Discover why He made you and the quantum difference you can make in your portion of history and time.
He wrote one Book, the Bible, summarizing how to achieve a peaceful and healthy spirit and soul on earth no matter what we may face in life. Open this book and read the first page to find out just a few of the reasons why you may want to consider that the Bible is The Truth of God.
G S Stewart
From early beginnings, moving from one dead-end-job to the next, G S Stewart always new that writing was the thing to do. As the years went by, and places and people drifted in and out, this one goal remained constant. Stories emerge from out of experiences, chance meetings, half-forgotten dreams. Every day, the words flow. It never stops.

Preface: The Bible
Controversy over the interpretation of God’s Word has existed since the Bible was written, compiled, and spread around to the multitudes. What other book in the history of our world has been the topic of so much study and discussion? What other book in history, when brought up for discussion, can cause people to yawn, mock, laugh, shut down, get angry, walk away, or become disturbed and frustrated? Why?
What other book in history has made it through all the centuries of language, through every socioeconomic class, from highest to lowest, all over the world, changing the hearts and lives of those who are touched by it? Why?
What other book has been banned and burned more than the Bible? What other book in history has had as many other books written about it, around it, for it, or against it? What other book in history has more songs and hymns inspired by its words than the Bible? Why?
What other book in print today can claim the status of top printing and top distribution and has held that position since it was written? Why?
What other God or deity’s name is used for expressing joy or anger more than the God of the Bible or Jesus Christ? What other God or deity has a holiday so widely recognized all over the world other than Jesus Christ? Why?
What other book can claim more branches, divisions, philosophies, and mythologies stemming from its message? What other book causes so many people to wonder whether it is to be taken literally or metaphorically or both? Why?
What other book and faith in the world has had more innocent people put to death for believing in it? In the history of the world and at present, it is the Bible that has caused, still causes, and will continue to cause the most action in one form or another. Why?
Because the Bible is the inspired Word of God Almighty, Creator of the Universe—that’s why. He is the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Those who wish can take their best shots at snuffing it out, wiping it out, disregarding it, or ignoring it, but the day will come when all souls will face eternal consequences for their choices. Wouldn’t you like to know what all the fuss is about before you see your last dawn on earth?
Introduction
Orchids are one of the most beautiful, mysterious, and complex flowers the Lord created. They are strong and hardy yet very sensitive. They will thrive in the right environment, with the proper levels of moisture, sunlight, water, and food. When they have this stable combination of basic needs, they are healthy, happy flowers.
Their blooms may last a very long time, but they can take many months to appear. Some bloom year-round, while others bloom only once a year after adapting to their environment. They seem to hide shyly as they curl up, folding over their centers before their blossoms die and drop off.
Pruning, repotting, or relocating an orchid must be done carefully, or it might shock them. Their roots need air to breathe; they grow vertically, stretching up and eventually outgrowing their containers. However, if an orchid’s container is too large, it will not do as well. Its roots should be snug but not overcrowded.
They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. If you look deeply into their centers, you will see tiny little creatures or beings, and when you pull back to view them as a whole, you will see a variety and spectrum of faces.
They remind me very much of human beings and the animals that surround us.
In 2009, I began building stories in rhyme around orchids. Since childhood, I have adored Dr. Seuss. His cadence and use of made-up words, along with his talent for presenting various human issues in a light-hearted manner were an inspiration to me.
The first story, Whole or Hole,
resulted from observing the growing trend whereby more and more people are flocking to doctors for help to move through a variety of emotional pressures. In 2003, it was estimated that 3.21 million people in the United States received antipsychotics. By 2011, sales had reached an estimated $18 billion and are still increasing.
With this in mind, should we be pondering whether there may be a common underlying root cause for this giant upswing in our current culture that has more and more people turning to these drug therapies?
Why have the words depression and anxiety become so familiar to us lately? Why are we hearing more and more about people of all ages experiencing panic attacks and being diagnosed with various mental disorders? How can we stop this influx? Are antipsychotic drugs proving to be ultimately more harmful than helpful? From these questions, came this first collection of stories and poems.
As I write in Whole or Hole
:
Earth orchids so stressed just to thrive and renew
would try any potion, though some smelled of glue.
But gluey or chewy, they craved some relief,
seeking assurance, some help or belief …
Now, if it should give you the scales or creepies,
try our new Shush; it will give you the sleepies …
There is medical proof and research linking diet and lifestyle to emotional health. This is valid, along with the pressures of society to achieve, succeed, acquire, be cool, be tough, be smart, be beautiful, be talented, keep up, and measure up. Of course, the level of importance we attach to these things or impose on others is entirely up to the individual.
However, I believe there is also a profound and deeply spiritual aspect to our emotional health. This, in turn, has more of an impact on our mental and physical health than is acknowledged or realized. The Word of God reveals that when it comes to human nature, there is nothing new under the sun.
Emotional and behavioral issues have been banged out for centuries. Human toil and troubles began on the day human beings decided they would do it their way instead of God’s way. And prior to that, there were spiritual rebellions.
The God of the Bible, Creator of the Universe, is the ruling King of freedom of choice. So whether it be principalities, celestial beings, the angels of the Lord, the seraphim or cherubim, the heavenly hosts, the fallen angels, or we human beings who are each created with a one-of-a-kind soul, the one similarity we all share as a part of God’s creation is the freedom to choose what we believe is the truth and the freedom to put our faith in, count on, rely on, or stand for whatever that may be.
If there is a religion, cult, culture, or environment where you find yourself in danger or shunned for expressing and acting on your own individual opinion and belief, it is not in keeping with the Word of God.
Ironically but also logically, the Bible’s principle of freedom of choice is the very thing that creates all the mayhem. Perhaps you have heard the phrase the biggest enemy of freedom is, in fact, freedom.
Consequences will arise from our personal freedom to choose. This is thankfully so, because countless people have been greatly harmed, damaged, broken, or even killed in the wake of someone else’s not so good or downright evil freedom of choice.
While cultural changes create new issues and challenges, the spectrum of emotional requirements necessary for us to thrive with balanced minds and healthy spirits has remained the same since the day God created mankind in His image.
Perhaps you will relate to these writings. I hope you will find them fun and easy to read, and most importantly, I hope you will find within them a message to ponder.

BIBLE
"Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth"
OR
"Best Insight Before Living Eternally."
Whole or Hole
They’ve been here all along, from the very beginning.
But lately it seemed like the legion was winning.
On each plot of earth is a haphazard region
relentlessly shadowed by dark clouds of legion.
The legion on earth is a powerful force,
whose purpose and goal, by whatever the course,
is convince and persuade all the young to the old
they might be quite sick with a fungus or mold.
So deep in Dark Forest, way down in Bog Rose,
heads were together, some nose to nose.
They were mixing up potions for Orchids on earth,
broadcasting how they could help them rebirth.
Earth Orchids so stressed just to thrive and renew
would try any potion, though some smelled of glue.
But gluey or chewy, they craved some relief,
seeking assurance, some help or belief.
Earth Orchids were anxious, depressed, or the poorest
and just couldn’t see there was light past the forest.
The more glue they chewed, the more they got stuck.
It made them feel slow, as in mire and muck.
They got stuck without goals and stuck without dreams.
They were stuck in the past and stuck in between.
They got stuck among thorns.
They got stuck with their scorns.
They got stuck in the sand and in murky mudland.
They got stuck over there and stuck over here.
Until giving up. How could they persevere?
And, feeling so stuck, they had started to shout,
"Oh, what can you give us, so we can chill out?!
We need something now to get out of this drought!"
So legion convinced them that they would be fine:
"Really and truly, take this and you’ll shine.
Then add some of these; you’ll feel good in no time.
Forget about all of those things
