Seniors, Are You Retiring or Recharging?: Making the Most of Your Senior Years
By John Clark
()
About this ebook
One of the main themes throughout the book is for seniors to draw upon all of their decades of wisdom, experiences, and life lessons, and put their lives to the best use for the benefit of those following behind. Seniors are encouraged to plan their next 20-30 years because many today are living until they are 90 or more. That is a long time to drift and do nothing of significance. Seniors can live their lives intentionally with purpose and value. May you be inspired to make your older years the best part of your life.

INTRODUCTION
This book is written to senior citizens, which some organizations define as anyone over 50. We all know, however, that even the full retirement age is still young when one considers the fact that many folks are living into their nineties, with some reaching 100 or more.
With this said, after retirement
a person could still have another 20 or 30 years left. That is a long time! Just because a person is done with the work force does not mean that he or she should stop really living. Unfortunately, though, I have talked to seniors who have. They are doing absolutely nothing of any value with their lives. They are drifting, with no goals or purpose. This is not a time to retire but to recharge. Charge ahead into new paths, new dreams, and new passions. Ask yourself the question, How can I put my life to the best use during the remaining years I have left?
You want to finish strong.
Provided that you are in good health and financially well-off, maybe you are traveling and doing things you have always wanted to do. Or, perhaps you are like me, living on social security and working part-time to supplement that. Either way, new goals can be set to not only give you a purpose for living but to outlive your life. That means that after you are gone your influence and example will still remain. In my case, people will still be reading my books and articles long after I have passed from this world.
The unfortunate thing is that many seniors are living with no purpose and meaning. I often ask retired people what they do with their time during the week. I have yet to hear one of them say that they have aspirations and dreams to pursue. So, life must go beyond the temporal and earthly accumulation of wealth, good health, and stability.
May this book inspire a new hope and vitality for you as a senior, to not retire from life but to recharge into your future.
