Dr. Willi Burrel is first a mother and friend who loves God’s word and God’s people. Evangelist Dr. Willi Burrel is the fifth child born of ten to Rev Sloane and Ophelia Tensley Forte. She was born June 13, 1929, in Tuskegee, Alabama. Dr. Willi Burrel was saved November 22, 1946 at the age of 17. Dr. Burrel is the widow of the early Honorable Bishop William L. Burrel. Who built and Pastored the gradual Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church for 43 years. Between this union came 12 children, 7 sons who are all licensed or ordained ministers, and 5 girls likewise are gifted and are serving and ministering. Dr. Burrel is a very educated person, who in fact skipped a grade in elementary. After finishing High school, Dr. Burrel continued her education by attending Aenon Bible College, United Bible College, Manhattan Bible Institute, and New Jersey Bible Institute, she also attended M.C.C with her children and decided to move on with her biblical training, receiving her ThD degree from the New Jersey Bible Institute. She is a recipient of the M.C.C award for distinguished women, as well as many other awards Dr. Burrel is a world traveler with her husband to many foreign countries, doing missionary work. She too is an ordained minister, active on a local, state, and national level. She became president of the Western Michigan Bible Institute in 1983, after her husband’s demise in 1995 until the present. She is an associate minister at the C.T.C serving under the leadership of her son the honorable Elder Avery D. Burrel. Dr. Burrel is an inspired writer and poet, teacher, exorter, and mentor. She loves working with people, and is one of the founders of the African American Museum, now serving as a volunteer

    The Poem Color Me Beautiful, was given to me in Nashville, Tennessee by the Lord as I visited my daughter after her apartment caught fire, destroying nearly everything she and her daughter owned.

    There are so many colorful, beautiful things of nature, which causes us to become more sensitive to its beauty and excitement. They have a way of getting our attention, in what we see, do, wear, and feel. So it is with beauty of one’s character Likewise the quality and reputation of ones make up individually, whether good or bad.

    I observed her behavior in the hurting situation and massive loss. I saw nothing more than a beautiful spirit and a positive attitude. Needless to say, I also observed a sense of sadness, which made me feel the same
