About this ebook
Floyd D. Houston was born and raised in the small east Texas town of Crockett. At age 19 he moved to Houston, TX to attend college and decided that it wasnt the best route for him at the time.
During the period of time while he was searching for the perfect job, he gained a wealth of experience within a wide range of industries: fast food, retail, and transportation/trucking, to name a few. He determined a wise next step was to become self-employed and did so by beginning a trucking company, driving an 18-wheeler transporting freight on both cross-country and local routes.
Mr. Houston is an entrepreneur, author, teacher, investor, and philanthropist. His interest and passion to share his knowledge, understanding and experience provided the inspiration for this book. His motto: If I have to dance, I want to move to my own drumbeat, not someone elses!

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I was really disappointed in this one. I've been reading Tyler Cowen's brilliant blog Marginal Revolution for years now and was well pleased when I got this book for my birthday. As it turned out I put it down after 6-7 chapters. It's just too fascinated with autism and autists. It's not that I don't find autism interesting, but it was not what I wanted and not what I thought I was getting from a book thus entitled.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Cowen examines modern society in light of economic thinking and the cognitive traits of autism. The economy referred to in the title is your own inner economy of value: the way you process the overwhelming amount of input in the world. The book is nowhere near as well focused as his last one, Discover Your Inner Economist. The actual discussion of creating your own economy frequently submerges for discussion of the traits of autism, often in a very speculative mode that makes me wish he’d taken the time to do some research (or at least suggested an explicit direction of study for someone to undertake) rather than vaguely wondering at length— for example, in the chapter titled Autistic Politics, he does not make a single reference to a political opinion or insight from any actual autistic person. The early parts of the book, where he has concrete examples and counterarguments for the ”Google is making us stupid” hypothesis, are the best section.
