I began writing at an early age, sometimes it was just a few lines, but I would make sure they rhyme if nothing else. Later at the age of 11 years old as a school assignment, I was asked to write a poem of emotion about a loved one. I remembered hearing about my cousin "Marcus Yates" that was killed in crossfire in July of 1988. The story and the love remained close to my heart so I decided to write a poem in his memory. After writing it and receiving an "A" of course, I entered a poetry contest of which I won. That poem was later published in an edition of "The Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans". By the age of 13 I had my second poem entitled "Thank You" published in a book called "The Ebbing Tide". I was also inducted into the "International Society of Poets", received other awards and honorable mentions. After a few years of hesitation and a lot of prayers, I finally decided to step out on faith and share my gift with the world. I pray that my words will touch someone and possibly bring out those unshared testimonies.

This book is dedicated to all those who have ever felt as though they have been walking in life’s chains. For the broken hearted, betrayed, misused and uninformed—you are not alone.
My prayer was for this book to meet my readers where they are, uplift and inspire.
To God be the Glory for the things He has done and will continue to do!
Dear Bonded One,
I write you this letter to reach out and touch you where you are. I spent many nights toiling over what to say and how to say it, however God was specific in telling me one thing… to speak and the words will come.
I named this book This Time It’s Personal because I didn’t feel as though I really reached the depths of the issues I know exist and often tend to dominate our culture and more specifically our current generation in my previous books. This time has come to break the generational curses and the years of bad advice. With many words left unsaid, apologies not given and baggage weighing us down so many families are broken and so many hearts are bitter behind our lack of forgiveness paired with circumstantial setbacks.
In this book I wanted to inspire you to break the chains because becoming bonded is one thing, but continuing to live in bondage is a choice. As I look back over various events in my life it has become evident that I didn’t have to stay where I was. I found that it was easier to blame others for where I was in my life, as opposed to holding myself accountable for
