I first met Ephraim in 1973 BLESSO camp at Thanjavur, when he was a teenager. He formed part of the energetic volunteer team in organizing the BLESSO and REVIVO camps.

He served as the Secretary of Students For Jesus for several years. He was the founder editor of Maanava Malar, the student magazine of Blessing Youth Mission in 1985 and continued till 1989. He prepared the History of Indian Missions book for the state level quiz program of Students For Jesus in 1989 and has edited the book Youth Unbeaten in 2008. Since 2004 he was the GeneraI Secretary of Blessing Ministries and presently the Managing Trustee of the same.

He was a teacher of Commerce from 1980 July to 1999 May for 19 years and became Headmaster in 1999 June, serving for 16 years till date. He also served as the Education Secretary of the CSI Tiruchi - Thanjavur Diocese from 2013 Feb to 2015 April. He was honored as the best Headmaster in 2004 by the Lions Club of Mannargudi, while working in Findlay Hr. Sec. School.

His contribution to BYM as the District and Zonal Coordinator is worth mentioning. As Organizer and Resource Person, he was a useful vessel in many SOZO camps, Discipleship camps, Leadership camps, Shepherds’ Training camps, Teachers’ conferences, Missionary Challenge meetings, Church Revival programs and so on.

He is a good Bible teacher, having conducted periodical Bible Studies systematically in Thanjavur, Poondi, Budalur, Karaikal, Nagapattinam, Kumbakonam, REC Trichy and Mannargudi since 1980 and is faithfully continuing in Thanjavur even now. He has interpreted my talks and that of other men of God and missionaries from from English to Tamil and from Tamil to English.

I am happy that the Lord not only miraculously healed him from cancer, but also gave him wisdom and grace to bring out this book. I have gone through the book and it is edifying and encouraging. It will be useful to everyone who desires to grow in the spiritual life. I wish that he may write many more books for His kingdom.

I know Ephraim from late 60s when he was a school boy. I went to help in VBS at Tanjore where I met him. He had wonderful spiritual experiences and has helped Christian organizations like Scripture Union and Blessing Youth Mission. He Served in the State Committee and also helped as Treasurer for the South Tamil nadu S U.

He has studied well including Journalism. He is a lover of the Word of God and Gods’ ministry. He presented a Research paper in the 6th. World Christian Tamil Conference on Christian Lyrics. He authored the book, Comet the life sketch of Mr. Elias Samuel, the Field Staff of S. U. and has edited the book Prophets & Prophecies, life sketches of BYM missionary Paul Immanuel and Pastor Ravi Johnson of Rasipuram.

I was sad when he became sick but now I am glad that the Lord not only healed him, but also gave him grace and skill to write this useful book. When I received the draft of his book and I started reading, I could find the gift God has given him in writing and I also enjoyed reading the whole book in one sitting. Everything is useful. I trust and pray that he will write many more books which will encourage many Christians.

May the good Lord give him many more healthy years to live so that he will serve God and in the area of education.

Dear Readers,

I greet you in the precious name of our Saviour Jesus Christ who granted me new life.

Old age is a school, sickness is a teacher!

An eagle gets old in 40 years, and settles down though it had flown in heights, even without fluttering its wings. It is burdened with its own heels, nails, beak and wings. At that time, it stays alone. It plucks away its old parts, renews them and is ready for yet another 30 years of life and flight. It’s a wonderful sight to see the majestic eagle soaring alone in the sky than the group of birds on the roof tops!

From the beginning of 2014, I was undergoing treatment for cancer, in Vellore and Tanjore and during that time as I was resting alone, I felt our Lord’s gentle and soft voice speaking to me. I noted down the thoughts that the Lord gave me at the time, The thoughts of saint John while he was alone in the island Patmas often flaoted into my mind. I have always loved to enjoy the company of friends, relatives or anybody else, but then I was alone and in a way I found my solitude quite enjoyable. Those days were beneficial to me to understand the mind of God to a certain extent, through the Bible verses, circumstances and emotions; to realise our position in Him and to understand a glimpse His ways and thoughts. May be St. Paul in the prison, in the same of situation was enabled to write his wonderful epistles!

This book is a compilation of all the thoughts revealed to me when I was in the prison of sickness consisting 11 articles and my witness of the miraculous healing granted to me
