INTRODUCTION

As a young boy, I remember growing up watching my favorite television shows and movies. While joyfully applauding the actors, I frequently found myself memorizing the scripts and mannerisms that made these actors famous. Not just actors but cult heroes, sports icons and celebrities. Beautiful women, cars, fame and most of all, money, would surround them. When these men would come on television specials, I saw how the crowd reacted to them. Being overcome with excitement I remember saying to myself, I’m going to be successful like that! But somewhere down the line, I would see these same men unhappy, constantly in trouble and severely ridiculed by the very people who once believed in them. As I became older, I realized that what I thought was a successful man was NOT success at all. In fact, many men (women too) are extremely misled about the truths and myths of success. I begin to search for answers on what true success is. As a result, the formula for success was found in the Word of God. You might be saying, Is there really a formula for success? The answer to that question is yes. Now let me ask you a question, would you create a product and not have instructions on how to use it effectively? How about sending someone to do a task they’ve never done before and not tell them how to do it? Unfortunately, this is what we think about God. We tend to think God has set us up to fail but Joshua 1:8 says," This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite it day and night, so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do.

I pray as you read this book that you will not only have a better understanding of success but walk in the successful life that God has for you.
