Universal You–And the Big Bang: How God Designed the Universe and Fine-Tuned It for Us and Evolution
()
About this ebook
This book discusses how the four primary physical forces and the many fundamental constants, through their designed-in fine-tuning and governed interactions, formed the ongoing evolution of our universe.
The steady flow of new scientific data and evidence since Isaac Newton has led to the Anthropic Principleits designed for us observers. The number of planets discovered in our galaxy alone, now many hundreds and increasing monthly, virtually leads to the assumption that we are not alone.
Now many of those renowned cosmic discoverers publish strong personal suggestions that a super-intelligent mind, transcendent of the big bang, designed the whole works to produce observers.
The singularity seems to have been a complete kit to create a universe full of inhabitable planets and observerson earth, thats us. The end product of observers everywhere is souls. Thats what God wants.
The supply of hydrogen is finite, so is the universe since the stars will finally burn it all up. This, in turn, limits the number of souls produced for Gods transcendent realm of eternity.
This author has discovered nothing but the designed pattern of events and their ultimate results. Read this book, assess the evidence, and you, too, will believe God did it all for his purpose.

The author is a retired professional in the thermodynamics of cold storage design and construction, who has designed dozens of special refrigerated structures operating at +38°F to −40°F for the food industry. He also wrote their design specifications and supervised their construction. After thirty-five years of cold storage work, he retired to consulting for the correction of severe failures of poorly designed and constructed refrigerated buildings. He determined the causes of failures and devised proper corrections for structural and thermodynamic integrity. The highly technical treatise on the cause and correction of design and operational failures in this field was published in a technical grocery distribution journal. It has been widely circulated and welcomed by operators of such facilities.

About the Author
Dedication
TO GOD BE THE GLORY—great things He hath done.
To my dear Elizabeth, my beloved late wife, who started this long writing journey when she gave me Jacob Bronowski’s The Ascent of Man for Christmas in 1976. She now encourages my journey from the realm of God.
To all the world’s great scientists of the ages. They tenaciously dug and probed into nature’s hidden secrets. In God’s good time, He let them discover His intelligent design. I stand—always amazed—in their literary and scientific presence.
Acknowledgments
S pecial thanks to Paul Davies and his book The Accidental Universe , published in 1982 — what a marvelous revelation of the physical universe to a budding amateur scientist. Thanks are also due to Joan Gossage who labored to decipher my poor penmanship, untangled my participles, and gently disclosed punctuation and grammatical errors to produce this printed material. Thanks to God and to Dr. Hiram Pritchard, both of whom caused our introduction.
Many thanks also to Charles Finley for good editing and good advice to such a novice as I was. My thanks to Charlie’s wife Brenda for putting all of those editing corrections and additional thoughts into a modern information technology system. Their work produced a manuscript I could feel comfortable to send to a publisher.
It’s All About Time
• The Creator’s time certainly was not earth’s time—or any other habitable planet’s time.
• Time began with the big bang, which was at least several billion years before any planet could have formed.
• God’s six days of time could not be earth-based days because, for the first two days, earth was not mentioned and did not exist.
• Genesis days were universe days.
• Planet earth also depicted a general role model for other planets with observers (inhabitants with souls).
• Actually the Bible is only about 3,500 years old and is the basis from which our modern calendar records time. Its writers used Adam as its beginning—of the human race and the biblical calendar.
• Adam’s soul is mentioned when the sixth day was almost over.
• Why would God’s creation days be based on earth’s days when millions of other inhabited planets could have somewhat different rotation rates and thus different measurements of their days? Several physical laws could govern other planets’ rotation time as they do earths but still allow living creatures and observers to exist.
• Again—Genesis days are describing universe building days.
And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.
—(Gen. 1:31
Prologue
Part I
The Great Debate
T he most absurd answer to how the universe came to be is the universe is the haphazard evolved product of some material that had been around forever. A creator God was not required.
Except by faith—the Bible offered no conclusive answer. And until the mid-twentieth century, neither could science.
In this eureka era, after eons of time, the most profound revelations of science were disclosed by a small cadre of brilliant, inspired scientists. It all transpired after Darwin’s book, and none of it, except the discovery of the muon, was directly related to biological evolution.
To counterpoint that absurd answer, one only has to ask, Where did the material come from?
If it existed, it had to be created—how? Evolution can never create—it can only change, with time, an existing entity. To profess the belief that evolution, not intelligent design, created this precisely crafted universe, and us as observers, is to profess ignorance of physical science discoveries in the twentieth century. Now, for the first time in 13.7 billion years, God, the Intelligent Designer, has definitely revealed to his special observers on planet Earth his methods of creation.
Why did it take so long? The 13.7 billion years’ delay defines the Creator’s patience, but human progress was the criteria for the timing.
It is one thing to show a man that he is in error, and another to put him in possession of truth.
—John Locke

Part II
About Mr. Darwin—he just didn’t know.
• He did not invent the Theory of Evolution. The idea was many years old—even his grandfather considered it.
• The science of life was very sketchy. When he boarded the Beagle in 1831, the presence of cells in all living things had been proved only three years.
• The Big Bang Theory and an expanding, evolving universe were unknown. He admitted he had no idea how it all began.
• Darwin could offer no explanation how biology and life began.
• He admitted that the fossil record of the Cambrian explosion 500 million years earlier would destroy his natural selection theory unless intermediate fossils could be found. They were never discovered.
• The Tree of Life,
as Mr. Darwin sketched it, was uprooted by those fossils.
• Except for Newton’s gravity equations, it was about a hundred years after Darwin published Origins that the other three forces and constants were discovered.
• Later the fine-tuning of these forces and constants was verified at such astounding (even to the scientists) values that only a super intellect—the Intelligent Designer, God—could have accomplished such precision.
• Darwin knew nothing of the modern discoveries detailing the complexity, the contents, and the machine-like operation of a single cell.
• Mr. Darwin’s legacy is twofold. He discovered some aspects of bionic evolution, and he certainly did create a controversial atmosphere in science that provoked a constant search to explain the universe and its observers. Science is still explaining Genesis. The Intelligent Designer did just that over 3.6 million years ago when he switched on the spark of life in a single microbe.
The tragic irony of Darwin’s ignorance of key scientific facts is the ignorance of those same facts by most people today. This includes many with the highest orders of education. But their education did not include Quantum Theory, the four forces, the fundamental constants, their interactions, and the extreme fine-tuning evident in universal physics. Without study in these fields, no one can argue with authority for or against intelligent design—except by Genesis.
The word evolution, which Mr. Darwin used only once as the last word in his book, had been extrapolated from mutation of bionic life to encompass the beginning of the universe. Remember, for anything to evolve, it has to first exist, and for it to exist, it has to be created. Ignorance of science allowed those words errant expansion. In their blissful ignorance, those who improperly preach the erroneous use of that word against intelligent design are defying the God that made and fashioned them and the universe.
How ironic that those committed to promoting evolution as the source of the universe and earth’s bountiful variety of life forms totally overlook the words creator
and beginning.
Darwin used them in that last beautiful long paragraph in The Origin of Species. Here he extols the grandeur of life originally breathed by the Creator into a beginning of endless forms most beautiful.
He ends that paragraph with and have been and are being evolved.
Life has evolved but not in the manner invented by Darwin. Chapter 14 explains this.
This book is a compilation of proven scientific facts, figures, and discoveries of the world’s top scientists. I hope it will convince many readers that knowledge of scientific facts can lead to the truth and the answer to the age-old question of where we came from.
God asked, Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?
—Job 38:4
Preface
J ob was over 13 billion years in the far future when the foundations of the earth were laid by God at the Big Bang. When Job was born, the cosmos had been existing and evolving just fine for over 13 billion years. An exasperated God chided an incapable Job for two full chapters (38 and 39) in the Bible. God enlightened Job quickly about who created the world and all things therein.
That is exactly the basic premise of this book, to get the reader to understand precisely why there is no separation between intelligent design (God) and evolution. There are two types of evolution: cosmic evolution and biological evolution. Cosmic evolution started with the Big Bang about 13.7 billion years ago. Biological evolution began about only 3.6 billion years ago with the first life forms—microbes. Both evolutions are works in progress today, and they are intrinsic processes in the universe. Like all matter, processes, and interactions in this universe, microbes are activated and controlled by the four basic physical laws and the fundamental constants. These laws and constants are examined later in the book. None of them evolved. To the unscientifically tutored masses, the word evolution is an all-encompassing explanation for the world and everything around them. They use the word subconsciously to mean two words, creation and evolution, but intelligent design to them is alien. Evolution is their key word. Evolution has never created anything. The basic meaning of evolution is change in an entity over time. For anything to evolve, either cosmologically or biologically, it has to be created first. This obvious fact demands a creator. And the complexity and fine-tuning of the universe and its living flora and fauna requires a highly intelligent designer.
But Mr. Darwin’s basic premise for his theory of evolution was actually a two-part sequence. He labeled the first part of the theory natural selection, an impossible process that has been proven totally wrong. The idea of natural selection was destroyed by its requirement of a self-assembly system modifying cells by DNA instructions. But established creatures cannot give their own DNA instructions to produce offerings with superior traits or survival features. It’s those mostly high-speed particles, the muons from space that create mutations. The survival of the fittest part of Darwin’s theory is not found in fossils. The natural selection part is absolutely wrong. In fact, there is not a single bit of evidence found in the fossil or biological record for natural selection. However, there is abundant evidence in both records for intelligent design and real live evidence that the reader can see and touch today.
Over half a billion years ago, an event some scientists call the Second or Biological Big Bang occurred. In short, but very productive time (geologic time), the so-called Cambrian Explosion
turned Earth into a primitive zoo. The early sea creatures, the dinosaurs, and about all of the large and small animals we see today began in
