Bridges Crossed, Mountains Climbed - Amanda Pidlisny

    Stuck in the Past

I can’t help but look back

and wonder where we went off track.

How did it come to this:

where instead of holding you I reminisce.

Or that every time I look through photos

I smile, then cry and realize nobody knows

    and wonder about my future:

are we strong enough to last,

or am I nothing but a dreamer?

    You shut everyone out

determined to do it on your own

and those who care begin to doubt

and ponder if they’d be better off alone.

I understand it’s hard to trust again,

and that’s why you let no one in,

but if you reach deep within

you might find a reason to begin.

By your side is where I’ve been

    even though this battle I
