      A Glad Welcome Home

      I haven’t spoken in quite a few minutes

      My eyes are fixed, and see nothing at all

      My breath doesn’t make shallow breathing sounds

      And my heart no longer beats like a drum

      People are weeping in sorrow

      As the last embraces take place

      What a blessing that hearing is the last thing to go

      As I hear what each one has to say

      Almost immediately when the time came

      My spirit slipped out and was free

      I floated awhile by my bedside

      Giving love to those who loved me

      Now there’s a great sense of weightlessness

      And I can fly wherever I want

      I’m moving so fast that it must be

      That I am moving at the speed of thought

      Now the angels are carrying me

      To a place where joy never ends

      Where the Savior, the Father, and others I love

      Join with the angels, and long missed friends

      My spirit is living and healthy

      And no sorrow will my soul know

      One has a good bye departure

      The other a glad welcome home

      A Prayer for All of our Soldiers

      I pray for all of our soldiers

      May God bless them every where

      Place a protective hedge around them

      And station His angels there

      Give them strength and courage

      And shelter them with love

      Bring solace to their families

      Who are trusting them to God

      Bring blessings from their efforts

      That none may die in vain

      Let their honor build a nation

      That’s transformed by love and faith

      Honor their commitments

      And bless the place they serve

      Knowing that the work they do

      Will build a better world

      Give them insight and understanding

      And may God grant them peace

      Be the wisdom that will guide them

      Until all wars will cease

      May they represent our nation

      In an honorable, courageous way

      As they bring freedom to all people

      In Jesus name, I pray

      A Voice of Hope

      I’ll try to be a voice of hope

      A continuous ray of light

      I’ll try to be an example of grace

      That I may shine like Christ

      Grant me a courageous spirit

      Who’s not afraid to speak the truth

      I pray the way I live my life

      Will draw the lost to you

      Give me a dependable
