Reminiscences . . . in Silent Couplets! is a magical creative mirror in which one can see the reflection of the poet's own innermost insight on the various themes lying at the roots of philosophy, history, art, and religion. There are many ways to look at the past and present situations. The vision intermingled with one another by the poets impression of places and people as his mind and imagination recorded them down the time.

Poetry always shaped humankind's collective, creative experience and thirst in a beautiful expressive way. These couplets speckled with episode of history, legends, lights on unforgettable charactersold and newnational prides, current situations, and universal and cosmic call. The lyrical narratives take us on a unique journey, offering us a glimpse of a dazzling consciousness. Here, traditional and modernity shove for space, aware of the passage of time. These thematic verses celebrate the richness and diversity of various stories and shaped the belief, existence, moment, spell, scenery, and many in composition to give a dream into reality. Dipankar Das

Dr. Dipankar Das is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Jadavpur University, and Visveswaraya Young Faculty, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. Before that, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Meghalaya, and Government of India from 2012 to 2014. His research interests are in the area of Natural Language and Speech Processing, especially in Emotion and Sentiment Analysis, Machine Translation, Social Texts Analytics, Information Extraction, and Machine Learning, Data Science, HCI, etc. He is leading several research projects such as “Sevak – An Intelligent Indian Language Chatbot” under IMPRINT II research scheme, funded by Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), DST, Government of India, “Claim Detection and Verification using Deep NLP: an Indian Perspective” funded by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), “Detect Behavioral Maladjustments of Students through Sentiment Analysis from Social Media”, funded by UGC RUSA 2.0 and “Preparing annotated corpus of three lesser known languages of West Bengal,” funded by UGC RUSA 2.0, respectively. Dr. Das has had more than 150 publications in top journals, conferences and workshops and has served as an editor and author of several books and book chapters.

Prologue

Reminiscences…in silent couplets is a journey which I started on 8th January, 2012 and this trip continued for next one and half years.

Rhyming couplets are often used in early modern English poems and they are one of the simplest rhyme schemes in poetry.

These couplets sought to be understood in heart and soul with the sight of nature that shaped the feelings, lives, places, moments, seasons and many, in composition to give a dream into reality.

Enjoy and peruse… these rhymes of my small creative passage with nature’s melody…
