Did You Ever Wonder: Puppies in the Hood

About this ebook
Initially I considered splitting this material into two separate books but didnt think there was enough meat for both books to stand or squat separately. The last thing I wanted to do with a dog story is not have enough meat in it. If I didnt, Id have all the doggie lovers out there howling for my blood not to mention begging for more treats! Regardless, these cartoons were written with the intent of brightening your day! So take off you game face, relax, and let the sunlight enter!

PS Dogs like young children enjoy having stories read to them too! Please dont make them beg!
Jeff Nystrom
Jeff Nystrom is an artist, a father, a chemist, a teacher, a coach, and a Christian. As one of four children, he became well versed in the use of the pun at a young age. He has uncanny ability to “mishear” what someone has said. His passion for understanding the world around him has given him an unusual perspective which has shaped his humor. Formally a chemist, he has taught both at the high school and college level as well as spent many years in the textile, plastics, water, and paper industries. A major portion of his career has involved solving problems. While he is no “Dr. Phil,” he has had many pets through the years and has become very astute at helping them deal with life’s little problems or so he thinks! His love of nature and the marvelous creation around him has affected his perspective on the world around him and for the better. Enjoy!

I would like to dedicate this book to my dog Abby, and
my daughter’s/son-in-law’s dog Giggsy,
my patient
wife, Scarlet,
and my two lovely and ever supportive daughters, Hannah and Alex.
Thanks also to the many people who have been supportive
over the years as I have bombarded them daily with my cartoons.

NOTE TO THE READER
Back in the later part of 2005 I was in a 13 month transition period between my previous and my next full time job. I had always enjoyed cartoons by various people but I especially loved The Far Side
cartoons by Gary Larsen. About three years ago, I started sending two cartoons a day out to many of my friends and family. My goal was simple – try to start their day off with a smile. Recently, I published my first book of cartoons called Did You Ever Wonder – Thinking Outside My Box
based on these early cartoons. In this book, I introduced the Puppies in the Hood.
The cartoon titles were simply given as PITH.
My current book is really geared to show a softer side of the Puppies in the Hood!
