About this ebook

The relationship of a new creation in Jesus is exclusive to Him. Relationships with sin, the flesh, and the devil are forsaken for our glorious Savior. The true bride of Christ is clothed by Jesus with His righteousness and adorned with His holiness. He gave her a gown that is pure, whiter than freshly fallen snow. His bride guards her dress from being stained by sin. She guards her relationship with Jesus by keeping her heart and mind fixed on Him and His Word. She rejoices in obeying her Masters commands and exudes in serving His servants. Her hands extend upward to heaven in prayer and then reach outward to her neighbors in loving acts of kindness. Her lips confidently and unabashedly speak truth. Her tongue sings praises to God and she makes music to the Lord with all kinds of instruments. She visits the sick and the lonely. She provides clothing to the poor and food for the hungry. She rebuilds that which is broken and finds that which is lost. She releases prisoners from captivity. Her heart is faithful. She allows no room for compromise. This is the church that Jesus is coming to take home with Him. For Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless (Ephesians 5:2527).

To love Him is to obey Him. To believe in Him is to obey Him. Obedience is worship at its core.

An awe inspiring book instrumented by the Holy Spirit.

    Dedication

This book is reverently and lovingly dedicated

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

    —Revelation 1:5–6 (NIV)

To him who came to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

    —Luke 1:74–75 (NIV)

    Foreword

The Psalmist wrote: When I remember these things I pour out my soul within me (Psalm 42:4, NIV). In the same way Regina has poured out her soul in this book.

Jesus was walking slowly up the incline to the great city. His soul was as heavy as His lamentation against it. His heart broke as He cried out, Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing (Matthew 23:37, NIV).

Jesus had so much to give to the people of that city and they would have nothing to do with Him. In anguish He poured out His soul that Jerusalem might be blessed.

It’s Regina’s desire that everyone who reads this book may taste and see that the Lord is good. She makes it clear that she is speaking from experience; this is not theory. Knowing God makes a difference daily in her life; she longs that it will make each day different for you. In the first few verses of Romans nine the Apostle Paul expresses that ‘pouring out’ in extreme language; there was nothing he desired more for his people than that they might have a transforming experience of God’s love.

Take time to reflect on each paragraph as you go through the book. The Spirit of God may use it as part of the transforming work He longs to do in your life. And then send the author a note telling her you have been blessed!

    Preface

    We have a pitcher.

This pitcher is more slender at the bottom, and gracefully sweeps wider near the top. It is easy to fill; easy to stir; easy to pour.

This is a glass pitcher. It is transparent, with slightly golden, translucent stripes from top to bottom. This pitcher has a smooth, just-the-right-size handle with a comfortable grip. This pitcher was a gift.

    I really like this pitcher!

We own this pitcher – this is our pitcher. We use it to serve and refresh others.

Interestingly, no matter how many people we have served with it, not once have I observed even one guest striking up a conversation with the pitcher! Never have I heard, Thank you, pitcher – you sure refreshed us today. Any thanks, and any compliments, have always been directed to us, not the pitcher.

The pitcher just is. It did not make itself. It did not clean itself. It does not fill itself. It does not pour itself. It is simply available – clean and ready for when I choose to use it. I love the way it reflects the light. It is beautiful in my eyes. I am its owner, and it serves me by serving others.

This is what I want to be – a pitcher in the hands of my Master. I belong to Him. He considered me to be worth an amazing price – He gave His blood to purchase me.

I want to be clean! Cleansed by Him, every fibre of my being starting at the very core of me – the very thoughts, intents, and motives of my heart. I want to be available and reliable – ready whenever He wants to use me. In Psalm 34:15 (NIV), His Word tells us that The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry. I want to be attentive to His cry, too. Whatever, wherever, whenever He needs me, I want to hear His voice and enthusiastically respond to His call.

Second Corinthians 3:18 (NIV) pronounces, And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

I long to be filled and stirred by the Holy Spirit! To be filled with His glory! To reflect His light! I want to be beautiful in His eyes and bring pleasure to His heart. May my person never interfere with the revelation of His glory. May I be so transparent that, like juice in my pitcher, His glory can be seen within. May I be solid enough to reflect His light. I want to bring Him the joy that He is so worthy of.

I long to have the Master refresh others through me. As He picks up this pitcher and pours out the stuff He Himself put into it, may others be encouraged, refreshed, healed and delivered.

And He will receive all the glory.

The pitcher will not be the focus, nor will it be the receiver of praise, for He said, I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols (Isaiah 42:8 NIV).
