About this ebook

He turned into the lane leading to home, serenaded by the haunting sigh of the breeze in the branches of the trees above. As he ambled along, the rustling leaves above personified the sound of whispered voices. He paused and looked up the constantly changing mosaic patterns of the leaves on the swaying branches, the fleeting glimpses of sunlight down on him. He contemplated the eerie sounds, convincing himself he had allowed his imagination to run away with him. While he was standing quietly there, the muttering sounds became clearerthe names Vicky and Jamie clearly drifting down through the confusion of whispering voices.

Author

Chris J Berry

Since writing the first of his books, the author’s main objective adheres to his plan to try and help the creatures and people of our planet. Gazing across the world, nothing seems to change, with conflict the continuing trend on earth. Societies descend into violent confrontation, with factions fragmenting into smaller dependencies rather than seek to unite the nations of our world. Global weather extremes continue to fuel humanitarian crises, destroy food harvests, and desecrate their crop areas. The theme of this twelfth project, The View from Infinity, the sixth in the series A Voyage to Infinity, seeks to expand on the author’s suppositions of what the life beyond offers in the previous books. The introductions in this series, the author hopes, will provide clues that ask us to view life logically and consider the transience of life, our inevitable exit from it, and what that means in terms of the material wealth we strive to generate. Considering those factors establishes one fact—that nothing in the material world belongs to anyone—and poses the question, which then is the real world? He persists in his belief that the demise facing humanity can only be addressed by a united world. Remaining dedicated toward our Maker’s doctrines, the author seeks to abide by his ten laws to guide his life.

    Introduction

IN THIS FIFTH BOOK Of The Voyage to Infinity series, I have put together, and expanded on some of the most notable events that have impacted on my life. As before, in the story, my characters relive the experiences that occurred around me, but presented as a fantasy. I have had to be honest with myself over what those experiences meant to me at the time, and how they have led me to my beliefs up to the present day. Undoubtedly my parents played a major role in introducing me to their spiritual sources, but the ultimate decision to accept how those experiences influenced my life, fell to my ability to rationalise the truth of their sources’ existence.

From a very young age I, like any young person setting out in life, anticipated companionship, job security, and the future retirement within the comfort of my own family. However, an intuitive feeling began to dog me from a very early age, implying that I was destined to spend my life on my own. As a youth, surrounded by my contemporaries, and enjoying the companionship of the opposite sex, I paid little attention to it, naturally feeling it was up to me to make the first move when the human chemistry started to work.

As I moved further into my teens, my parents continued to indoctrinate me into their beliefs― it was to be a long uphill struggle for them, initially finding it hard to penetrate my scepticism. As I approached my twenties, the first real idea that I was being left on the shelf came when attending past school chums’ weddings. This revelation increasingly plunged me into bouts of depression; there seemed no justification why all my school pals were revelling in happy relationships, while I seemed deprived of similar opportunities to complete my own happiness. Despite well-meaning introductions to the opposite sex, brought about by my pals, each ended in disappointment or an abrupt refusal.

Becoming set in my ways, my parents, though sympathetic, reminded me of a directive I had been given in a previous séance, they had persuaded me to sit in during my sixteenth year. Embittered by the lack of companionship now, I eagerly directed the blame for my lonely predicament to the sources, they alleged, had charged me with that task to carry out for them.

Over my life, what I have come to believe the journey through those early years equate to now, has revealed to me that we may all have a pre-conceived plan to follow in our incarnate lives. In my previous books I touch upon this topic and its relationship with free-will. Having arrived at the idea that free-will has been humanity’s Achilles Heel since time immemorial, it was as a result of this belief that I rebelled. I felt my needs were no different to anyone elses’, and embittered with my lot, pledged to have nothing to do with the task my parents implied had been asked of me.

In all my stories, I have tried to illustrate the link I believe exists between the physical and spiritual dimensions, and then given my understanding of how a soul can open that link. My efforts however, have been constantly dogged by the persistent request for proof; in previous books, I have submitted my own hypothesis on why I believe there can be no proof.

Gradually, over the years, my parents’ patience and understanding have raised the humility and desire in me to make the first move. After recognising the existence of our Maker, and His legions beyond, the proof eventually came for me, but not in the way I had expected. My personal experiences since have revealed to me there are no short cuts, and led me to hypothesise on what might have awaited me when returning to the life beyond― had I persisted in my belligerent attitude. But weighing up all that I have learned, the realisation comes across now that there was no other direction in life for me. After looking at the physical existence logically: with a sincere, intimate study of that logical evaluation of my life over the years, I see now, how that has helped me to develop my faith without leaning too much on the need for proof.

In my books, I continually focus on those two irrefutable facts in life my parents drummed into me― the transience of our lives, and our inevitable exit from the physical existence. These facts were the two most powerful revelations my parents could have offered me, and have had a definitive influence over my life since. It has made me realise that nothing in this world belongs to anyone, and subsequently impressed me with the idea, that our Maker desires us to share with each other the wealth, and knowledge, we generate in our incarnate lives here… CJB.

    Preface

NOW ESTABLISHED ON THE higher plane, Vicky and Jamie embark on the next phase of their Celestial incarnation. By continuing with their tour of other Celestial Worlds, they are gaining the essential experience they will need as planetary guardians. The incarnate life-spans on the higher planes are measured in centuries in contrast to those on the lower planes, as lives are no longer subject to the life-threatening technologies and indulgencies that exist on lower planes. While they are completing their period on the higher plane, Samuel is developing the Universal Technology on Crellow, ready to begin the seeding of the new world― given the name Nemisia.

Tristram had previously taken Vicky and Jamie back in time through the Celestial Window, and showed them the birth of a solar system where they are destined to become the guardians of the third planet. Nemisia, now beyond its primeval phase, is well established within its flora and fauna stage. Life is abundant there, and waits on Samuel’s newly appointed higher plane, Crellow, to seed the first civilisation on it.

True to past traditions, the Evil One and his legions are waiting in the shadows, and eagerly ponder the rich pickings to be had on this new world. In the depths of the Evil One’s murky kingdom, his minion legions gather, drooling on the prospect of capturing the wills of many young virgin souls destined to enter the Nemisian physical plane. Competing for the wills of these young spirits, the imperceptible conflict is destined to run its course on Nemisia; an inevitable confrontation looming with the dark legions that Vicky and Jamie, as members of the Infinite One’s legions, will meet head on.

Building on their increasing experience on the higher plane, Vicky and Jamie are approaching a period of spiritual incarnation. Focusing on a soul and its companion, they sense a different beginning from their own from these spirits― the two souls, having completed their first incarnation since leaving the Hallowed Sanctum.

Vicky and Jamie learn that one of the souls, named Simon, had been a minion serving in the legions of the Evil One. A previous confrontation with Sandon, during a period of reconnaissance over Crellow, brings about a change of heart in Simon who then embarks upon a bid for redemption. Reaching for the light, Simon suffers all manner of abuse as he ascends through a gauntlet of the Evil One’s minions. In the world beyond his companion Jasmine waits as he takes on the challenges of the material life once again on Nemisia.

Vicky and Jamie, destined to oversee Nemisia into the Celestial Realm, realise the importance of their role in Simon’s new venture. The Infinite One selects them to mentor Simon on his bid for redemption, before their final entry to the spiritual incarnation to mentor a virgin soul born of His Hallowed Sanctum.

Standing at the threshold of the first civilisation on Nemisia, Vicky and Jamie recall their past, incarnate experiences on other worlds they have passed through. The future pans ominously away over Nemisia’s Celestial Horizon. Hovering above it, dark clouds gather that herald a future they instinctively feel will be as ominous as their earlier incarnations on the lower planes. The prospect is daunting, but they sense the strength of the Infinite One, and the gathering support of their kindred spirits around them… CJB.

    Chapter One

    Prelude to Nemisia

    ~1~

AFTER THEIR RETURN TO AVATARIA, Tristram’s new proven souls aired confidence in their continuing task, following Crellow’s rise to the Celestial Realm. Given the freedom of Avataria, Tristram declared a rest period while Samuel focused on setting up the new Crellowian civilisation. If traditions prevailed, by far the most formidable task would be the construction of the motherships, and until they were completed Nemisia’s seeding remained in the distant future. Neither Tristram nor Samuel were in the least concerned, as the Infinite One had allotted the seeding of that world to Samuel― a directive others of His proven legions on the higher planes throughout the universe would be aware of, and respect.

With their Celestial introduction behind them, Vicky and Jamie settled into a regime of touring the higher planes. Joining the Earthenian fleet, they were taken on a series of voyages across the cosmos, enjoying a well earned respite. They gazed upon new wonders out in the Infinite One’s universe; revelling in the beauty He blessed all those with who showed allegiance to Him. Periodically, Vicky and Jamie joined Tristram in Avataria’s temple complex to peer into the Celestial Window and view Nemisia’s progress. Unlike the molten mass they had witnessed the first time in the period view, Tristram had generated a current view in the Window, which in contrast now illustrated a lush, azure world that appealed invitingly to them.

On this occasion, Tristram nodded, gazing thoughtfully at the Celestial Window. Samuel maintains good progress on the scoutship project, and is beginning to draw up plans on the first mothership. He smiled with satisfaction. During Crellow’s resettlement, the mothership manufacturing complex has surfaced, and is now located in the southern hemisphere, not far from the temple complex.

We should like to see that, Master, surmised Vicky and Jamie.

Tristram smiled. I think that can be arranged; perhaps join me here again later in the week, and we shall focus the Celestial Win…

We hoped we could see it in its reality, Master, pleaded Vicky hesitantly. Jamie gazed at Tristram; the look in Jamie’s eyes seeming to repeat Vicky’s request.

Tristram nodded concedingly. I thought you might. Shirley and Kevin were of the same mind. Tristram deliberated for a moment and then looked up at them. I voyage to Tundra Base on Isoland in a weeks time and then onto Crellow to liaise with Samuel on his civilisation’s progress, and to discuss the planning stage of the mothership phase. Tristram closed the Celestial Window and made to leave the chamber. We depart at the end of the following weekend and will be taking only my ship, he said, as they descended the stairs.

Vicky had come across enthusiastically on the mothership topic for Jamie’s sake, but was inwardly more inclined towards how Crellow’s animal kingdom had settled in. Taking their leave of Tristram, they made straight for the summit area to meet up with Shirley and Kevin. Stepping out the levitating shaft, they found them basking in a warm breeze; lost to the familiar symphony of the Humpbacks.

Shirley smiled as Vicky and Jamie settled next to them. And?… queried Shirley, smiling in anticipation, what did Tristram say then? referring to a previous discussion she’d had with Vicky.

Vicky grinned at her. We’re joining you both on the voyage to Crellow to see how the Crellowians are settling in, as well as a tour of the mothership complex on Crellow, replied Vicky, suddenly a little sad. I hear we are leaving you and Kevin there. Vicky sighed. Losing our friends, she whispered, feigning a teasing grin.

Shirley giggled. You know very well no one is going to lose anyone. Tristram is simply leaving a contingent of his proven souls to help Samuel with the novice Crellowians; rather like what Sandon and Zeta did for us when we first arrived on Avataria― we volunteered. Shirley paused thoughtfully. How was Nemisia today then?" she asked.

Vicky gazed out over the ocean. It is looking beautiful, Shirley; a world as yet unspoiled.

Kevin huffed with a smile. Just wait until humanity gets their hands on it, he mumbled pessimistically― his statement supported by acknowledging gestures from Jamie.

The girls wandered off through the pillars to the promenade beyond to take in the sea air and view, anticipating the boys migrating onto the topic of Crellow’s developing mothership complex.

Jamie sat next to Kevin, gazing vacantly after the girls. What’s the Infinite One got lined up for you two then? he asked casually.

We’re to learn that on this next voyage to Crellow, replied Kevin. Like what happened for you and Vicky, I get the impression there is a world approaching the seeding stage in another galaxy. Tristram has indicated he wants souls from the higher plane to seed and help oversee the new civilisation there.

It sounds a lot different from our task on Sanctus, replied Jamie. It could mean you’ll witness life in the raw before the Infinite One’s first reset on that world.

Kevin nodded. If that’s to be the case, then so be it.

Jamie fell silent, contemplating early life on Earth and Avataria, described in the Avatarian archives; how both had been rife with ignorance, superstition and violence.

Kevin reached out and placed his hand on Jamie’s shoulder. Don’t worry, My Friend, the Infinite One will look after us. Kevin smiled. After that, Tristram tells me another world is coming in line for the Celestial Realm, and that one is destined to fall to Shirley and me. You see― we’re only a step behind you and Vicky, he grinned.

Jamie grasped his hand. From what I’ve seen of you two, I can understand the trust the Infinite One has in you both. Jamie peered out through the pillars at Vicky and Shirley sitting on seats chatting. Jamie grinned deviously. I imagine the girls thought we were going to bore them with motherships, so let’s go and raise the topic with them now.

Kevin laughed as they rose to their feet. You like living dangerously, don’t you, Jamie?

    ~2~

The voyage out to Crellow passed relatively quickly for Vicky and Jamie, occupying themselves in the mothership’s archives, with Crellow’s recent reset already listed in its transcripts. Tristram had made no more visits to the Sacred Chamber on Crellow to read from the Refulgent Book, instead, focusing on Samuel’s plans for the construction of the Crellowian Fleet.

The visit out to the cavernous workshop area, where the sections for the motherships were manufactured, had absorbed Jamie’s and Kevin’s attention since first setting eyes on it. The plan of the entire complex reflected the historic schematics kept in the Avatarian archives. Everywhere on the higher plane, the design of the Universal Technology was the same: tried and tested methods that were religiously repeated, sharing an affinity with the physics of the cosmos.

The technician residences in the complex, referred to as the subterranean city in the Crellowian archives, were much the same as on other worlds listed in the manuals back on Avataria. Touring the gigantic work areas in their scoutship, Vicky, Jamie, Shirley and Kevin, glided over partly assembled mothership sections, watching Samuel’s army of technicians below busily engrossed in their work.

Kevin gazed across at Jamie; his studious expression heralding a statement. What intrigues me about this place, is the section on the magnetic conduit described in the Avatarian archives.

Jamie instinctively looked up through the screen to the roof section far above them. It does look a bit murky up there doesn’t it, he mumbled pensively.

Vicky stared thoughtfully through the viewer. Imagine how exciting it must’ve been for Samuel’s novice proven souls, discovering this alien complex while re-exploring Crellow after its reset.

Kevin looked at the screen thoughtfully. Tristram’s biog in the archives on the exploration of Earth is equally fascinating, telling of his relationship with the master of Cyan, Antron, and how they worked together on the Earthenian fleet. Kevin gestured down at Tristram and Samuel similarly occupied below as they flew over them.

Well let’s go up and check out this magnetic conduit for ourselves, suggested Shirley, her statement supported by an acknowledging nod from Vicky. We’ve read enough about it.

Well there’s nothing really to see, Dear One, replied Kevin.

We know, protested Shirley, but we’re still curious.

Just do as your told! chipped in Vicky with a smile. Shirley grinned at Kevin, he, gazing at a smiling Jamie.

Better had then, hadn’t I, uttered Kevin with subdued sarcasm.

With that they began the ascent, entering the grey misty roof section as described in the transcript. It fascinated them breaking out into Crellow’s upper atmosphere, noting Tristram’s mothership occupying a geostationary orbit nearby.

Tristram obviously plans to observe the first section set in place, surmised Kevin.

Jamie nodded. I wouldn’t mind seeing that myself, and it’ll probably be the section that houses the power-source too, he added.

Vicky and Shirley gazed at each other with their cheeks blown. How interesting, whispered Vicky sarcastically.

Jamie and Kevin smiled, catching her whispered comment.

Would you two like us to drop you off somewhere over Crellow, so you can spend some time with the animals? asked Jamie.

"Well it’s a long drop, Dear One, but you can set us down if you like," replied Vicky facetiously.

Jamie shook his head, at her corny response and went to comment, but thought better of it.

After dropping the girls off, Jamie and Kevin returned to the mothership centre for a more in depth look over it. The tour of the construction area had offered Jamie and Kevin the opportunity to study, first hand, this aspect of the divine plan, and though considered as an awesome feature, they were not going to let it sway them from the roles the Infinite One had planned for them. It was obvious that one aspect, derived from the transcript back on Avataria, stood heads and shoulders above all else, and that was the time it would take to complete Crellow’s mothership fleet.

Leaving the centre, Jamie and Kevin sped over the ocean towards Crellow’s temple complex, picking Vicky and Shirley up en route. Sitting together that evening up on the summit area above Crellow’s temple, they chatted over the exciting future. Shirley and Kevin had already been seconded permanent quarters there, and were set to begin a programme of excursions around Crellow to help the Crellowians manage the scoutships. Of particular interest to Vicky and Jamie, the planet Nemisia was becoming a regular topic between Tristram and Samuel. Though it’s seeding lay many decades into the future, Tristram planned to make a pass by it during the return to Avataria.

Before Nemisia’s seeding could take place, regular visits there were needed to assess the internal structure of the planet, and research suitably stable sites to set up the essential technology complexes in. Even now, as proven souls, Jamie and Vicky were constantly coming across new facets of the plan, revealing how aspects of physical merged with spiritual. This interim period on Nemisia; the preparation phase, needed to be carried out with the utmost precision and care. The Universal Technology, once in place, was to remain secure there; eventually establishing Nemisia in the Celestial Realm, before being used as a higher plane to seed virgin worlds from.

    ~3~

The best part of the current year was spent helping Samuel to complete, and transport the first section of the Crellowian mothership into orbit. It was a day to remember, watching hundreds of scoutships link up their power-sources to the massive section, and then slowly ascend through the magnetic conduit above. Jamie’s group had wasted no time flying up into the atmosphere to watch the massive section, seemingly as if by magic, appear out of nowhere. The event had touched both Jamie and Kevin, fascinated how the gigantic section was miniaturised next to Tristram’s mothership in contrast.

The evening was spent in a special prayer time to give thanks to the Infinite One; the temple packed to capacity, with Vicky, Jamie, Shirley and Kevin withdrawing to their favourite haunt up on the temple’s summit area after.

The summer was drawing to a close; a gentle chill in the air heralding the onset of autumn.

You two’ll be leaving soon, I dare say, surmised Shirley.

Jamie nodded. Tristram has already discussed it with Samuel. He shook his head. Samuel’s firmly in charge, now that the first mothership section is in orbit: and, with its power-source in situ.

On the return, he’s going to skirt around Nemisia’s solar system, and pause for us to have a look at how the flora and fauna are doing on Nemisia. Vicky’s eyes sparkled at the prospect."

    Lucky things, smiled Shirley.

Shouldn’t think it’ll be any different to what Crellow looked like after its reset, muttered Kevin.

You miss the point, Kevin whispered Vicky. Nemisia is a virgin world, as yet untouched by humanity. She gazed out over the sea. What strange creatures will we see there on Nemisia, now in its present stage of life.

Jamie gazed at them thoughtfully. On Earth it went through various stages, and the age that had the potential to succeed was the early, mid to late Jurassic eras.

Vicky gazed at him hesitantly. Oh! Surely not, My Heart, she uttered dispassionately. Tristram would never seed a world in the grip of vicious beasts like that.

It’s like it says in the Avatarian archives, surmised Kevin. The primordial soup is everywhere in the universe, and during the early stages of life, it would need creatures strong enough to cope with harsh conditions in life. Vicky gazed out over the ocean again, her expression a little disconcerted.

Not so sure now, eh? smiled Jamie.

She gazed at the teasing expression on his face. Feeling a bit cocky again are we… I’ll trust in the Infinite One; He sorted it on other worlds and will sort it on Nemisia.

Jamie looked around at them. It’s a fascinating process though how a world is formed, cools, and then produces the basic resources to support life.
