The Power of the Church

About this ebook
Rev. Dr. Walter Farmer
I, Rev. Dr. Walter Farmer, began preaching this gospel thirty-eight years ago, and the Lord Jesus Christ has been the center of my life ever since. This book should inspire people who don’t go to church to start going. This book is not talking about the church building that we worship in. That building has no power, but the church is the individual who has the power. God gave us power over all things, we are the power of the church. Stand your ground.

Chapter 1
The meaning of the word church.
Please allow me to show you the difference in the word church, because many has indebted in their minds that the church is where we go and sit in a building. Yes in the natural sense, it is true but what I want to talk about is the real church and the power of it.
The word church or Ekklesia was first applied to the Christian Society by Jesus Christ in St Matthew 16:18….the occasion being that of His benediction of Peter at Caesarea, Phillippi. The church forms a spiritual unity of which Christ is the divine head. It is animated by one spirit, the Spirit of Christ. It professes one faith, shares one hope and serves one king. It is the Citadel of the truth and God’s agency for reaching out to believers all spiritual blessings.
The church is the object of our faith rather than of knowledge. So now, if we look at the structure of a natural church and the building of it, we will have to consider also that the civil structure has power and then it also has authority figure in it. When you are operating in a place of worship, you must have a staff comprises of a President, vice President, Secretary, assistant Secretary, Treasurer and other officers as needed.
The Church must have rules and regulations. When a local church is organized, the membership shall consist of all who have been set in order as a church by those authorized to do after having first declared their faith and belief in Jesus Christ as their Savior. A local church may establish its own constitution and by-laws. Some have been given special ability as apostles, to others the gifts to preach the words of the gospel, some to lay their hands on the sick and afflicted which make them
