My education consists of a Gr.12 Certificate Secretarial and Travel Agent's courses and Communication and Computer Certificates. I am currently separated a grandmother of a lovely lively 2 year old granddaughter and 3 young adult young fellows ( grandchildren) My daughter will be 42 this year and my son will be 34 in September. I am also a artist and my art work can be seen on www.artslant.com under Canada artists Martell-MacKenzie. In my life I have worked as a newspaper reporter in British Columbia Canada and I have also worked as a camp cook in the northern wilderness of Northern Canada. A lot of my poetry was written about people I have met in my travels and my experiences and observances in life and about life in general. I think it makes for a good read and will stir your emotions.

Grandma’s House

Coming home to Grandma’s House…

makes me think of gingerbread houses

apple pie and something good

always cooking…

there is a old tattered sock…

hanging in the corner,

but you can bet the fireplace…

always seems a trifle bit warmer…

         at Grandma’s House.

The Christmas tree is sparkling

with joyous splendor…

Children’s faces seem to glow

somewhat brighter…

         at Grandma’s House.

Someone is always knocking…

at Grandma’s House…

This year… it will be the mailman,

possibly the milkman, and oh,

Yes the Spirit of Love knocks

quite often… at

         Grandma’s House.
