About this ebook
Kenneth Thomas
Born in 1958 and coming from a low income family, I dealt with all the limitations that a lot of children does. My father, believing that hard work, patience and dedication would always prevail, pressed it strongly on each of his four children. With that implanted in my mind and heart, I voluntarily decided to quit school in the eighth grade and go to work full time, in order to help mu family’s financial situation. Married one day after my 21st birthday to my first wife, who already had five young children, I struggled to attain the maturity my age didn’t provide me. Making some terrible mistakes and wrong decisions, I lost all of them and was placed among strangers where I was forced to learn a new way of living. With nothing but time on my hand , I began to listen to their personal experiences and events in their lives, that led them to the same place. Regaining my freedom of choice again, I soon was blessed with finding a wonderful woman who would become my second and current wife, Victoria, but the greatest gift I received, is our daughter Elizabeth

MY FALLEN ANGEL
On a hill nearby, a lonely cabin now stands,
no longer filled, with hopes, dreams or plans!
Without the sound of laughter, of my daughter at play,
it only reminds me, of what happened that day!
When my little girl died, by the cruel hand of fate,
and my wife lost her mind, and mental state!
An abandoned well, long ago forgotten,
the boards that covered it, now old and rotten.
Just silently waiting, for a victim to claim,
without any grief, sorrow, or feeling of shame!
It was on a cool summer’s morn, while I wasn’t there,
and this feeling of guilt, forever I’ll bear!
That my precious Angel, fell into that well,
so only her mother, heard her scream and yell!
Panic stricken, she ran to the edge,
then glaring_ into the blackness, she noticed the ledge!
A few feet below the opening, on a cold narrow shelf,
my little girl pleaded, for her mother to help!
Now lying on the ground, my wife stretched out her arm,
a few inches short, of freedom and harm!
Then slow and carefully, she inched her way near,
while staring into the eyes, filled with terror and fear!
As their fingertips touched, a smile covered Angel’s face,
then the rocks gave way, with no warning or grace!
Into the darkness, my baby fell,
taking my wife’s sanity, with her as well!
Now my Angel’s in Heaven, and my wife’s reliving that day,
and because of my guilt, forever I’ll stay!
THIS THING CALLED CRACK
A little old lady, knelt beside her bed,
and I can still remember to this day, every word that she said!
She put her hands together, and started to pray,
and this is what, she had to say!
Lord, when the war took my Billy, I never asked why,
but to say my heart wasn’t broken, would be telling a lie!
And when my boy Frankie, fell through the ice,
I knew it was Your will, so I never questioned it twice!
When Cindy and Mary, were killed walking the streets,
I quietly stood by, and never uttered a peep!
Lord, when You took my children, to Your home in the sky,
I never questioned Your judgment, why each had to die!
But I’ve only one left, my youngest boy Jack,
please Lord, save him, from this thing called CRACK!
It has changed his whole life, and made him so mean,
now his friends and I, we don’t mean a thing!
First thing in the morning, until the last thing at night,
he’s always in trouble now, and in fight after fight!
But he says he has to have it, and nothing else will do,
it’s the greatest thing he has found, until he finds something new!
He’ll steal, rob or kill, whatever it takes,
just so he can buy a few, tiny little flakes!
I know nothing about it, I never claimed to,
so I’ll leave it up to You, because I don’t know what else I can do!
But this much I know, and I’m stating a fact,
I’ll kill myself, before I watch him die from that crack!
My mom’s gone now, her life she did take,
yes, getting involved with crack, was a terrible mistake!
THE END OF LIFE
There it stands alone, as cold as ice,
its stone walls tell me, it won’t be very nice!
The gates to hell, I now must enter,
they’ll be no drug, alcohol, or rehab center.
Because they say I’m guilty as charged, right from the start,
but I know I’m innocent, deep down in my heart!
I made a mistake, and I’m sorry as can be,
but no matter how many times I say it, they won’t set me free!
I’ve never been in trouble before; I’ve been good all my life,
so why are they causing me, all this worry and strife!
I’m innocent I tell them, please don’t lock me away,
Shut Up, Sit Down
, that’s what they all say!
The way it’s killing me inside, how the hell would you know,
because I keep it bottled up, and never let it show!
So they throw me in prison, and they’re trying for life,
everyone wants me found guilty, and kept out of their sight!
Twelve people will listen, and then they’ll decide,
whether I keep on living, or commit suicide!
Because, to be locked up, for the rest of my life,
I’d rather be dead, if there’s no release date in sight!
Yes, guilty I’ve been found, by twelve of my peers,
so they’ll lock me away, without the shedding of tears!
