As we keep close in Christ, He protects our perseverance from an impending danger, an approaching trial or a hindering odd and the outcome of God’s mercy reveals to us is joy, peace and hope.

Sarene Seet was born the youngest of three daughters and was raised in Singapore. She is married and presently lives with her husband and three lovely children. Sarene constantly contemplates about the life of the Lord Jesus Christ and began to write in her journal on her spiritual experiences and encounters concerning God’s mercy and divine interventions. I praise God who is the driving inspiration in this book and for His greatest influence in this work.
Although there were many difficulties that arise in the course of publishing this book, I had come to experience the greatness of God for He has strengthened me time and again to arrive at the finishing line with a focus that constantly evaluates the motives in reaching out to others with compassion.
God’s mercy reigns forever
God is faithful even though His love is unrequited from mankind.
God is interested in us, in every minute of our existence.

In all our weakness, there arises the power of God’s mercy that pours unto us efficaciously filled with divine love.
Prologue
There is a river in our soul. In everything that matters to our soul, God generously gives His unconditional love and great peace for mankind. I am thankful for the river of joy and peace that we can receive from God’s exceeding grace. And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts! 2 Corinthians 3:11 (NIV)
It happened during a Sunday mass in September 2013 when I had tasted and witnessed the miracle of God’s wonderful peace. Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. Psalm 34:8 (NIV)
After partaking Holy Communion, I had returned to my seat. I knelt to pray and my eyes were closed when all of a sudden, my spirit saw the most amazing rays of light – the source of the great light appealing from above was far brilliant and brighter than the warmest sunshine.
The rays of light were resplendent and rich in splendor, then they started to fall in forms of gentle drizzles; but the speed and force of the drizzles grew stronger and expanded into heavier drizzles as they descended rapidly from above. Each ray of light was significant and restorative; growing larger, swiftly and steadfast as it had begun to penetrate into the depth of my soul.
Gradually, the light had transformed into water and suddenly, I was struck by a vision of an avalanche that rushed towards me. Although I saw the strikingly forceful flood coming my way, however, it was intensely gentle and truly comforting as it approached my soul. The water kept filling into the recesses of my soul and I was completely welled up in an overflowing river of peace.
At that moment, my spirit proclaimed that God’s greatness was mighty and unwavering. The flow of the water was copious and I could not see any ending as the water continuously gushed from above. The goodness of God’s peace that surged into my soul endured unceasingly and thrived endlessly with true comfort. I was completely soaked in an immeasurable state of worthiness and wholeness. There were no obstacles or interruptions as the fullness of joy was overflowing and my spirit was awed by the magnitude of peace that was filling upon my soul.
Then, as I was steeped in an exceeding state of grace from the flood of peace, I heard these words God spoke in my heart, "My peace I give to you, the peace that the world cannot give."
After I heard these words, I was given a free will to let go of this divine peace but I continued celebrating every moment as I remained wrapped up in absolute delight and in a state of grace. I continued to surrender to that perfect peace outpoured from the throne of grace.
At that time, I was safeguarded in constant gladness for here was love, joy and peace overflowing, surrounding me, protecting me, shielding me and sheathing me. The divine peace from God’s power was flourishing; akin to drinking deeply from an everlasting river of superabundance.
Shortly, my spirit became aware of the physical realm that had become severely small and insignificant. I could see people inside the church however nothing else had mattered as there was an endless triumph of praising and rejoicing in my heart and there was perpetually no place for struggles, afflictions, cares or worries that existed.
The concentrate of God’s peace epitomized but a tangible and tremendous divine love that reigned to an unsurpassed height, width and depth of joy that poured interiorly. The human’s thirst was no longer unquenchable but was emancipated by a strong affirmation of God’s everlasting love with an overwhelming gratitude that kept filling my heart.
The divine peace that kept rushing forth as one could envision like streams of water that fed into my dry soul. Though hidden, it was an intensely firm and unharmed; the flow did not slip, generously unceasing, blamelessly unbroken, continuously aplenty and graciously peaceful as my spirit completely yielded to God’s infinite goodness.
The cup that the Bible appropriates - my cup runneth over was triumphant and victorious; for here was our God – gracious and tender-loving - and His power reigns and His love strongly endures forever and ever!
CHAPTER 1
God Sets Us Anew Like a Fortified City
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’S great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Events and experiences have an impact on our life’s spiritual destiny. We can lament or expect our friendship with God to flourish through difficulties and to help us overcome our troubles that will arise at different seasons in our lives; whether we like it or not.
God allows suffering and persecution as a mystery to the tree of life for spiritual growth; to restore our soul and establish perseverance vital for His faithful followers. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. John 15:2 (ESV).
The final condition of each adversary is binding; for it is where we can choose to be sensitive to a stronger discernment and to deepen our relationship with God. In a moment, everything is possible for the love of God somehow opens the depths of impossibilities that are beyond the understanding of souls. Certain enlightenment will seize the cause of pain for which God alone grants consolation in all affairs of the heart, mind and soul.

Hopelessness tries patience and often forsakes the truth of God’s peace. In periods of trials and tests, doubts and confusion tampers with peace, it ambushes the restful hearts and disturbs our commitment to God. God takes delight in us when we embrace patience during such trials for it brings glory to His name.

It was in early September 2011 when I had experienced anguish upon my soul. The torments within me were beyond words as there was a serious conflict that surrounded me for the past few days. An inner struggle was unbearable that had resisted prayer time with God for it had made me experienced misery and stolen my peace.
On 23rd September 2011, still fully shrouded in this circumstance, I could no longer bear the heavy despair in my heart so I wrote off my hesitation and felt I needed to be alone with the Lord God.
After tucking my children to bed, I slipped away into my bedroom and while seated on my bed, there was a great outpouring … of tears. During that moment, I submitted my sorrows to God.
All of a sudden, my soul was touched by God. I felt an incredibly mighty force upon me and although the force was powerful, I was not afraid but filled with courage and remained absolutely calm in my soul. I did not restrain or struggle as I found God’s comfort close to my heart.
