Having a family that loves Jesus is a great blessing. I am so very grateful to God for the family He has given me. Whatever life brings us we know we can rely on one another’s love and prayer support. Therefore, a huge thank-you goes to my husband, Ralph, my very best stalwart supporter; our daughter, Sheri, and son-in-law, Troy; our son, Jeffrey, and daughter-in-law, Lisa; and also our four adorable grandchildren Kara, Chantel, Bryce, and Maxwell.

My sister-in-law, Beth Bishop-Long, has skillfully edited Sign Me Up↑ and has expressed many encouraging words along with the process. Thank you, Beth!

Thank you to my sister, Harriet Mouer, for her encouraging ways and to Deb Giaimo, who played a vital role in keeping me on task and encouraging me to finish. I also want to express my thanks to Cal Kody for her continuing prayer support.

Thank you to all those who have encouraged me with this project. I am so very thankful for your friendship.

I also want to thank all of you for reading this book. I hope the illustrations from Sign Me Up↑ will encourage you to walk ever closer to Jesus.

    Preface

My purpose in writing this book is to give others a glimpse of my personal relationship with Jesus while I give Him honor and glory for how He has so graciously touched my life and is continuing to change me.

Many of you reading this book are experiencing your own walk with the Lord. It is my hope the excerpts in Sign Me Up↑ will be an encouragement to you as you continue to grow closer to Jesus.

Some of you who are considering reading Sign Me Up↑ will be curious as to what living life with Jesus is all about. May I say to you that Jesus wants a personal, unique, loving, close relationship with you. Yes, you! He really does. If you decide to ask Jesus to be your Savior and Lord, the walk you will experience with Him will be amazing!

Writing Sign Me Up↑ has been a goal of mine for some years. As seasons passed, writing this book was always on my mind, and thus, I have felt I needed to be obedient in completing what I perceived to be an assignment. Around seven years ago I was privileged to be with a small group of women in the living room of my sister. Her friend Gail McWilliams was visiting. Gail has a phenomenal global ministry. (If you are unfamiliar with Gail, I encourage you to google her name.) Gail was praying over each one of us that evening. When it was my turn, Gail hesitated and thoughtfully expressed these words: Elizabeth, signs … symbols … are coming to mind. You are to finish. Wow! I had not shared the book or content of the book with anyone other than my husband. You can imagine how encouraging and affirming those few words were to me. I still did not share what I believed was an assigned task; however, I did leave that evening with a renewed sense of purpose. Now many years later you are holding the completed project, Sign Me Up↑

    I Am Washable Too

My friends and I were enjoying our third annual shop-till-you-drop day—the type of day where your friends pick you up at 9:00 a.m. and return you to your door at 11:30 p.m. We spent the day visiting stores of all kinds—discount housewares, discount clothing, discount pottery. And we knew that discount does count, and we packed every inch of the minivan as proof.
