In life nothing destroys dreams and visions like distraction. Overtime, mankind had had to fight in order to overcome this evil, though some succeeded, but to others, the reverse was the case. To those who realized what distraction was and were able to overcome it, the sky was their springboard, but to those who did not succeed, they ended up not leaving much to be remembered for after their exit from this realm, they are regarded as spectators in the world scene, successful people are the real players.

Yes, that marks one remarkable difference between focused successful people and distracted unsuccessful ones. Successful people leave a lot to be remembered for, but that is not the case with distracted ones. For this reason therefore, I thought it wise and imperative that the myth behind focus and distraction should be unraveled.

It is therefore my candid opinion that you would find this material an interesting one indeed, and make a judicious use of the precepts provided herewith. Do have a great day.

INTRODUCTION

There are two key words here, focus and distraction, and these words works in an opposite direction in the life of a man. This is because, in life you are either focused or distracted on your set life objectives. Either way, don’t be distracted but rather be focused. These two key words Focus and Distraction shall be the main topic of this discussion.

What then does it mean to be Focused and not Distracted. A look at the origin and the meaning of both words at this point is therefore very important.

The word focus is translated from Latin word foci and it means turning attention on areas of concern with the aim of achieving some pre-determined objectives. Distraction on the other hand is also translated from a Latin word distractio and it means to pull apart or separating attention on important things. Now let us take it a little bit home, ‘foci’ or focus as translated is no doubt a very important ingredient needed by every living man to succeed in every sphere of life, be it family, ministry, academic, business etc. But you need to realize that focus and distraction works pari passu, that is to say that as much as you try to be focused in life, distractions are always there for you to deal with. The question then is, what are these distractive elements and agencies and how can they be handled with a view to emerge a champion, living a successful life while on this earth. The answer is not far-fetched, as we progress you will discover that it is still very possible to live through this distractive world and still be focused and achieve your set life objectives.

The greatest tragedy in life is not a failed business, marriage, career etc, but distraction or distractive elements posed by Satan the Devil or his agents that eventually led to those failures. Therefore, it
