Once upon a time there was a very old tiger, who lived in a bushy forest. This tiger was very wise and all the animals heard about his wisdom. But one day the time had come for him to die. Then he asked for his only son to come to him, whom he asked: ‘My son, do you know who has the strongest teeth in the world?’

‘The tiger, of course!’ the son answered.

‘That is true! But do you know who has the sharpest claws in the world?’ the tiger asked again.

‘The tiger, of course!’ the son answered again.

‘This is also true! And now, tell me, who runs the fastest?’

‘Of course, the tiger!’ the son answered without thinking too much about it.

‘I’ll ask you now the last question. Who is the strongest being in the world?’

‘Tiger, tiger, tiger!’ the son shouted!

‘You are wrong, my dear! Remember this: The most powerful being in the world is the man! Beware of getting in his path! Avoid any fights with him! Go around him!’

Saying these last words, the old tiger give his last breath.

The baby tiger then pondered for a long time over what his father told him in the last moments of his life.

‘But how could I find this man? I would like to see, even with only one eye, his teeth and his claws!’ the baby tiger thought.

Later on, he decided to go and find the man. Walking day and night, the baby tiger met a mule who was grazing on a meadow.

‘Could this one be the man?’ the tiger thought and shouted out loud with all his power: ‘Hey, are you the man?’

‘No, I am a quadruped friend of him,’ the mule answered.

‘Then, tell me, please, how the man looks,’ the tiger said. ‘Is it true that his teeth and claws are sharper than mine?’

‘What are you talking about, tiger?’ the mule wondered. ‘The man doesn’t have any sharp teeth or claws. He’s strong because of his mind!’

‘Oh, mule, you’re such a fool! My father told me quite a different story about the man!’ the baby tiger said, and very upset, he walked away.

At the other end of the glade, the tiger met a camel. He began to ask the camel about the man. When the camel said that the man is short of stature, and he has to stoop on his knees any time he needs to mount it, the tiger wouldn’t believe it.

‘My deceased father told me that the man is the strongest being in the world, and that means he is also the biggest!’ the tiger replied, and very plaintive, he once again walked the world in search for this man.

He wandered many days and nights through the valleys, looking for the man. The poor
