SECTION - I
THE PRIMARY STAGE
FREE
You said that you were everywhere
But close to me you had not been
Free flowing creature, just like the air
I was a leaf blowing in the wind
All the while, to you I showed a smile
Only in beguile, you tried to stay a while
Free showing feature, like at the Fair
You said that you were everywhere
THINKING POSITIVE
Got a thought here in my mind
They say think positive
Now isn’t this so-so kind
I say I want to live
Got a love here in my heart
Ant to all I want to give
Now isn’t that a good way to start
They say think positive
Got a vision here in the dark
They say maybe and maybe not
Outside, in the cities lungs, in the park
We say give them what we’ve got
Got a seat here in reserve
And they all will come to see
Inside the temples, we must preserve
You say praise his name finally
Thought, love, vision, seat
We give what we live, positive
In the Temples, in the cities,
We say think positive
MIXED FEELINGS
You could have come for me
I was hoping that you would
You thought your lover, I to be
I stopped thinking that we could
Sometimes the memory says hello
So still in my heart I can see
And still with you I want to go
But my love is not for free
Out of all the rest, it had to be you
You keep me going out of my mind
But my heart you cannot get through
And the love in me, you cannot find
We’ve got some Mixed Feelings
REASSURING TEARS
Glad tears fell from my eyes last night
Always the start of something brand new
And every time a song will make it right
Then the people will no longer feel Blue
Sad tears fell from my eyes this morning
Never ending fears are still here today
Tomorrow there’s a new day dawning
Then the children will come around in May
Tearstain on the Tulips outside
Listening to the hyena laugh
Africa smiles all over and inside
Asia clicks with the photograph
May we live, so that we may love?
CAN’T YOU SEE
Can’t you see, that it is Love
Something we all are in need of
I think I would fly to the sky
And never touch the ground again
Can’t you see, that I dare to be free
Sometimes we all don’t care to be
I think I would cry, if you told me good-bye
And never touch the ground again
Can’t you see, that you inspire me
Somehow, we must reach higher to reality
I think I would try without asking why
And never touch the ground again
WASTED ME
My head, my mind, then soul and body
Akin to and a friend too
Yes, at one time, I did love somebody
At the start, he gave to me his heart
On a certain day, he took me away
Yes, at one time we did have to part
As if I wasn’t there
Why did this man stare?
Right through me, I thought he could see
Catch me if you can
I tried, but he ran
As if I didn’t care
Why did he take me no where?
Light was dim, but I saw through him
He was just a Flim-Flam Man
Catch me if you can
I tried, but he ran
TURNED ON
Turned to him, I was once with a man
Turned inside out, to be born again
Sometimes the rise, like yeast can fall
Sometimes you’re on duty, sometimes on call
Turned to him, he would be the man
Turned away to all, I was out of mind
Always on guard, like the soldiers stand
Always in the shipyard, Always to find
Turned my love around, I was once
Out of town, but then I was found
So the roles they rearrange, while seasons exchange
To other loves, I was once in town
With a man, I was TURNED ON
JIM
Gazing eyes, curly hair, brown and slim
Yes, I stared at him from across the room
At recess, he told me his name was Jim
Then after lunch, we both met our doom
He lit my desire with flames of touch
We yapped on the telephone all night long
But later on he did not love me as much
So now my heart does sing a sad song
Can’t stop thinking of this man of past
Why does he still stay on my mind?
The answer has come to me at last
You see our love I just couldn’t define
Hey Dear One,
Thank you for your 40 year friendship. We’ve been through it all and I love you for always being there and listening when I need to vent. I know your mom is smiling down on you and she must be oh so proud of the man you have become.
THOUGHT WAYS
When I cannot sleep, I must clear my mind
Thoughts of you and me are constantly
When I cannot keep, I let go to find
And then the answers come instantly
At this moment my eyes see only you
They wink and blink a tear or two
At this moment my heart cries out for you
But feels and deals with what is true
The morning is early, dark still here
But sunlight is surely on the way
The early morning came in so clear
And the sunlight is surely part of day
So I want to show you all of me
To satisfy my Soul is a must
And you always love to make us we,
So to you only I give my trust
COME SUMMER
Smile Happy, when you are sad
Like the frown on a clown, but glad
So Happy that summer is coming around
‘Cause in the winter everybody leaves town
Coming around in summer, going to have me
Some fun, some fun, some fun
So smile happy, it’s not that bad
Oh, those eagles and seagulls, creatures or fad
You know I can’t wait for summer to
