Words from the Wasteland

About this ebook
From an early age music has been a stgrong influence in my life. It inspired me to start writing when I was 12 or 13 years old. I'm now 43 and publishing my first book. I've poured my heart and soul into these pages.
Some of these poems offer hope for true love and happiness. Others deal with the reality of faltering relationships trying to find peace with ourselves, overcoming addiction and failure.

My Own Worst Enemy
It’s over now that you left me.
Seasons are changing, my cue to turn a new leaf.
Trying to move on but finding it hard to sleep.
When I close my eyes you’re there in my dreams.
You won’t leave me alone, you’re my own worst enemy.
You stabbed me in the back just to watch me bleed.
A shadow of myself, it’s hard to stand on my own two feet.
Trying to get lose, but can’t break free.
Held hostage by the stillness of your memory.
Never alone, because misery is the company I keep.
Thanks to you, my own worst enemy.
Thought getting over you would be an easy thing.
It’s more like climbing a mountain or swimming upstream
In the eye of the storm still waters run deep.
It feels like I’m drowning, it’s getting hard to breathe.
You left, you took everything
Everything except your memories, wished they’d leave me alone.
What do they want from me?
Now that I know your my own worst enemy.
You said you
