    Preface…

    In 2011, I took a step to change my life by relocating to Atlanta, Georgia to acquire my MBA! After being unemployed for an entire year, I had just enough money to fill up my gas tank for a one-way trip and ten dollars reserved for pocket change. I thought this opportunity would be the happiest time of my life. Instead, I walked into this city with a metaphorical protruding boot waiting to kick me in my teeth! The strongholds of this place did not wait for me to unpack before I was rejected by those I long time knew and instantly judged by those I did not. My initial hazing was so distressing; I almost went back from whence I came. What a tragedy that would have been!

    I know I have tasted just as much dirt as victory over the course of these few years; however, it was necessary to be separated from all I was accustomed to finally see myself. I did not know I had that much work to do, until I unlocked the doors of past hurts to finally confront the emotions I refused to feel years ago. If I ever hoped to become I had to face what was.

    In the midst of my troubles, I learned what it really meant to depend upon the Lord for my every need. There were moments I literally had to choose who was going to eat—me or the car. There have been instances I was so defeated that I could barely stand and points
