Too many people walk around with no life flowing from their eyes; the reason being is that they are dead on the inside. The good news however, is that this can change. This change will be possible for those who are prepared to make the hard choice of turning their backs on their old lives.

Remember, only life can get rid of death. You don’t destroy death in someone to make that person live again. You give the individual life to swallow up that death. Therefore, the message within these pages is clear: increase in life and you will decrease in death.

About the author

Marius is a well-known pastor at Ashpah Ministries, Strand, South Africa. He is a good friend to Dr. Eben Roux, the founder and senior pastor, who strongly believes that Marius’ passion and vision to inspire, will help many others to live a life of significance.

Marius currently resides in Gordons Bay and is married to Marie. They don’t have any children.

Introduction

The purpose of this book and others to follow is to guide you to obtain your inner freedom; your Crown of Life as your most precious jewel in life. It will open up a can of worms by treading on your current problems; what they represent and why it is important to get rid of them. The problems with which you are currently struggling have many faces, but they are all locked up in your soul, your book of life. Or to put it another way; your control room from where you receive your commands.

If your book of life is in turmoil and your life is moving backwards, it must change and that can only happen by replacing the current director – the old you. Removing this stronghold occurs by constantly renewing your mind through implanting His spirit-filled word daily, not weekly.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. (Proverbs 23:7)

As long as the old you is in control, you will act on the wrong commands and make the wrong choices. This must change, because the wrong commands contain your carnal nature. To be an over-comer son of God The Crown of Life, the truth – God’s Word – must replace the lies. To turn around your life demands understanding how to start with this journey and what is needed for success.

It is easy to start something, but with no end in mind, what is the purpose? When Jesus set foot on earth, He had a clear cut vision. He did not allow any outside issues to hinder Him from succeeding in His journey to the Cross. In John 19:30 He says before dying and giving up His Spirit: It is finished.

He had fulfilled His mission. Imagine what would have happened if He had decided not to follow through?

Therefore, there must be vision followed by desire and action for success. Equally vital is structure; being surrounded by people filled with proper experience and knowledge of God’s Word as you cannot succeed alone. Too many people walk around wounded not understanding their injury or how to treat their condition. Consequently, they seek short-term solutions with disastrous effects.

This book is not just another story to read. Take time to appreciate and meditate on its contents and understand the journey of becoming new is not easy. There will be many times when giving up and moving backwards is the most tempting choice.

Yet, remember what Jesus endured to succeed. He laid our foundations and mapped out our route for eradicating our greatest enemy – ourselves.

If self is in control, this book will help you to understand who and what you are up against in this fight to overcome the old you. It is a reality and you cannot embark on the battleground without the proper weapons, the true word of God.

You don’t want to hear this, but to be an over-comer son of God, the old you, the carnal man, stands in your path. He doesn’t like change and will vehemently resist. It will take persistence and perseverance to stay true to the transformation process; after which you will experience inner peace beyond description. That is the moment you realise you are
