About this ebook

I have read many books concerning the book of Revelations. I have taken a different path, if you will. I have used the Bible itself to interpret the meaning of this book. You will actually be amazed at the information in the pages of the Bible that refer to Revelations. Most people are scared to read this book, other just ignore it like the plague, and yet right in the beginning, the first few sentences actually tells us that this is a blessing to those who heed the Words written and obey them. I do not belong to any denomination; I do, however, consider myself as being a child of God. I believe that I have done my best in showing you that by reading the Bible, piecing the different verses or events, you will then actually see how everything falls into a story that makes more sense than I or anyone else has offered. Read the book and like the Berians, check the scriptures to ensure that what I have written is true.

Victor Bennett

Hi, my name is Victor Anthony Bennett, and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and the events that led up to this book. The one thing that always intrigued me was why I was born. We live, marry, have a family, and then what? Money has never really interested me much; yes, we do need money to survive, but being a multimillionaire never really had any attraction. I have been interested in the Bible for as long as I can remember. I have belonged to different denominations but never felt as if the real message was being preached. When I went to church, I started to notice that there was no talk about repentance or the Ten Commandments. I do not really even remember hearing anyone preach about the book of Revelation. It was this that led me on trying to interpret the book of Revelations. I started my search for the truth in 2012 and now feel ready to share what I have discovered.

    Introduction

Hi my name is Victor Anthony Bennett I live with my wife Ester and my two daughters just outside of Pretoria South Africa. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and the events that led up to this book. I am the second eldest of four children, two brothers and one sister. My life as a child up to the death of my father in 1982 consisted of moving around quite a lot. I joined the fire services in 1983 and then completed my schooling in 1989 achieving my matric. Due to the constant moving I developed into a very strong introvert. Even today I am pretty much of a loner. The one thing that always intrigued me was why was I born? We live, marry, have a family and then …? Money has never really interested me much, yes we do need money to survive but being a multi-millionaire never really had any attraction. I have been interested in the Bible for as long as I can remember. I have belonged to different denominations ove the years but never felt as if the real message was being preached. I have taught myself self-hypnosis, been taught transcendental meditation, relaxation, even attended classes teaching self-growth, through belief in the inner you. Even after being taught and practicing these methods I always went away feeling empty, a deep hollowness that I did not seem to be able to fill. I remember during a yoga class the yoga instructor said that when she is reincarnated she wanted to come back as a cat. Why in the world, if we are created in God’s image would you want to come back as a cat or any other animal for that matter. This hollowness, this deep emptiness led me to a search for the real God. When I went to church I started to notice that there was no talk about repentance, or the Ten Commandments, I do not really even remember hearing anyone preaches about the Book of Revelation. I have heard some pasters, or peaches talk about the so called Rapture of Gods children. I always wondered about this, surely if this book was in the Bible it should be important, after all it was a warning to mankind from God and I might add the last warning. Why was nobody speaking about this? I even sent an email to the pastor of the church that I was attending at the time asking her why they were not warning people about the coming tribulation period. Needless to say I never received an answer to my email. I did at the time understand that we were in for a pretty bad period. Some of the people I spoke to spoke about the rapture period, that if we believed in God we would not go through that period known as the tribulation. Well that was fine by me, I had absolutely no problem with that. The only thing though was who was going to be raptured? How did I know if I was to be one of those lucky enough to miss the tribulation period? Believe me no one in their right mind would want to be a part of that period described in the Bible. This then sent me once more on a quest. If we were supposed to be saved from this period then surely God would tell us. I then began to understand that a lot of what we are taught by our pastors and preachers is incorrect. In order to be recognised by God as His children we need to apply ourselves on a daily basis to the principles set out in the Bible. We cannot expect God to save us if we are not willing to obey Him. I believe that I have at last found the God of the Bible and am now striving to live my life accordingly. The rewards that obedience to God brings, is something that is beyond what I really expected, it is exciting and now at last I have direction. I have written this book in the hope that those who read it might gain a better understanding of the Book of Revelation and the importance of a life in obedience to God’s word.

As an introvert I developed a strong imagination as a child. I would imagine being superman or spider man and have these super powers, be able to fly or spin a web. In my search for the truth of God’s word I found that there was a reward available that far surpasses anything that I had imagined during my childhood. I discovered eternal life and I did not even have to go to a plastic surgeon or drink some or other wonder pill that would stop me from aging. That was the greatest find that I ever made a reason for my existence here for a short period of time.

The journey is not always easy, old habits die hard as the saying goes. I am far from perfect, at times I do things that I know are not supposed to be done and then I get really disappointed in myself, a bit depressed. The secret that I found is that if you are going to succeed you have to try and try again and with time it becomes easier. Walking this way of life is really phenomenal; the rewards at the end of the day are worth the pain and suffering today. All versus quotd in this book are from the ERV version unless otherwise indicated.

    Foreword

Read the following versus from the New Testament. There is mention of the LORDS terrible anger. This has not taken place; it is still coming, in a period we know as the Tribulation mentioned in the Bible. We need to take this seriously, if not we will face the most terrible time that this world has ever experienced.

    Matt 24:20-21

And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a Sabbath: for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.

Have you ever really stopped to consider the Bible, what the message is, the meaning of the symbols used, who inspired this beautiful book. This book is a best seller, not always read and studied, not always understood, with sections or chapters that people are scared to page through. Some of the books of the Bible are not even touched on by those who are supposed to lead and teach us about God. As we go through the Bible I will endeavour to show you that the Bible interprets itself. People throughout the ages, past and present, have gone to fortune tellers, mystics even to other gods to try and find out about the future of the world and in particular their lives. Yet no one turns to the one book that has all the information we need, the Bible. It is filled with intrigue. We read about the creation, about angels, visions of the future, events from the past. The entire Bible is a message. I would like to take you through the book of Revelation. I will use the Bible as a source, both the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Bible in its entirety forms a picture that is complete. We need to search throughout the different books and piece together the story, or message contained therein only then do we really understand what God is telling us. I have taken a verse from Isaiah to enforce what I mentioned earlier; the Bible does interpret itself, and also dispels the idea that the Old Testament has no real relevance today, that it was only for the people of earth before the coming of Christ.

    Isa_28:10

For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little.

The Bible contains warnings of what is to come, what to avoid, and how to receive eternal life. Mankind was created to rule on earth, we failed in this by making the wrong choice. Since then God has tried to get mankind to once more return to Him. This book is about the Kingdom of God. Mankind has been trying for centuries to become immortal, to look younger and be healthier. The one guarantee in life is that these mortal bodies will perish yet we spend millions of dollars each year on trying to delay this process of decay and death. Can we achieve immortality? Is it possible? The answer is yes but not how man thinks. We can reach immortality only through a life style that is geared towards the principles of the Almighty God. Only by following His laws and decrees, by being obedient to His word will we reach our goal and only by becoming true sons or daughters of God. If God finds us worthy we then become one of His spiritual sons or daughters. We no longer feel pain, hunger, heat, exhaustion and so on. The most beautiful part of this whole transformation process is that we come home. We enter into Gods kingdom and we are then complete.

    Rom_12:2

While you read this book remember that God wants all of us to be saved but that can only happen through our voluntary acceptance of His way of life. From when Adam and Eve ate the apple in the Garden of Eden God has let man make his own choices. As time goes on we see that the earth is deteriorating, mankind’s governments and laws do not work. As the verse above says we need to change our mind set. This will include personal relations with one another, towarfs how we worship God, even how we do business. When God retakes His creation and sets Jesus as the head or the ruler only then will we experience true happiness, love and peace. In reading this book I truly pray that God opens your spiritual eyes and ears, that His Spirit communes with yours and that wisdom and understanding is given to you.

One other thing we need to keep in mind when reading the Bible, we must first read the Bible and then look at what is happening in the world around us. A lot of books that have been written trying to explain the Book of Revelation come up with some really bizarre explanations or theories, especially regarding the Mark of the Beast, the woman with the twelve stars around her head giving birth to a child and so on. The one thing that any Bible student must remember is:

    The Bible always interprets itself.

Nothing happens on earth without God having forewarned His people.

We must always look to the Bible, read it, and then have a look at what is happening in the world around us. We never look at world events and then try to fit what we see into what the Bible is trying to tell us.

I will also make reference to history, after all history is a recurring event that we are supposed to learn from, but sadly do not. Each generation is under the impression that what they are doing is something new, never tried before. World leaders can try to find a way to solve the economy crisis, introduce a new idea to ensure world peace, solve the mounting food shortage. The techniques might be different due to modernisation and mechanisation but the results are always the same, utter and complete failure.

Consider the following verses from the book of Ecclesiastes written by the wisest man who ever lived to date: (King Solomon)

    Ecclesiastes 1:9 -11

All things continue the way they have been since the beginning. The same things will be done that have always been done. There is nothing new in this life. Someone might say Look this is new, but that thing has always been here. It was here before we were. People don’t remember what happened long ago. In the future, they will not remember what is happening now. And later, other people will not remember what the people before them did.

Have you ever considered what man’s greatest flaw is, it is his human nature. Under man made laws and rules there will always be violence, theft, war, corruption. We are said to be civilised, but is that the truth, are we really, or is it just a thin piece of veneer covering the true nature of man. Man cannot and will not be able to solve the many difficulties that we encounter without the help and guidance of God. Without His Holy Spirit we cannot and will not be able to overcome the evil of this world:

    Rom 8:7 - Jas 4:4

Please note what the verse says "for it is not subject to the law of God". Here it is clearly mentioned that mans mind does not recognise God’s laws and are therefore not following them. Also remember that at present Satan is the ruler of the world, we live in a world filled with hate, violence, deception, war, murder, racial issues all of which are contrary to Gods word. Why is this true? Anyone whose thinking is controlled by their sinful self is against God. They are not able to obey God’s law. So it really does not matter what plans and laws are devised and put into practice by man, man’s nature, influenced by Satan will always get in the way, thereby dooming the whole process to complete failure, a harsh but very true statement. I live in a country where a person’s life is worth the cost of latest cell phone, sadly if you do not have the most up to date cell phone then your life is not even worth that price.

    Eph 2:2

All I ask is that as you read this book, that you do so with an open mind. Think about what is on the pages, but most importantly do not take my word. Go to your Bible, dust it off and read the verses and sections that are written and see if I am correct. Remember that ignorance is not an excuse, God has given us all the information we need, it is
