An Angel for Handsome

An Angel for Handsome is about how, for seventeen years, my cat Handsome always made my heart smile. If I went for a walk, he was by my side. He seemed to love life. And, in the book, he loved the outdoors, all the animals, and his friends. He walks the farm, making sure all the animals were safe, and was excited that his friends were coming.

The angel represents my son, who I lost too early. Animals see things humans dont. So hes able to see my son and talks to him. The angel helps Handsome stay safe and lets him know that he is never alone. Also, an angel can take many shapes to blend in when others are around. Sadly, I lost Handsome in September 2015.

I was born in Western Washington, the last of four girls, to the greatest parents. I was named Harriet after my father. I have never liked the name and have gone by the name Harvie for many years. I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for animals. I’ve always loved the little things in life most. My dad was my idol, and my mom was the sweetest person ever. Small children and animals always put a smile in my heart. I’ve learned that when they love you, it’s the greatest thing you could ever ask for. The love fills your heart. But the simple things—the things that are just there like the ocean, the forest, sunsets, and the stars in the sky—you can’t ask for more!
