About this ebook

Life at a Glimpse is a book full of intrigue and exciting possibilities. It has been cited as "short and sweet" and has received wonderful reviews that purport the book as being " a solid dose of philosophy wrapped in humor and wit". As you take this journey, you will interact with powerful life lessons and practical propositions.
Devoted to the notion that all people are born with a distinct purpose, this book argues that no matter who you are, where you are, or how difficult life maybe, if you put your mind to it, with good planning, time and patience, you can achieve anything you set out to do.

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to The One, The Magnificent, The Creator of all things, who loves, teaches, nurtures and protects all beings in Creation despite our faults, mistakes and attitudes.

Known by many names and in many ways, as my guide, my conscience, my teacher, my friend, I am inspired to do extra-ordinary things.

To my love, my sister, my friend, thank you Gaynell, for it is you who have encouraged me to listen to my heart and to fulfill my purpose even when I was still afraid.

To those who are gone, to those who are here, my Family, My Children, My Friends. You are all blessings from above and I thank you for all of your support as I am continually motivated to be the best that I can be, to set the kind of example that inspires and nurtures the hope of happiness.

    Author’s Note

It can be considered quite unusual for someone with my educational background and limited writing ability to attempt such a distinguished task of writing a book, but to be saturated with notions of nonsense and images of fancy is too much for a mere mortal to contain.

Over the years, my curiosity has kept me in sync with many different opinions, translations and teachings.

With so many questions and so few answers, where do we turn, who do we turn to as we seek to understand the many anomalies and dichotomies.

I have learnt that by viewing Life in simplicity and by thinking charitably with humility and patience as my guides, the seeds that I have sowed usually bear good fruit.

It is said that being charitable, being humble and being patient are some of the ingredients which characterize a life of happiness and contentment.

It is unfortunate that so many of us have forced these attributes into exile but I believe that through our willingness to share, to learn, to teach, we may still salvage the better parts of our human existence.

Throughout this book, you will find examples, experiences and witty phrases which are meant to serve as guidelines and suggestions. It is hoped that this book will stimulate an alternative form of thinking.

    THE FIRST STEP

After the Foreword, the Introduction is usually the next item to follow in some best sellers and to deviate from this historic practice could be construed as a gross misdemeanor. However, since I claim no such expertise, will you join with me, get bold and let us indulge ourselves to take this step out of the box.

They say that some of man’s greatest achievements were purely accidental and perhaps we might be fortunate not to lose our way.

Taking such a step can be exciting, intriguing and lets not forget just plain stupid. There are numerous reasons why being inside the box is safe, predictable, conventional, dependable. To venture into the unknown is like walking backwards while going forward.

Perhaps the uncertainty lies more with where we are, as oppose to where we set out to be. I watched a movie a little while ago and by the way I love movies, the story, the cameras, the crew, all these people sharing ideas and coming together to make the show.

I remember one of the actors was explaining to a group that to move from one location to another in a (3) three dimensional space you need (7) seven grid points. (6) Six points to locate the destination and the
