Ryan and the Skateboarding Chimp
Today, my friends Andrew and Brandon asked me to meet them at Andrews place after school. You see, they want to go riding their skateboards, but I really don’t want to go. I feel very left out because I don’t have one. I want one so much I think about it all the time. I think about it when I’m at school, eating dinner or doing my homework. I even dream about it!
I’ve been asking my parents to buy me one for a very long time but I always get the same answer. They say, What do you want with a skateboard? You already have roller blades. You’ll only hurt yourself with a skateboard.
I’ve had those roller blades since I was seven years old and now I’m ten. Not only are they too small for me, but they’re also totally outdated. My mom is always worried about my sister Lisa and me hurting ourselves although she’s 14 years old. She says, ‘Ryan be careful! Don’t roller blade too fast! Don’t ride your bike too fast! Look where you’re going! You’re going to hurt yourself!’ I know she loves me and doesn’t want me to get hurt, but
