    PREFACE

As rapid as the unexpected expansion of the universe as men of science confirmed as we deploy newer and more powerful telescope, technological, social and cultural changes occur at the same rapid rate. These changes spread globally through computer technology that is expanding at a phenomenal rate that is unique to mankind.

Technological advancement in the field of electronics, communication, powerful computers, smart phones and modern jet planes has altered our perception of time, distance and space. It also modified our habits and culture.

Today, you may be having breakfast in California, lunch in Hawaii and dinner in Tokyo, in contrast to several weeks to cover the same distance before. When we put satellites in the sky, we can talk to anybody, anywhere in the world. We can see the rooftop of specific houses anywhere. Modern cameras can even monitor your properties on the other side of the Globe.

These changes, though amazing, just scratch the tip of the iceberg, so to speak, of the tremendous changes that man claimed to be their accomplishment, reminding me of the Tower of Babel.

Although these changes appears to have promoted efficiency and enhanced progress, we ought to realize that nothing among all of these is permanent, they are all temporary, they will all be replaced someday by a newer and better version which will not be denied for mankind.

I can still recall what Solomon, the Preacher said in Ecclesiastes 1:2, 9 Vanity of vanities says the Preacher; Vanity of vanities, all is vanity. That which has been is what will be. That which is done is what will be done. And there is nothing new under the sun.

In deed nothing in this universe is permanent, except the Word of God. The heavens and the earth will pass away but the Word of God endures forever.

This statement has many questions in its wake, which we will explore together in this book.

What really is the Word of God? How is it living? Is it really powerful? Did the God of the Bible really created the universe and everything in it? Is the Bible reliable as the true Word of God?

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Foremost, I dedicate this book to my Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the only one who died for me.

Several people helped me in preparing this book by stimulating my thoughts, by their patience in listening to my discussions and encouragement during the process.

In particular, I want to thank my wife, Rina, my children, and fellow church members especially Dr. Kay and Pastor Tom, for their prayers and unqualified help.

Some have helped me shape my thoughts as I write and rewrite my thoughts and discussion in this book. I owe them a debt of gratitude, especially my daughters, Arlene, Annie, Grace, Adeline, Rowena and Sel.

Special mention to my daughters Annie, whom I always pick up from UCLA, to edit and correct inputs in our Apple computer, and my daughter Arlene, an English major graduating senior in Cal state Fullerton, who helped me with my grammar and also Josephine and Julia who helped me for printing and Apple computer issues.

Ultimately, I acknowledge and declare my gratitude to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit of God in completing this manuscript.

    THESIS

God’s purpose in my life as I fear and seek God and His Word.

    INTRODUCTION

This dissertation covers all the three major modes of thesis writing. The personal mode, the persuasive mode, and the research mode, which were carefully resorted to in order to accomplish the grand and passionate objective of the writer in the secular and spiritual level.

This thesis will clearly portray the handprint of the living God, the One and only true God as He, out of His mercy, and grace brought me out of ignorance and darkness and leads me into His marvelous light so I may have knowledge and understanding.

This treatise will bring into focus the wonderful change in my life as it was transformed from a worldly, self-centered, arrogant, proud and aimless prodigal life into a humble, selfless and compassionate one by the renewing of my mind, when I presented my body as a living sacrifice, in obedience to the Word of God when the Word besought me.

With a renewed mind, a dramatic change in my life attests to the statement of truth that being in Christ, I am a new creation, substantiating what is written in 2nd Corinthians 5:17 that says Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Indeed, I became a new creation; where before, everything in my life was centered upon me, all things revolved around me as center for all my thoughts and deeds but after my transformation, after the renewing of my mind, the Word of God allowed me to have the true knowledge of God.

The Word made me realize my ignorance. A realization that led me to have a humble and contrite spirit that enabled me to receive the revelation as to; how great is our God, the God that measures the universe by the span of His hand and how insignificant am I.

The universe, which consists of billions of galaxies (one of which is the Milky Way galaxy where our solar system is only one among a hundred billion stars within it). I was speechless when I correlate the distance just between the stars within the Milky Way galaxy could go as much as 30,000 light-years¹. To think that a light-year means 5.88 trillion miles because light travels at 186,282 miles per second left me in awe, realizing how insignificant I am.

This composition will serve to magnify the power of the Word of God that manifest when I experienced an insatiable appetite, tremendous hunger, and unquenchable thirst for the Word of God. As I am led by the
