't hold us any longer, than 72 hours.
Sam muttered, They're bumbling idiots. No wonder, the Alliance is in the state, it's in.
The officer's partner turned to Sam stated, I'm Officer Muldorf. What will happen to us, Sir?
You will be processed then put in a holding cell to await the outcome of your investigation. If, we find you have connections with any of the street gangs, the Institute will be your home until you die.
Officer Muldorf took out a business card, from of his pocket and gave it to Sam.
Sam grabbed Officer Muldorf by his collar and whispered, Follow my lead. He then shouted,
Get out of my face you piece of garbage! threw him to the floor hollering, Security! Drag him away!
The security took Officer Muldorf by his feet and dragged him into Thor's old apartment, for safekeeping.
Sam glared at Officer Joe and ordered, Drop your weapons and your badge. If you resist, you're micro-dust. Now, move!
Just one small question? Have you ever heard of the Galaxy Sentinel?
inquired Officer Joe.
Yeah. He's my partner.
Officer Joe's face turned pale as Sam escorted him to the infirmary for his examination in preparation to be locked up. Sam went into Thor's old apartment and inquired, Officer Muldorf. What do you know about the Galaxy Sentinel?
I had lunch just, last week with Thor, his wife Cherry, his daughter, Abbie, the Will-o-the-wisp with white, furry wings.
How is Laura Seasons's; Dora's sister doing?
You mean my wife? Couldn't be better.
Come on, brother in law, you're staying with me and Dora, until this thing blows over. Don't worry, I'll arrange it so, your wife can stay with you.
Officer Muldorf's facial expression grew somber, as he questioned, How is Thor doing?
Sam fought back the tears, as he hung his head and reported, Not good. The 'Leopards' Street gang worked him over pretty good.
Sam's face turned red, with rage, as he stated, If anything happens to Thor, I assure you, the streets in the Planetary Alliance, will run red with the blood from the street gangs.
What are you going to do, with the 'Leopards' street gang now that you have them?
Rock located a large class 'M' asteroid not too far from here. It has some vegetation and water. I had the 'Leopards' street gang stripped off their gang colors and removed their tattoos. Then, I ordered the guards to shoot to kill anyone who tries to escape by the way of a portal. If they do, they'll be dead by the time they reach the other side. Plus, they are presently building their own living quarters, under heavy guard.
Don't you think you will be putting the guards' lives in jeopardy when you add other street gangs to the compound?
True it will be an explosive situation but the guards will be behind a protective energy shield. Plus, each gang member will be strip searched, then given five pair of jeans shirts, pants one pair of shoes. Anyone willing to talk will be transported back to the Institute and placed in a cell until their statement is proven true.
What if you find out he is lying?
Then he goes back to the asteroid, where he faces his fellow gang members.
That won't be a pretty sight I can tell you that much.
Sam asked, "When was the last time you tasted Red
